Rome Casino - Analysis

Hiya Gang

I received an invite from someone today to try out Rome Casino....games look different but I found some terms etc that leave me a little concerned to say the least. The licence is in Costa Rica so that worries me to begin with.

Has anyone played/cashed out here?

The terms that bother me are:

1. The promotion page (200% bonus) provided no information or link to wagering requirements - u have to look them up in the T&Cs as follows:

Quote:
In the interest of fair gaming in order to cash out any amount of money you must wager at least eighty (80) times your play bonus, unless specifically stipulated in writing by an approved representative of Rome Casino. If you opt in for the bonus, you can not withdraw any amount from your account until you have met the wagering requirements. For example: Deposit $25 get $50 Free - minimum wager is $4000. Deposit $100 get $200 Free - minimum wager is $16000.
Excluded Games:
Your bonus can be used with all games, but each game type has a contributory percentage that it makes to the wagering requirements before withdrawals are allowed.

The contributing percentages of games towards the wagering requirements are as follows:
100% on all slot games
2% on Blackjack
0% on all Roulette/Table & Card Games/Craps/Video Poker - this means that play on these games makes zero contribution to the wagering requirements for your bonus.
**NB - the signup bonus is automatic and the player doesnt have the ability to 'opt in'

BUT WAIT THERES MORE (from the banking page)

Quote:
Required Wager Qualifications
Players must wager at least 12 times the amount of their deposit and bonus in order to cash out any winnings or as stated in a specific promotion or bonus requirement, always check your e-mail confirmation or promotion mailers about the wagering requirement. Players who attempt to cash out any winnings prior to having met the wagering requirements will have the bonus canceled and the withdrawal request declined. Wagers made on Roulette or Black Jack does not count towards meeting your wagering requirements. Bonus money cannot be withdrawn and once credited it must be put into play. Any winnings made from bonus monies are subject to wagering and withdrawal rules.
2. WITHDRAWALS

Quote:
A player is only allowed to withdraw up to $10,000/£10,000/€10,000 per month. (Defined by the currency of play.) If the amount wished to be withdrawn is greater than $10,000/£10,000/€10,000 , then the remaining amount will be put back into the player's account, thus allowing the player to withdraw additional funds the following month respectively. For example: If a Player should choose to withdraw €20,000 this month, €10,000 will be withdrawn this month while the rest will be put back into the casino account. Next month, The Player will be able to withdraw an additional €10,000 should he chooses to do so. This also applies to the withdrawals of progressive jackpots. Withdrawals depend on all conditions outlined above and the verification of all required documents as requested.

Customers can submit their withdrawal request at anytime. However, Rome Casino only processes withdrawals on Mondays. Your withdrawal request must enter the system prior to Sunday at 11:59 a.m. in order for our accounting department to process your request. Processing a withdrawal request also needs authorization from our fraud division. This is done to protect our members from possible fraudulent activities ensuring you and not somebody else receives the funds.

All withdrawal transactions are processed in US Dollars. The time it may take to receive your funds into your preferred payout account may vary. You will be contacted by the finance team soon after you make a withdrawal request, together you will make all the all the necessary arrangements and receive our best recommendations and options related.

Haha! I dont drink beer so you can save yourself a couple of quid there Nifty.

About 5-6 years ago, I played at a site called Rome casino (dunno if this is the same one). The software was dodgy but as I was new to the whole online thing I deposited and played nevertheless. I stopped when my pair of Aces was beaten by 3 of a Kind (Aces) at Carribean Poker. OK, so much for that. Well, in the interim I did make a withdrawal request for $500 and received a call at midnight (my time zone is GMT+8) and they told me that they just wanted to check if I am me by asking a few questions. Well, I did receive full payment thru check slightly more than a week later. I dont know about the bit about best recommendations and options related though.

I recall the old Rome Casino, too, but I'm not sure whether this is an old wolf in a new guise although it is using proprietary software.

What I do know is that earlier this year at one of the affiliate conferences these guys (RomePartners.com) made a big and probably expensive splash with sexy models etc, and that recently they have been issuing promotional press releases.

QUOTE:
(PRESS RELEASE) -– RomeCasino.com's recent venture to the Casino Affiliate Convention turned quite a few Dutch heads as the beautiful Romegirls, or ragazze di roma as they are known, toured Amsterdam.

The girls travelled to clubs, coffee shops, and cruised the canal meeting locals and tourists alike. In keeping with the Roman gambling spirit, they put their newfound acquaintances to the test in a public game of Truth or Dare.

The game took a turn for the interesting after a trip to Abraxas Coffee Shop, near the Red Light District, where a tray full of hash muffins lead to streaking through the streets and a slew of shots. Two lucky winners were able to take home the first in a long line of all-expense-paid trips to Rome, courtesy or RomeCasino.com. Witnesses claim that the winners took home slightly more then that.

"We're bringing an entirely new level of gaming to the table," said Josh Cartu of RomeCasino.com. "We plan to foster an environment that brings a face to online gaming. The community we are creating gives our players not only a place to win money, but also many chances for life changing experiences, like our trips to Rome."

