Hiya, so if an Online Casino is neither one, then what is it. Betvoyager as an example, or Captain Cooks? or any other Casino for that matter? Thanks.

hehe, i edit it, so miranda x reply no longer is valid......hehehe

rouge : [roozh] noun (sounds a bit like 'booze' with your teeth clenched)
1. any of various red cosmetics for coloring the cheeks or lips.
2. a reddish powder, chiefly ferric oxide, used for polishing metal, glass, etc.

VS

rogue : [rohg] noun (sounds like 'bogus' without the 'us')
1. a dishonest, knavish person; scoundrel.
2. a playfully mischievous person; scamp: The youngest boys are little rogues.
3. a tramp or vagabond.
4. a rogue elephant or other animal of similar disposition.
5. Biology. a usually inferior organism, esp. a plant, varying markedly from the normal.

For example:

One applies, or councils against the excessive application of, rouge.
"Too much rouge makes you look like a cheap 'ho."

One avoids, and strongly recommends that others avoid, rogue casinos.
"I don't play at rogue casinos because they'll steal all my money and I might end up being a cheap 'ho."

* Accredited Casino
* Engaged Casino (Not accredited or rouge)
* Rouge Casino

See above definition(s) and spelling(s).

If colours must be used suggest 'noir' or 'beige'. ;)

Also why 'Engaged Casino'? Engaged by whom? for what?
Seems that they're just 'other' casinos, or 'misc' perhaps. It is common practice to label the exceptions -- in this case that would be Accredited and Rogue (not 'rouge') casinos -- and leave the rest undistinguished.

 That'll work!

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to answer the original question:

If a casino isn't Accredited (meaning it's come to Bryan's notice as a particularly good place) and isn't a Rogue (meaning it's come to Bryan's notice as a particularly bad place) then it's just another casino as far as we're concerned. Nothing neither good nor bad, so to speak.

I reckon this should get the nod:nod:

* Accredited Casino
* MIA (Missing in action)
* Rouge Casino

Because it's missing but still in action.

We're sticking with the colours are we? :eek2:

How about this?

  • Blush-and-lipgloss casino (a little make-up)
  • Au Natural casino (no make-up that we know of or noticed)
  • Rouge casino (too much rouge, mascara, etc .. this one a 'ho)

For the last time:

This is rOUGe (the coloured stuff she's applying to her cheek):

This is a rOGUe (a nasty person, who may or may not be wearing rouge):

He's definitely wearing rouge though.

I think you are confusing matters. Not all rogues will have red cheeks!

Rogue casinos that fall into the 'most likely has red cheeks' category:

Brandy Casino
Pampers Casino
Sluts Alley
Trump Casino

Rogue casinos without red cheeks:

African Palace Casino

Clear?

Not all rogues will have red cheeks! ... Clear?

:D No, not at all!

I certainly do agree though that not all rogues wear rouge. Those that do are Rouge Rogues, or Rogue a la Rouge if you prefer.

Rogues without rouge are Rougeless Rogues, or Rogue sans Rouge.

Or another way to look at it might be that a rogue can wear rouge but rouge alone won't make a rogue a rogue. Which is to say that it takes more than rouge to make a rogue.

And that's all I have to say about that! ;)

As a former military officer (not a :sickbrag - I was terrible), Missing In Action is more like "they went missing in (during) action". Everyone kinda knows MIA = >99% gg / PoW.

Unless you're Rambo or Chuck Norris I suppose, then you'd just keep on owning oblivious to the fact that you're taking on entire enemy divisions alone.

A military term for the middle bracket could be "Grey Man" (someone who stays under the radar, doesn't do anything great, doesn't do anything bad enough to attract attention). The secret to success in military academies is usually striving for total "Gray Man" status - at my academy, there was this saying "51% wasted effort, 49% wasted year". That ethos is very "Grey Man" influenced.

i think this may be a good example of a rouge rogue wearing rouge

Oy vey! Whatever it is cover it up! That guy looks like he might blow up planes or something.

Cap't Jack Sparrow? But he's such a lovable rogue! He could rip me off and all you can do is giggle and say "oh golly gosh Cap't Jack...when will you ever learn, you lovable rogue you" - you couldn't even be angry at him for more than 5 min....

May I respectfully suggest this gentleman for Rogue?

In the 1980's the Zimbabwe $ was worth US$1.59 at one point.

On January 16, 2009, Zimbabwe announced plans for imminent issue of banknotes of $10 trillion, $20 trillion, $50 trillion, and $100 trillion. At the time of the announcement, the latter was valued at around 30 US dollars, but that value was expected to evaporate swiftly.

In February the government of Zimbabwe revalued its currency. One of these new Zimbabwean dollars is worth one trillion of the previous.[43] This move took the number of decimal places removed during the period of hyperinflation to 25 (1025 = 10 septillion short scale; thus, if no revaluations had taken place, Zimbabwe would now be issuing 10 septillion dollar notes).

