Linx Media Group Company Statement

21. August 2009

MALTA The Linx Media Group has today announced that it is seeking to put its businesses into liquidation and will cease trading with immediate effect.

As yet, the Linx Media Group does not know how long this process will take, but it will provide updates on the situation as and when information becomes available and when liquidators are appointed.

A company spokesperson from the Linx Media Group stated: It is with great regret that we make this announcement. I appreciate the concern and frustration that this will inflict on the Eurolinx, BetOnBet, and Linx Casino player community. Affected account holders are those individuals who have agreed to a contractual relationship with the Linx Media Group through Eurolinx, BetOnBet and Linx Casino. All available player funds are held by these businesses. As soon as we have information on how to lodge claims with the liquidators, we will communicate this via www.eurolinx.com, www.BetOnBet.com and www.linxcasino.com.

I did not lose any money in this, luckily my state was banned from Microgaming years ago, but I know a lot of people who did lose money. It is time to really press Microgaming and for people in the indistry to realize they are a sham. Years ago Microgaming was a name you could trust but first Tusk and now this. It shows Microgaming has no concern for what their licensed skins do and no concern for player funds being help separate or safely. If they turn their heads again on this they need to be marked as a rogue software provider as it seems they clearly don't care about players or legit licensees concerns. I can't think of more than a handful of Microgaming skins I would want even owing me $100 right now.

If I were a skin owner I would be furious, this just devalued your property no matter how strong your brand is. Players everywhere are left to wonder if they can trust any MG site. I hope the skins push MG to make this and Tusk right or risk losing the entire business in the long run.

Are we really to a point where we can say Microgaming is one of the shadier companies in this industry? Who ever thought this day would come?

Wel, I do lose money, I have a pending withdrawl for 120, not that much but still..
What really bothers me is the mail I got thursday from linx, with nice deposit offers, mind me, but they already knew they were bankrupt, right?
What a bunch of crooks!
Lesson learned, I'll stick to 32RED and Spin Palace from now on.

The perfect storm is brewing (hopefully a good thing) but the most surprising has been the few MG's casinos I still have accounts at treatment of it's long time loyal customers.

Of course this does not compare to Jet's news but throw in the uncertainty of the EWX current situation and the new international ACH requirements and the impetus behind it, anything is possible!!

EDIT:there is another US issue but not comfortable mentioning, maybe ATB. Not enough players, not enough to be an on-going concern.

The fact they were sending reload offers out to thousands of players in the past week is very suspect. They knew their days were numbered and they couldn't pay anybody that deposited so it isn't absurd to say they are guilty of fraud there even if the bankruptcy wasn't fraud itself.

This could also be SERIOUS fraud. It is a corporate crime known as "trading whilst insolvent", and company directors are the ones held responsible. Sadly, the penalties are a bit lame, even here in the UK, and there have been many cases of companies trying to trade their way out of a hole, whilst knowing full well they could no longer meet their liabilities. If they succeed, no-one ever finds out, but it is when they fail that a far larger amount of customer's money is lost than would have been the case if they ceased trading as soon as they realised they could not honour their obligations.
In many cases, the high ranking employees, directors, and owners know the end is coming, and they have an opportunity to make sure THEY never lose out when the ship finally sinks. It is lesser employees, and customers, that suffer the loss when intention to liquidate is announced
because they have NO advance notice whatsoever, and can do nothing to protect THEIR funds.