The entourage was in town to announce Rome Casino's (www.RomeCasino.com) latest promotion, which hails to be one of the largest deposit bonuses the online gaming industry has seen. The $1,000 bonus is part of Rome Casino's unique approach to multi-leveled bonusing, which allows the end user to continue to receive bonuses up to their 5thdeposit.

Back at the Casino Affiliate Convention, Rome Partners (www.RomePartners.com) debuted their affiliate software, which eases the normal frustrations of obtaining and implementing creative, as well as offers easy to understand, yet detailed reports.

"We're building strong partnerships with an array of affiliates based on our ability to create enticing offers, as well as our willingness to adapt to the needs of our affiliates," said Mati Gross, Affiliate Program Director for Rome Partners. "Rome Partners is also paying for a weekend of fun with the Rome girls for all our affiliates in Rome in the very near future. We recognize the need for our affiliates to share ideas amongst themselves and with us, to increase our ability to communicate with the end user."

The Progressive JP restriction and the fact that withdrawals are only processed once a week would put me right off playing there to be honest. I'm not sure they are "dodgy" (like Jetset said they certainly made a big effort with the matrketing), but the T&C's suggest to me that the casino doesn't really have major funding and are written to try and prevent having to deal with potentially damaging cashouts. That's entirely their perogative, and at least they have written them into the T&C's for everyone to read, but the message it sends out isn't confidence inspiring.

Sounds like another casino i play with. Anyhow i was forward the same email msg during one of my withdraw pending. They left with me a 800 phone number and within few minutes i was talking with their customer service rep. The prob as stated about is this i had used instadebit to make my deposit but their casino could not use instadebit to refund back to me. Thats how i landed opening up a moneybookers account i cant fig out how to load it myself but my casino winnings do go into there. It seems using mb there is less of a wait also within the 24 hours i had my payment in. If i had of used few other options available to me was 7 to 14 day process so i think thats why the casino would rather discuss any large sums of withdraw with you so you can get your payment and be a happy customer.

2. WITHDRAWALS
A player is only allowed to withdraw up to $10,000/£10,000/€10,000 per month. (Defined by the currency of play.) If the amount wished to be withdrawn is greater than $10,000/£10,000/€10,000 , then the remaining amount will be put back into the player's account, thus allowing the player to withdraw additional funds the following month respectively
Yep, meets every aspect of a Contract for Gaming whether implied or expressed. Granted one has the freedom of choice to patronize and possibly take the risk of granting credit to the subject casino (assuming one has the discipline to avoid the true intent). Regardless, it does not speak well for the online gaming industry. Implying no disrespect and/or offense to any forum member but if the 10,000 was amended to a 1,000, the same principle still applies and may be easier for some to relate to this issue.
Quote:
For example: If a Player should choose to withdraw €20,000 this month, €10,000 will be withdrawn this month while the rest will be put back into the casino account. Next month, The Player will be able to withdraw an additional €10,000 should he chooses to do so
Kudos for at least having this term/policy in writing. That is better than some..... Ethics, intent, responsible gaming, etc. are another story. Would the gaming guru's of the world who stand for patron fairness and ethics such as the Stanford Wongs, LV BEARS et al justify the ethics and intent issues. I can not speak for them but I have a feeling it may differ from some of those in the online industry who have justified these issues in the past. That said, based on an unsolicited correspondence from CM this summer, I believe that in due time he will devote more time to possibly (re)evaluating these issues that occurred in the past and seem to be a growing trend.
Quote:
This also applies to the withdrawals of progressive jackpots.
Absurd, moreso than all the above, I doubt this makes for a "happy customer"

Official Reply from Rome Casino

Hello everyone,

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for taking interest in our exciting new casino, Rome Casino. Just a little background before I address the issues raised here.

I'm pleased to present Rome Casino, a casino that brings a new breath of life to the world of online gaming. We are making the most the brilliant software of TopGame, which I am sure players both new and experienced will find extremely enjoyable.

That said, I would like to make it clear in no uncertain terms that we are in no way affiliated with, or have ever been affiliated with a casino called Roman Casino, which we understand was engaged in fraudulent activities.

The reason for the contractions in the Terms and Conditions is that we only moved over to the TopGame software, which enables us to take players from all over the world, last week. We hadn't updated the T&C, but we have now.
You can find the updated terms here:
http://www.romecasino.com/terms-conditions.php

We pride ourselves in our honesty and integrity, and are certain that Rome Casino will become the most trusted name in online gaming.

Remember, there's no place like Rome ;-)

All the best,
Patricia Watson
Customer Relations Manager

Your appearance here is both timely and welcome, Patricia.

Can you tell us a little more about Top Game, or is it Top-Game?

I ask because there does not appear to be a great deal of upfront information available, judging by recent enquiries conducted on learning that new arrival 7Spins Casino is also using this software.

Apparently it has a download games inventory of 80 offerings, but there is precious little other information available such as location of company, full title, test procedures, company history, other licensees/partners etc etc etc.

Why on earth would anyone even think for more than 3 milliseconds about taking up a crazy bonus like that?
The casino may well be find & dandy (must be - the rep says it is! ), but come on - there's 100's of far better bonuses on the net, in fact I don't think I have ever seen one worse than this.