I don't even know what a septillion was. I had to google it.

septillion 10 to the power of 24

I been out of school a long time, but I think that is:

1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Why he hasn't been consulted for advice in handling the GFC is a mystery that will likely never be explained.

When I looked in my Brittanica for "rogue", I found this picture of Mugabe. He was wearing a Golden Palace Casino shirt.

There's a totally awesome YoDawgYo in that for a more creative type than I.

For those that might not be aware, the YoDawgYo thing is like an internet meme which has exploded at the expense of Xzibit (every time he cracks it and rants against them on Twitter, another few hundred pop up) - most are pretty hilarious but can be incredibly rude - this is the most 'polite' one I could find on quick skim:

Sorry, my Universal Translator is in the shop for repairs this week.

(No offense but I have absolutely no clue what your post is supposed to mean.)

Sorry, my Universal Translator is in the shop for repairs this week.

(No offense but I have absolutely no clue what your post is supposed to mean.)

Ah sorry, it's kind of this new explosion of puns very similar to the post you made with all the Rogue / Rouge references - but the puns are all making fun of Xzibit (a US rapper who hosts MTV's Pimp My Ride - although he's genuinely more famous now for being the target of literally thousands of these puns which have become an incredibly popular Internet meme).

The thousands of puns targeting him have exploded onto forums all around the world, and it's a bit like when you're in school and someone gives you a nickname you don't like - if you absolutely hate it, the WORST thing you can do is get offended (that just guarantees it's popularity) - the best thing you can do is pretend you like it or that you don't mind it.

Well, Xzibit got massively offended and just rants and rants against the YoDawgYo's - which, of course, has made them an Internet meme as big as the Chuck Norris jokes.

------

I just realised how boring that might all sound. It's just that I, along with many other Internet geeks, absolutely LOVE the YoDawgYo's - and your Rogue / Rouge post could be made into an awesome YoDawgYo (except I'm not creative enough and the ones I attempt never rate highly on the site so I don't attempt them anymore).

/random thread YoDawgYo hijack attempt :o

Oh, I did 3 yrs of ADFA (like USNA / West Point / USAFA combined for Australia) and received a Queen's Commission as an Officer in the RAAF - but it was all on paper. A decade on and I'm too immature to lead men, I can't even lead myself. Back then, I was a 20 yr old brat, frightened out of my wits, but (and this is the only Officer Quality I displayed probably) I was not stupid enough to think that a few years of officer 'training' (lol) gave me the skills I needed to 'lead' my team. My 2IC Warrant Officer ran the entire show (30 yrs experience > 0 yrs). He was happy, I was relieved to the point of tears, my airmen / airwomen all idolised him, and the show rolled on.

Then I realised I was a pacifist and when war loomed on the horizon as the US invaded Iraq, I got out pretty freaking fast.

You see, although I *did* like the uniforms, I'm something of a...what's the word...coward!

Maxd I thought you were the moderator, "one who arbitrates" and not a spell checker. Maybe you should add that to your list of job duties here at C.M.. I'm glad you've had a big day making fun of my ONE misspelled word but honestly it doesn't surprise me from your past responses regarding my posts that I've made and oh BTW I never took the time to respond to. If you're going to point out every poster on this forum that misspells fine but if not sit back and look for something worthwhile to enforce, JMO!
As far as the Engaged comment the OP was looking for a term, I thought, if a casino wasn't accredited or ROGUE then what was it?? I simply said Engaged. Anyone playing at a casino that's not accredited or rogue is engaged with that casino. I'm replying to the OP.
Now to end this if you have a problem with me PM me and I'd be happy to discuss whatever problem you have with me but don't come on a public board and try to make me look stupid because I won't tuck my tail and run like some of the others I've seen...

This could look like I'm sucking up to Max, which I'm not - I always speak my mind (as almost everyone here probably knows, and for which I've paid for with bans for offending people unnecessarily). But TOC, I cannot see how Max is making fun of you - his responses were very much (to me) jovial and amusing.

I misspell 'rouge' and 'rogue' ALL the time - it's got to be one of the most commonly misspelled words on this forum - and Max has probably seen it misspelled 1000 times I'm guessing. From where I'm sitting, he wasn't attacking you at all - just having fun with the pictures and the pun (which I confused the hell out of everyone bringing YoDawgYo into it - which clearly is not yet a familiar meme here yet).

As for the 'Engaged' - I actually got it and thought it was quite witty. But it would be easy not to get the meaning - I *think* Max read it as "engaged in operations" or "engaged doing something" rather than the sense in which I think you meant it - i.e. "engaged to a partner prior to marriage" right?

I think this is just innocent misunderstanding here, from where I'm sitting. And if I thought Max was making inappropriate fun of you, I'll likely gleefully tattle to Bryan like a narky little schoolgirl (cause that's the kind of person I am ;))

---------

But I have my own bone to pick!!

