Not only am I getting really fed up with this, but also the Palace Group must be really pushing their luck in maintaining their Accredited status here :mad:

Part of the Accreditation Requirements:
Marketing Standards
Must not use false, misleading or deceptive advertising.
Must not spam, and must take appropriate actions against any affiliates or any third parties who do spam.

Just got this e-mail (to my private business e-mail):

PalaceSPAM.JPG

The sender was zayeu @ thepublicmind.com
It says it's from "Spin Cash" casino - but the description made it pretty obvious it was a Microgaming Casino - and since I've never heard of "Spin Cash" I clicked the link.
That took me to a pretty slick looking but totally false website for "SP Casino" - note the name change!
(Though the URL for this site is www. aspvivaking .net)
So I clicked on the "Download" button, and what do you know - it started downloading Spin Palace Casino.

I've reported their spam direct to them a few times in the past - but it still keeps coming.
This time I'll report it to Bryan and see if they listen to him...

Problem is, if it isn't coming directly from the palace group, then all they can do is shut the affiliate down.

Is this the first time you have received SPAM from this particular affiliate? If so, then you should give them some time to sort it out.

I'm not sure that TPG can be held responsible for some idiot affys who love to SPAM....not before you actually receive the SPAM anyway.

If they do close the account of these SPAMmers when reported i.e you don't receive another from the same idiot a month later, then they are fulfilling their accreditation obligations as far as I can see.

IMO you are chasing the wrong dog here.

I get average 12-18 of the Spin Cash spam each day. My block senders file is at about 200 and most of these are from Spin Cash and Kings Palace. I was wondering where they came from as I never clicked on the links in the email but each time I block another one pops up under a different email addy so now i'm getting them in hoardes.

Miighty pee'd off to say the least.

This is a long standing issue with Palace Group casinos. They are failing to police their affiliates. I even had one by snail mail where a fake casino name, site, and other details, were in the advertising material, and only when I typed the URL into my browser did it eventually become clear that "SP Casino" was actually "Spin Palace". It is dodgy simply because they felt they couldn't have the name "Spin Palace" on the snail mail advert, and had to invent a bogus casino along with a bogus URL to cloak the fact that it was Spin Palace.

The same trick is being done with Ruby Fortune via email spam. The link goes to fake landing pages where it is impossible to read the terms and conditions because clicking on any link such as "about us", "promotions", "terms", etc all initiate the download. Even the installer has been given a fake name, and only when it launched could I see it was Ruby Fortune. Since I had not been granted to the genuine website at any stage in the process, I had not been given the opportunity to read the terms and conditions before registering an account. At this point I ceased the investigation, an inexperienced newbie might think that what he had seen as "ad copy" so far WAS the terms and conditions, and would have been led through the registration process, clicked "I have read the terms" thinking the ad copy was the terms, and then be lead immediately to a page asking "how much do you want to deposit" in order to register deposit details and make a first deposit, which would trigger the SUB to be credited automatically.

To read the REAL terms would mean guessing the REAL URL of the casino, which was NOT given at any stage in either case.

It seems that this is STILL going on some YEARS after this practice was first "busted" on the forum, and the Palace Group made aware. The only change seems to be in the names given to the fake webpages.

This is actually TWO "offences", one is spamming, the other is forgery (the production and use of fake landing pages in order to induce download and deposit to the casino).

There has to be a reason to go to all the effort to produce a series of fake websites, rather than simply to link to the genuine site.

The most obvious one I can think of is to disguise one's affy code, which strongly suggests that Palace Group are failing to detect rogue practices among their affiliates. The fact that this problem sees to occur disproportinately in Palace Group compared to the MGS network as a whole is further evidence that they are being targetted as other operators police such practices more effectively, and these particular affiliates have quickly been show the door there.

I have also seen the above model used to promote Roxy Group and Fortune Lounge casinos.

This mostly ends up in my spam folder, and I see loads of this "King's Palace" stuff, and it gets deleted straight away as I do not recognise the name as that of a genuine casino.

Basically - what VWM said above.

