Question Why does everyone hate RTG?

Ok maybe not everyone, but a lot of people seem to.

I browse through the posts and see a lot of RTG hate, and I would like to know why. To me it is the platform I seem to do the best on, maybe that is because I prefer VP to slot play.

So I kind of wanted to get some opinions/info about why RTG is not really liked by the experts here.

    Thanks!

I like RTG. I have won a lot more than I lost on RSVS slots.

There are several things that makes many threads look bad when it comes to RTG. I will give you the two biggest.

    1: Many rogues

    Check the rogue section here:

    http://www.casinomeister.com/rogue/index.php

You will see a lot of RTG casinos there. It seems like RTG approves almost everyone to use their software.

Just to balance it up a bit you can look at the good RTG casinos here:

    http://www.casinomeister.com/accredited_casinos.php

2: All rumours about their RTP-settings.

There are plenty of rumours about RTG casinos who can change their RTP-settings whenever they want. Players think that when they are in the final stage of the wagering requirements the casino lower the RTP setting to make sure you canīt win.

Of course these rumours are NOT true. Other software like MG and Rival has same "dips" in RTP as the mentioned ones.

Another thing about RTG is that some casinos/software producers have admitted that there are 3 different settings at RTG.
Other software producers have not been an object for these rumours at all.

I do play at the accredited CM RTG's , maybe that is why I have not run into anything that would trigger dislike for them.
Here is hoping it stays that way!

BTW Maphesto...I have a headache also (today at least).

I love RTG games - They do have more Rougue casinos then any other software, but I like the games and will continue to play at the good ones.

There are others relating to business practice too.

The software itself is good, but......

    1) Max cashouts everywhere. This means many big wins get confisacted simply because your lucky day coincided with you using a coupon with a max cashout. This does NOT happen at MGS.

    2) Phantom bonuses - despite WR being pretty large, the bonuses are phantom in most cases (there are exceptions, such as iNetBet).

    3) Bonus bans - increasing reports of bonus bans, and NOT just for blatant "bonus abuse" strategies. iNetBet, for example, are banning LOSING players purely because they are getting too much "free entertainment" for their money by taking too many coupons with their deposits.
Bonus banning WINNERS is a different matter, it's pretty common, although operators tend to give out a load of Bullshit, rather than admit a player has been bonus banned simply for winning more than the house threshold from their account.

On a positive note, there has recently been an increase in the number of good operators running on RTG, this makes it harder for the rogues to monopolise the brand, and gives players plenty of RTG choice without having to take a risk with a rogue operator.

The different RTP settings DO cause negative feeling because whenever a player has a losing streak, they CANNOT be certain it isn't down to the games being on a lower setting than in the past, and there have been contradictory reports from operators regarding when & how such changes are made.

    RTG

I agree with Red to some degree, however I certainly don't hate RTG. In fact, it is my fav. place to play. I think that you here so much about it because it is one of the major software providers that we can play (USA) anyway.
Good or bad we talk about it. Theories and all. IMO their games are the best. They can be tight, but so can all of the others.

My main issues with RTG have been max cashouts and lousy bonuses. As I dont do any two tier betting I get no value from the bonuses. So basically their promotions.

And most of the rogues fall under the Virtual umbrella. If you dont count them they have about as much bad casinos as Playtech and MG.

Edit: good point slotheadlizard about why they are discussed so much.

    I think Maphesto nailed it.

There's one more point I'd like to mention - RTG (the software provider) allowing rogue operators to start and continue online casinos. It seems like they'll license to anyone, and their dispute service....I dunno, I've never had to use it myself, but I haven't heard good things.

That applies to pretty much every software provider. Playtech, MG, Netent etc, as long as they pay the software provider. The only exeptions being Cryptologic and Wagerworks.

I don't "hate" RTG - I'm not sure I've heard much hate here for RTG as a brand. As others have pointed out, many of the rogue casinos are RTG.

I like aspects of RTG, as Rival and MG, as well. Same with 3Dice or even Top Game. There are things I don't like, as well, such as the Random Jackpot - I would prefer playing on a version of the games withOUT the random jackpot, as it inevitably would raise the RTP percentage, making the game more fun, IMO.
