New Forum upgrade

Hi All,

There will be some downtime for the forum tomorrow. We will be doing a major upgrade of the forum software, and it may take a bit longer than what we're used to.

One thing is for sure, I'll be having to reinstall a number of the plugins that are currently being used by most members. A few of the templates will have to be modified as well, and this is always time consuming. The blogs will be integrated instead of being a separate plugin - that said, if you have a blog, you may want to make a copy of it in case what you have now is overwritten or disappears.

The forum will have a newer feel to it, and I'm sure most of you will be happy with some of the new bells and whistles, but even so I'll do my best to keep it as what you are familiar with.

Anyway, I'm planning on tackling this tomorrow afternoon my time. I'll make sure I'll be wearing full body armor in case I screw things up

Okay!!

I know - this is the most fugliest forum you've ever seen, but I'll be putting it all back together over the course of the next day or so.

Please don't comment on the colors - I know they suck

The new version of vBulletin has rewritten their templates AND 100% of their images so it's going to take me a while to replace everything with the Meister friendly look.

There are some plugins that I have not yet uploaded yet (WTG, thread awards, and a few others). I have the "Thanks" installed and will be working on a couple of more before I hit the hay.

By tomorrow, things will be looking prettier - I promise

Don't hold back KK.

Kudos to Bryan, this is not a straightforward upgrade. He got this far without annhiliating the database. That is some mean feat in itself.

VB4 has a neat feature. Rss feed links on the forum home page, on each and every forum. This is great and means you can configure your desktop in Windows to pull in the feeds, so you get updates from the forum in real time.

Okay - I'm heading to bed. But so far - so good. Tomorrow will be a busy day as I'll be implementing new plugins that will enhance and replace the old ones, and YES I'll be bringing the old color scheme back.

This look was not intentional, but I figured you'd rather have an ugly forum than no forum at all