I don't know if it's coming from an independent affiliate and that TPG are complete unaware, or if they are aware but hope to "get away with it" or even if it is being done by TPG themselves. Like many things in this industry - it is virtually impossible to prove one way or another.
All I know, like VWM said, this isn't the first, second or even third time this exact same type of spam has lead back to TPG casinos.
It seems to happen on a regular basis - about once each year.
Where there's smoke... ?

But I'm not making a judgement in any way - I have reported it to Bryan and I will go along with what ever he concludes.

I've been getting these too. Still getting them after my PM, too! :/

That was a few weeks ago iirc.

I'll see if I didn't clean them out of my spam folder!

I was getting a bunch of these too at an email address I never use to gamble - interestingly enough, right around the time I started getting the Kings Palace spam to that same address. I've reported them several times to wagershare, and although I never got a response back, my last mail said something like, "I've got accounts with all the casinos in the group but if you're discourteous enough to allow your affiliates to do this I'll be closing them all." Maybe coincidence but I haven't gotten one since.

I've had the same problem too, getting spammed on mail addresses I never used for gambling. I'm pretty sure the main reason for this is most websites out there have shitty security. Websites are constantly attacked by mail address harvesters / bots. So if you sign up somewhere, meaning you give them your email address, and start to receive spam soon after, you know where the leak is. I've said this more than once I think, but if sony can't even keep their customers information secure.. well.. I made my point.
I've read some funny posts on the gpwa once, were webmasters were commenting on the subject if they ever got hacked or attacked. Some people said they never had this issue lol. Those are probably the ones who are the least secure :D

I've never had any problems with the palace group myself. Used to receive a lot of lame snail mail from them. But when I requested them to stop it I never got them again, for any of their brands.
However, they should punish these affiliates allot harder. Like a one time warning, next one you're out kinda deal. But it seems like most groups are having trouble finding out if the mail addresses were gathered in a legit manner. If this process would be easier / do-able I think it would come to a halt.

Put the onus on the affiliate to prove that they got the email address legitimately, and have confirmed "opt in" permission to use it to send their marketing. Those who harvest email addresses are only doing so to supply a demand. Affiliates who buy such lists "no questions asked" do NOT have permission under the "opt in" standards to use the addresses for marketing, although will usually argue that it is enough to present the recipient with an "opt out link" to be able to claim the marketing does not constitute spam.

This will need to be written into the affiliate program terms, and then applied to all affiliates after a suitable period of notice has been granted to allow affiliates to review their procedures so that they can prove them to be compliant with the new rules.

Without change, recipients will continue to complain, and the casino being promoted will be judged negatively because of their inability to control what is being done in their name. It seems to suggest THEY contracted out their marketing and said "just get results, we don't need to know how you do it".

More of this in my spam/inbox.

I don't know how to share the information to figure out where its coming from- if someone wants to help me with that, I'll be happy to provide what details I can!

I'm not even sure if I should PM the Rep again or not.

Clearly, it did no good the first time. :/

Edit: Wait. Wrong group- Fortune Lounge group. Sorry D:

It's been brought to my attention that members are still getting spammed by affiliates of Spin Palace.

Could you please start posting the affiliate links of these spam emails in this thread (disabling the link please) so that we can take further action? Thank you.

I personally have no idea how to find the affiliate links. All the mails I receive don't have any aff links in them, they have a link to a website which redirects to another website and then the download is Spin Palace. Maybe the affiliate tag is built into the download button code? :confused: Maybe KK will know.

The domain name of the referred to link is good enough. :)

I received a spam email from Spin Palace a few days ago only. It was from them or so they say..
I'm sure it's not one of theirs because it's not set out like a typical or usual Spin Palace email material. Second thing is that it's inviting me to take advantage of the first depositors bonus of 200% . Triple my deposit. Valid only for 24 hours.
Only I already have an account there and have had for 2 years now. I play there every month or so and as recently as this week and last week. There is no reason they should send me this invitation. It didn't look genuine by any means . The logo was there and the sender was spinpalace@spinpalace.com. There is 2 click here links and 2 visit casino links.

Another thing is that Spin Palace is also getting into the facebook casino play. I clicked on a facebook casino game and it took me to a site where it said Galaxy Grp is a part of Spin Palace and then took you to the download stage of Spin Palace.. I did not accept the application and closed it. I have been inundated with more spam from many different casinos since that two weeks ago.
The email in question was sent to me on 12th May. And signed by Casino Manager Anna Curtis.

