Arrow Meister Meeting 24 January - London

I just wanted to take a pause from writing the awards and catching up from the holidays to say that I'm really looking forward to the Meister Meeting coming up in just a matter of days (12!)

I think by that time we'll all need a beer or three

I'm really hoping that those who have never ventured to the annual Meister Meeting will make an effort to come - especially those in the UK. It's only from 5-8 pm, but during those brief hours you can make some really good friends, and get to know your forum buddies (and nemeses) better.

Hope to see many of you there

Just in case anyone missed this:

    Where: Waxy O'Conners
    http://www.waxyoconnors.co.uk/london/index.asp
    14 - 16 Rupert Street
    Leicester Square
    London
    W1D 6DD

(Waxy O'Connor's is between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square)

    When: Tuesday 24 January 2012 from 5PM to 8PM

It's in the Dargle Bar which is all the way downstairs - it's a really cool place.

We have two Irish musicians laid on, and they start at six. They are from "Biblecode Sundays" - an Irish pub band. There will be some snacks as well so you won't starve or have to drink on an empty stomach. It's going to be a long night for some of us

And yes, this is for all members of the forum who can make it.

It would need ICEi to come to Portugal.

It would be better to persuade Bryan to arrange local Meister meetings during other events that he attends. Even if this doesn't cover Portugal, it may at least be somewhere closer than London. If ICEi moved to Birmingham, I would expect the Meister meeting to move there as well. Birmingham actually has better facilities available, and it is cheaper to run large events there, and cheaper to attend. Unlike Earl's Court, the NEC is not right in the middle of the city, so the after hours entertainment is not so easy to access.

Many large events are now choosing the Birmingham NEC as their venue, rather than London. If ICEi outgrows Earls Court, they may look outside London for a venue.

The UK in January is not all that warm, so it wouldn't be surprising to find ICEi move south into somewhere like Spain, even Portugal, if the right facilities at the right price could be found, and it was well connected for transport. London has Heathrow, and this makes it particularly attractive for international events. Birmingham would add a domestic leg to the journey for many attendees, as they would not necessarily be able to fly straight into Birmingham airport from their home location.

portugal in a small country you have here (not so hot for this time of the year) but palces without any ice, and otheres fully but fully of ice...

but UK residents, when visiting portugal, (we have cold) they are here in winter dressed with the same clothes that we are in the summer....
UK is so cold that, when some of there visit here, for them its "hot" here...

and for those that dont met this, you have all kind of transports here (including low coast flyes)