What is worrying here is that this is YET ANOTHER case of an MGS casino/poker operation going bust, and in pretty much the same way ("business as usual", MGS notified of intention to liquidate, license pulled, THEN players get told when it is too late to move funds out)

There is STILL no conclusion to the TUSK liquidation for POKER players, and here we go again, with the full expectation that players here too will get NOTHING back from MGS.
It is too early to tell what will happen to CASINO players, and in the past MGS have had a reputation that there was some "insurance fund" of last resort to ensure that a player NEVER lost out to an operator going bust. The TUSK issue blew a big hole in this idea, and if CASINO players lose out in this case, this part of the trust element of playing at an MGS casino will be sunk forever.
This will be a HUGE disaster for MGS if the industry were to suddenly pick up following a reopening of the US market, since players would know there was no such thing as this "insurance fund", and may well suspect it never existed at all, and that it was all a "lie" whose truth was fuelled by the fact that the industry was robust enough that MGS was never facing having to pay out to players, because they were always able to persuade a new operator to take on the liability of existing funds when buying the casino assets of the liquidated operator. In the case of Integrity casinos, Casino Rewards bailed MGS out by taking over the casinos. Casino Rewards AGAIN bailed out 6 MGS casino skins when TUSK went under. Casino Rewards do NOT have infinite resources, yet they seem to be the only operator interested in this particular type of salvage. If Casino Rewards is not interested in these MGS casinos, who else might be. From what I can see, groups are cutting DOWN on the number of casinos they operate, and the only value would seem to be a player base, some of whom may already have accounts at a group taking them over.
Players should hope that Casino Rewards are still interested in the salvage value of failed MGS casinos, since this route would be much faster than the liquidation process, and from the TUSK affair, it is likely that negotiations and bids are already in progress (from any number of groups, or even a completely new operator)- but in strictest confidence at present.

Hi folks i just went to linx casino to redowload the softare and deposit and his is the message i found online there, not sure if I am posting it in the correct form, so please excuse me if i am not, the message is below, also I am an affiliate there so I am sure this means I wont be getting paid my commission for last month!!!! Just for the record in this thread, (there are about three threads running on this at the moment here) this is the official Linx Media statment:

Linx Media has registered offices in Malta, which I presume means that they have taken out licensing there?

If that is the case then it will be interesting to see what, if any, regulations the LGA licensing authority imposes on licensees requiring that certain amounts be safely and seperately deposited against such an event as business failure.

And whether any such requirements are enforced.

I got paid last week from a $75 tourn win at Linx casino-on the 18 of august, I actually got paid a lot quicker than my last two tourn wins at Linx casino, they paid in five days (including the weekend) I to got the reload offers the other day-but knew they were a sinking casino.

Thanks for the post jetset.

The only thing I have lost for Linx casino (MG) Is my tourn entry into the 1 Million euro tourn.

I also got this promo yesterday (21 august) I will copy paste it in for you>

Doing some digging to find out who the people are behind this group.

I received an email offering me free spins about 16 hours ago! Seriously disturbing.

On the Malta registry of companies (Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) ), the company registration is C 40689 Eurolinx limited.

The names Linx Media Group, BetOnBet and Linx Casino are not registered as such in this registry.

Moreover, on 18/08/2009 Eurolinx made alterations to its Memorandum of Articles as well as updated its Memorandum & Articles of Association.

On this site, I failed to find the names of the natural persons involved and couldn't access the changed or original articles and memoranda.

My best guess: Account holders won't see much money back from non-existent entities and somehow the shareholders/managers changed the company structure as such that they feel confident to start frauding a little last bit of deposits out of people.

Now let's make it straight... I am owed more than 1000 euro by Linx casino. I played there only 2 weeks ago. And I am 99% sure that they will never pay me this money!
Now let's ask one more time- who should we blame??? Linx casino??? A bunch of losers and liars! Who else? Microgaming??? I think so! But Microgaming seems not to care!
Please ,explain me why Microgaming and Playtech are still considered to be respectful entities at this website! Player's advocate website? Both of these biggest companies has proved many times over these years that they are ready to let to their licensees to steal from it's players!
Now I am robbed!
Thank you Casinomeister! That was an accredited robbery!

Doing some digging to find out who the people are behind this group.

One of\if not the main guy, is called "Jo Arild Remme", and I just found out that he is from the same district as me here in Norway. (I am in no way linked to this guy)

He has been in "trouble" before, with pyramide schemes and other projects going bust.

