Thumbs down Sneak a Peek - worst MG video slot ever.

Note: The title is NOT a question.

I've been playing this slot as part of the Ladbrokes scratch-card promotion and my results have been frightening. I can now officially rate this as the worst MG bonus video slot ever - and that includes Reel Crap & Gift Crap!

I had to play at least £100 every day to get a scratch-card.
It started off not too bad - I was low-rolling and got some nice scratchcards which boosted my bank nicely!
So I gradually started increasing my bets, but then I found my results were not so good. I'm almost ashamed to admit that as my bank started to plummet I lost some of my usual self-control and started chasing my losses (by upping the bets 2p/line at a time with decreasing numbers of spins) in the hope of a big win.... you can guess the rest.

After playing for 15 consecutive days I finally had to admit defeat today. (Look at my last 5 sessions! )
I am so angry about MG releasing such crap on us punters that I decided to waste 2-hours of valuable gambling time to fully analyse my results in detail, and here you are:-

    Session . Spins . Wagered . Av/sp . P/L . Return . Features

    Bonus features:-

    Peek bonus - once in every . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 146 spins
    Bonus on first reel 100 times = once every . . .. . . 29.2 spins (Are there 87 symbols on reel 1? )
Converted into 'peek' feature 20 times = once every .. 5 tries

    Free-Spins paid:-
    Bet x3.2, x38.9, x20.7, x0, x6.6, x2.2, x24.6, x21, x9.6, x15.7, x7.1, x12.4, x19.8, x10, x54.4, x34.7
    Average = Bet x17.5

    Peek bonuses paid: 3 were x15, 17 were x30, 0 were x45, 0 were x60.

Rusty is gonna love this next bit!

I then split my analysis into bets of 4p (my lowest starting point) & 6p per line, and those at higher amounts (up to 20p/line). These are the stats:-

    Bet level . . . . . . . Spins . Wagered . Av/spin . P/L . Return . Features
    Bets up to 6p/Line . 1950 . £812.52 . . £0.42 . -£109 . 87% . 14 spins . 15 peeks
    Bets over 6p/Line . .. 972 . £894.60 . . £0.92 . -£278 . 69% . 2 spins . 5 peeks

    Bets up to 6p/Line:-
    Free-spins, once in every; . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 139 spins
    Peek bonus - once in every . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 130 spins
    Bonus on first reel 69 times - once every . . . . . . . . 28 spins
Converted in 'peek' feature 15 times = once every .. 4.6 tries

    Bets over 6p/Line:-
    Free-spins, once in every; . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 486 spins
    Peek bonus - once in every . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . 194 spins
    Bonus on first reel 31 times - once every . . . . . . . 31 spins
Converted in 'peek' feature 5 times = once every .. 6.2 tries

By far the worst thing about this slot though is that the picking feature is definitely not random, and in my book not random = rigged!
I had the peek picking feature 20 times and not once did I get a x45 or x60 - this is on top of the same thing happening at least 10 times playing the slot at other casinos as well.
I'm not clever enough to work out the odds of always randomly picking at least 2 'boobies' in 12 picks from 15 squares every single time in 30 goes - but its' got to be pretty darned high!
I am very, very, very, VERY disappointed that MG have gone down this road...

You post raises many interesting subjects I will have to comment.

First of all I must admit I regret my high appraisal in the august review of Doctor Doctor. I am now used to many people initially disagree with my
reviews about the major-release slots. This was the case for Mega Moolah and Hitman etc., but generally most people now agree these are good slots
which also is supported by the casinos hot lists. So I was right actually. But I think I am wrong about "Doctor Doctor".
When I tested it for review (though I lost money) I got the freespins about 5-6 times. And in these spins I hit many +more spin so some of
the freespins had a total of 15 freespins. However the last 7-8 freespins I have not hit a 'retrigger' at all, only giving my a total
of 4-6 freespin. And this is a really crappy feature that is also very hard to hit. On top of that you also have to hit the multiplier a few
    times to boost wins.

So though it is an excellent idea for a feature, the balancing is simply way off. It reminds of me of "Dolphin Tale" slot, where the interesting
"Wild Morph" feature does not happen at all in most of the feature games. There is simply too little of the feature, though it is a really cool one.
The is the only problem with Doctor Doctor I think, however it is a major one. The graphics/sounds/theme and everything else is excellent.
It is so rare to just get a decent 100*bet-size freespin feature(1000+ is possible) that I would classify it as a 'progressive'.
I like high variance slots like Isis, but "Doctor Doctor" seems too high and also in Isis you also get the 20spins*6, while in doctor most of the
times it is 5spins*2, so it is not just that you do not win much, you also rarely get to see the boosting mechanics in the feature.

