I think it is wrong to do this when someone has excluded themselves from the casino. Also think it is wrong to spam people.
I don't mind recieving free bonuses at all. As long as their from reputable casinos. I have very rarely made a deposit if I lose. I don't find the tactic works on me. It doesn't hook me in. I just enjoy playing with the free money and if I win it's a bonus. If I lose it doesn't really matter cause it wasn't my money anyway.
If people keep going on about how evil casinos are. The folks who want to be everybodies nanny will campaign to ban online casinos and what happened in the USA will happen here as well. And I really don't want that to happen. People should be free to choose if they want to do it. We are adults not kids.
I have had a gambling problem these past few months and it has been Hell. Recently I experienced a bad losing streak which got me depressed and suicidal. After some hard days of contemplation I decided to continue gambling albeit with a very small bankroll and strict rules. Money is tight at the moment and paying bills and putting food on the table is far more important than wasting it on games of chance. Also spending time with your loved ones is far more important. I had been spending too much time on the computer and ignoring those around me. Lost in my own crazy bubble. I really regret this and feel cross with myself. It's not just money you lose but time as well.
I now look on gambling as just a hobby I do occasionally.
My strict rules are:
1. Only play with money that doesn't matter if you lose it.
2. Never borrow money to gamble. If you're completely skint. Practise strategies in play for fun mode. This way you satisfy the need to play but without risking anything. When you do have some money again you will be able to use the techniques you've practised and maybe win something. If you lose and are skint again go back to the drawing board of play for fun.
3. Never ever chase losses. If you lose shrug your shoulders and walk away. Do not make another deposit and try to win back what you have lost. Just let it go.
4. Only gamble if you have the time to. otherwise spend the time with those you love. Time like money is also precious.
5. Have fun. I actually find I do better when I'm just playing for fun. When you're desperate to win. Thinking about paying off debts etc. Things seem to go wrong. If you just enjoy yourself and have a more carefree attitude to winning and losing I find I actually do better. I think state of mind is important. Only play when you're in the right frame of mind.
6. Never play when your tired or intoxicated.
7. Relax. Don't get stressed. It's just a game.
8. Don't get greedy. If you feel you're at a deadend and you're starting to hit a losing streak. Cash out.
9. Don't follow systems or strategies religously. You can sometimes use them in the short term but if they start to go wrong stop using them. Be adaptive to the way the game is playing. And try to conserve your bankroll. Don't ever double your bets more than 2-3 times the original stake. If you lose a little it is ok. If you just look at what you have in the here and now that is your bankroll. Forget about what you had 5 minutes ago. Just focus on what you have now and be content to play with that.
I really screwed up because I didn't have self control. I lost a lot of money because I was doing the reverse of the above. I think/hope I have learnt my lesson now. I have been through what can only be described as a dark night of the soul.
I decided to continue gambling. But on condition I follow the above rules. The best one for me is to have fun and not take it all too seriously. Is good to switch off the computer and do something else with your life.
Be free. Don't let something outside yourself control you.
I hope this post helps someone.