I'm a little offended that I didn't get any laughs for this effort:

When I looked in my Brittanica for "rogue", I found this picture of Mugabe. He was wearing a Golden Palace Casino shirt.

lolgirls.jpg

Obviously, no one here *knows* 'funny'. Or maybe my jokes suck. Let me think....

Nup, you all suck!;)

... don't come on a public board and try to make me look stupid because I won't tuck my tail and run like some of the others I've seen...

Ok, I get that you took the thing as a personal attack -- which it most certainly was not -- but ... what can I say? It's not about you TOC, never was. Look back where this particular incident started, a thread posted from love2winalot, not you. It says 'rouge' right in the thread title. That's what I saw and that's what caught my attention.

Note that I made my initial post _before_ you entered the thread. I made the distinction between the two terms _before_ you misspelled anything. I just don't see how you could take this to be about you specifically. Especially since I've quoted you and several others here in this thread pretty much equally, no specific 'make me look stupid' at all. If I may say so you making this personal is more about you than it is about anything I've posted here.

Besides, JHV has the right of it. I see this rouge/rogue thing 100 times a day. This seemed like as good a place as any to make a point of it, to try and clarify once and for all that 'rouge' is one thing and 'rogue' is another.

The point is that for many folks who say 'rouge' when they mean 'rogue' it's not just a spelling mistake. They say 'the Rouge Pit' and 'rouge casino' and 'they are rouge' all the time. They actually think the term is 'rouge', for real.

So, that's where I was coming from on this and, no offense, but I think I made it pretty much about the general issue and not about you at all. And I tried to do it with a little humour. And we kind of got into the fun of playing with it a bit.

Is that a bother? Well, excuse me but having bit of a giggle over this was not, is not and will not be about whether you (specifically) misspelled or misused the word(s). Those who do and have done are legion hereabouts.

Jeeze - who pissed in this guy's cornflakes. Take a chill pill will ya?

Actually, no one has a problem with you (as far as I know), but if you choose to misspell a commonly used word that gives it a totally new meaning, please expect to be corrected. Max and the other's were having a bit of fun, why you took this personal - I don't know.

I coined this term years ago, and if I had known it would have caused so much difficulty for misspellers, I would have called them "asshole casinos" - no one seems to misspell that word :p

Back on topic, casinos that are not in the accredited section or rogue/not recommended are simply "unlisted casinos". How's that for simplicity :D

Honestly, if you haven't got a sense of humor in this world, what have you got?

Right, now I'm of to 32Red to clame my Club Rogue bonus and loose some money on there sluts!

Moderators are also "members" of the board. And moderation is to make corrections when one sees fit - like pointing out misspellings that can cause confusion. There is a big difference between the meaning "red" and "crook". You may not realize the importance of this - but we do.

You also fail to understand it wasn't a personal jibe. Like I said before, calm down a little bit. Thanks!

Oh for heaven's sake, please dont take things so personally. It is obvious that Max wasnt poking fun at you. If he had corrected your grammar I would probably be thinking otherwise but the correction of the word 'rouge' which was included in the title of the thread is imperative.

Frankly, I doubt very much that lots of people are scared to speak solely for this reason although it is still likely that many wont voice their opinions for fear of being belittled if they dont tread on the party line lol.

To make 'fun' of someone is to tease them. To make 'fum' of you is to tease you by misspelling 'fun' ... kind of like 'rogue' was misspelled earlier. :D

PS. merged your consecutive one-liner posts. Hope that's not a problem.

No offense but you've really got your head in the sand over this.

As (I thought) I clearly explained above, many people make the rogue/rouge mistake here every day, day in and day out, week after week, month after month, year after year, ad nauseum.

From this one can assume that someone sooner or later was going to be the trigger for my clarification posts.

Initially it was the OP, later (I suppose, though to a much lesser extent) it was you.

This is not an attack on you personally whether you see that or you do not. As others have pointed out you're making a big thing out of nothing.

If it really makes that much difference to you I say call the Rogue casinos whatever you like. I recommend you call them 'strawberry' casinos: difficult to misspell and 'rouge' coloured if you want to see it that way. I can provide pictures if necessary. ;)

Seriously though, time to take a deep breath and think zen thoughts on this one.

hehehe, If I would have known my spelling would have caused all this, "I WOULD HAVE MADE THIS POST MONTHS AGO"..........;)

OK, For CM, If the Casino is just, "Other", and different members of the board started playing there, and most of the post were positive, Does the Casino itself have to ask you to be accredited, or do you say, "Hmmm, these guys seem to be pretty good, i will offer them trial accredition"? Thanks.

I've rarely approached a casino. They usually approach me. When it's a cold call, I usually refer them to this page Old URL

And from there we can discuss things.
