The issue with payouts was that Rome Casino only processed these ONCE a week, rather than 5 days a week, the industry norm. This lead to waits of 2 to 3 weeks when a document request was received instead of the expected withdrawal.
Recently, both Thebes and Rome have stated that there is to be a move to 5 days a week processing of withdrawals.
In terms of the software, it was not only their CS that "sucks" but their slots. ONE free spin & no multiplier was not most player's idea of a proper "bonus round". The promises were that this feedback would be returned to the TopGame developers, and more exciting slots with "proper" bonus rounds would emerge.
Sadly, progress has been slow, and deteriorating CS along with this slow progress has given some the impression of a new software brand "dying a slow death".
Not all new software brands succeed, however good, or bad, they appear to be at the start.
There was much hype about "Hype" software, many liked it, and it had many of the old favourites from Lasseters casino. Sadly, this died a less than slow death with one Hype casino after another disappearing with player's money (mostly through simply "going bust", but not wanting to say so). A few even tried to trade whilst insolvent, with a couple soliciting new players and deposits, whilst at the same time unable to pay existing players their withdrawals. Top Game has not got anywhere near this bad, and could still have a new lease of life if the promises are made good in the next upgrade, and the 5 day payment processing gives a payout experience similar to other operators.
Rome casino has a rep here, two in fact, who share the rep account, and this thread pulls together the discussions about Rome casino right from when it was first noticed. The rep will occasionally post, but only when there is something to say. It appears this has not happened for a while.
If YOU are playing there, and getting paid, even if still on the one day per week basis, then they are very much alive.
There would probably be more interest in TopGame if the slots offered bonus round excitement comparable to the established providers. This would mean wilds and multipliers, retriggers within free spins rounds, and a decent number of free spins, at least 10 or more (my view). Bonus rounds should offer a decent multiplier of the triggering bet, and should not appear to be "rigged" (or heavily weighted to the lower end of the range - to use the technical jargon

)