The statistics, though very small sample, still gives an indication of what to expect in an 'average session'.
I would have liked to know what the total number of free spins was in each feature though which would contribute to the 'fun factor'.
You data are just in line with what I have seen. It is very hard to win anything in the feature.

But your winnings from the "Picking feature" are different to mine. It seemed I got a 'fair' game when picking. You data are way of, but not
impossible. I am not conviced the seemingly uniform random picking game is 'weighted' yet.

    If we assume uniform distribution:

    0 x45 and x60 picks, 20 trials: 1:1048576
    17 or more x30 picks, 20 trials: 1:33778121 (= at most 3 x15 or x45 or x60 picks, 20 trials)

Honestly, I should say that I also notice that sneak a peak bonus and free spins bonus appear very very seldom. I don't play for real at a casino, but I always try to test all new games. As for me it was a big surprise when I noticed that to get sneak a peak bonus I needed to play at least 15 minutes, to get a hero in a reserved place when sneak a peak bonus was unpacked I needed to play 25-30 minutes.

But I didn't play for real so I can't say that it's true for real play.

I hate it - and the Grand Circumcision slot they released at the same time.

Mind you, I see a few people singing Hitmans' praises but I cant hit a damn thing on it....so go figure

Thanks Zoozie and KK once again for your usual informative posts!

That is truely horrible KK and though a small sample size it is a worrying "coincidence" that your percentages were down all around when playing at higher bet sizes.
Personally my returns at all MG's have been horrendous this Year and I the only time I will play now is to check out a new Casino/promotion.
If anyone had told me last Year that I would find an RTG I can trust and I would end up hating MG then I would of thought them Kerrazy!
We punters are quite a fickle bunch so MG really need to start addressing their customers concerns as they seem to be on a slippery slope.
But then we have all been saying that for a while now, haven't we?
Best of luck on your next promo adventure KK and thanks for the stats

I really liked the sneak a peek games - at first. I had some very good runs on them... but lately I can't hit a damn thing.. even when I am lucky enough to get the free spins I always end up picking 5 6 or 7 spins x1 (why bother).

I'd probably low roll $10 or something on them every once in a while, but for the most part I am done... They've sucked enough out of me lately.

You only have to ask, oh master!

Fortunately this was one of the things I recorded.
Below is the initial (spins)x(multiplier), the final (spins)x(multiplier) & the return.
I didn't record how many spins at each multiplier - that would be too much detail, even for me!

Start spins End spins . Paid betxN
    Start 7x2 > End 16x5 . x54.4
    Start 5x1 > End 6x1 . . x2.2
    Start 6x1 > End 13x5 . x21.0
    Start 6x3 > End 15x4 . x19.8
    Start 4x2 > End 4x6 . .. x0.0 < That was a real thrill!
    Start 6x1 > End 15x1 . . x9.6
    Start 4x3 > End 4x3 . . . x6.6
    Start 6x2 > End 6x5 . . . x7.1
    Start 3x3 > End 17x3 .. x38.9
    Start 6x2 > End 17x5 .. x15.7
    Start 6x3 > End 9x3 . .. x10.0
    Start 7x3 > End 19x3 .. x34.7
    Start 3x1 > End 6x1 . . . x3.2
    Start 4x1 > End 23x5 .. x20.7
    Start 5x3 > End 15x7 .. x24.6
    Start 6x2 > End 9x4 . .. x12.4

I'll leave you to do the further maths on that lot!

BTW; I worked out that I think the chances of completely undressing the Doctor (i.e. not hitting any Bobby's in the picking round) is 1 in 466 if it is really random.
I could well be wrong there and would appreciate if any 'maths-heads' could verify the correct chances of getting x60 or x45 if the picks were random...?

    Cheers!
    KK

PS; To add the finial insult to injury, here's the scratchcard I got today for my last day of playing this crap yesterday....
(Of my last 5 cards, 3 were as below & 2 were just £5... )

You results (spins and multiplier) are actually a little better than mine, but I hit some better wins it seems. My opinion about this slot is just more
definitive. The both boosters are too hard to hit.

I get the changes to 1/455 though: 3/15*2/14*1/13=1/455
There are 15 squares where 3 are bad, right?