I used to get loads from one called spcasino but they have now stopped coming to me.
Instead i get them from one called bet2day, which goes to a website called bet2day, but when you click on install it goes on to install betway.

Betway is also part of the Palace Group now, aren't they?

Yes, they are.

BTW, I checked out the 2 URLs in your earlier post, and they both displayed the exact same website.
Whoever is behind this has been very clever to disguise who they are, as the source code can not be viewed and I couldn't locate any affy links.
This adds more fuel to the suspicion that the Palace Group themselves are behind this spam... :(

Those were the only two websites from the 40 or so mails in my junk folder that were still active, the spammer has had multiple previous domains (that were probably shut down for spam) but when this loads it's loading from another domain spwinsclub(dot)com

I'm actually able to view the source code with firebug so I'm seeing if there's anything interesting - maybe I should copy it all and paste it here...?

There's a huge amount of javascript, but I found this which looks like the casino client is downloaded from the spammer's server and not from Spin Palace

function launchDownload(ul,afterPage) {
ul = ul || "en";
afterPage = afterPage || "getting-started/";
if (_isMac) {
var width = $(window).width() - 100;
var height = $(window).height() - 100;
var top = $(window).height() / 2 - height / 2;
var left = $(window).width() / 2 - width / 2;
} else {
window.location = "../downloads/sp-casino-setup-" + ul + ".exe"
setTimeout(function(){window.location=afterPage},2500);
}
}

But it's also running scripts directly from Spin Palace

<script src="http://www.thepalacegroup.com/scripts/tickerScript.js"></script>

So far I'm not able to find any affiliate tags though. :rolleyes:

More from this same guy
www(dot)spgoldgamew(dot)net

And now I'm also getting the Betway ones - I went through the 60 mails I received TODAY and pulled out these links

www(dot)bet2betdot(dot)com
www(dot)bet2betz(dot)com
www(dot)bet2betn(dot)com
www(dot)bet2betk(dot)com
www(dot)bet2bete(dot)com
www(dot)ibet2beta(dot)com
www(dot)ibet2bett(dot)com
www(dot)ibet2beti(dot)com
www(dot)ibet2beto(dot)com

I'm not going to post them all - obviously it's bet2bet or ibet2bet plus a letter of the alphabet . Interestingly though, all of the above are downloading from either
casinobet2day(dot)net
bet2day-casino(dot)net

and none of the downloads work. I don't know if that's because Palace Group has disabled it or the guy didn't set it up right.

But seriously, I'm so sick of this jerk.

That may be because they have made up their own installer, so whenever there is an update the old installer is no longer usable, and since it does not come from the official site, it would have to be manaually "re-stolen" by the affiliate and placed on his sites.

This is clearly no "misunderstanding" between what constitutes spam and allowable promotion. This person knows exactly what they are doing is "hardcore" spamming, and they are no amateur either as they employ many "black hat" skills in staying one step ahead of enforcement.

It seems they design their sites for a short lifetime, but redirect to a pair of disguised longer term domains in order to service the download. The use of their own installer rather than the official one is probably because they have custom built it to contain the affy tag, which removes the need to show it in source listings in their spam domains.

Taking apart their rogue installer may reveal their tag. If the tag is "null", it's not an affiliate at all.

The nickname "spcasino" has appeared in some highly questionable snail mail I received a couple of years ago, and this spammers use of "sp" suggests it's the same bunch behind both this spam and the dodgy snail mail. This points to a rogue direct marketing company, rather than your usual affiliate, and tracking may not be needed as they may have a different kind of contract with Palace group.

I can't believe this person is not doing more harm than good to the Palace Group with this spamming. I know I'm not the only person who has closed my accounts in frustration after numerous complaints about it fell on deaf ears. This has been going on for a LONG time - it started with the fake Ruby Fortune websites, then Spin Palace and now Betway.

Yeah i was also plagued by these.
I ended up reporting the sites as web Forgery's through Firefox
as well as reporting them to Spamcom and Can the Spam

Dont know if it did any good though