(Im not out to stain the guy, you asked, I knew the answer, so I answered.)

Sorry for those of you who lost money in this. How a company that seemingly has a large player base and rakes in guranteed profits in poker-rake and have the house edge on their side in the casinogames can go bust like this is beyond me...

Yes, they only cared how much rake they could take before Eurolinx went bust. They knew of the Eurolinx problems. Personally I now have one MG account open and have seized my play on it pending my resolution. Even if its a casino account, its the same MG scumbags that provide the software.

And about the company and the licenses:
"Eurolinx" is a company owned by Eurolinx International NV, whose offices are held at PO Box 6052, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. It is marketed by same through an exclusive agreement with Eurolinx Ltd, whose offices are held at Vincenti Buildings, Suite 409, 14/19 Strait Street, Valletta Malta. Eurolinx shall heretoafter be referred to as the "Company."

Eurolinx is licensed in Curacao under the master license #5536/JAZ.

So no Malta license here.

The players at Eurolinx and BetOnBet are in a much better position than those at TUSK IMO. There are "bigger" names and they are much more likely to be taken over by another poker room. Cake perhaps? They already had some negotiations with Battlefield and RedNines during the beginning of the TUSK fiasco.

The casino players are in a worse position and in the mercy of the liquidators. The customer base is probably worth zilch. Worth to remember is that the casinos in TUSK group had known brands and a large player database and was taken over by Casino Rewards with costs under one million AUD. A good deal IMO.
I cant see how any operator would like to take over the Linx casino with its liabilities, because as I said earlier the player database isnt probably worth much.
So their only hope IMO lies in that Eurolinx and BetOnBet and their liabilities are taken over by another room.

And I think this was the final blow to the already tarnished reputation of Microgaming Poker Network. Some bigger affiliates have already stopped promoting all MG poker rooms. So there will basically be Ladbrokes/Unibet left.

Eh? Excuse me? These guys lost their "Accreditation" over a year ago. The operator lied to my face when it came to a major player issue - this was broadcast all over the internet to include 2+2. Where were you?? :what:

When I yanked them off of the site, you should have stopped playing there.

They have also been on our PAB no-can-do list
https://www.casinomeister.com/casino-complaints/no-can-do-list/

So if you fail to read the writing on the wall (or on this site), you have yourself to blame for this, not me.

So please keep your troll-like comments to yourself - thanks

Casinomeister doesnt miss much at all I can tell you, and he still finds time to get into the garden to do weeding.

"Please note: We do not license www.eurolinx.com or www.betonbet.com"

I also scoured the LGA and was unable to find Betonbet's or Eurolinx cancelled or suspended license. They do not appear to be currently licensed. I know when all of the mess that got Eurolinx decertified here Jo Remme offered for any mod at 2+2 to visit Malta to tour the facilities on them. It would seem impossible that they would openly operate in Malta without a license wouldn't it? Maybe I just can't find it.

Whoa! More shocking revelations regarding the operations of this outfit and its management.

If it is true that Jo Remme and his colleagues were operating without a licence whilst telling players that they were licensed, it would probably amount to criminal fraud and be actionable against the individuals concerned.

@hakapuku - may I suggest iGoggles :p (see current Casinomeister News)

I'm told that Remme has claimed his licensing is (was) as follows:

Eurolinx poker licensed in Curacao

Betonbet licensed in Malta

Linx Casino licensed in KGC.

If this is true, the only charitable explanation for the lack of information reported by PA and Wang I can think of is that the registrations may have been done under the name of another group company.

It has to be either that, or blatant and fraudulent falsehoods?

Another article. The headline is "Norwegian behind poker-bankruptcy" "Lured people in with deposit-bonuses until the end".

I was planning on taking up some of those bonuses, shure as hell glad I did'nt..

Good sleuthing, guys!

I'm getting conflicting signals here from Norway - one of our contacts says about the Norwegian articles linked by Pulver:

"It would appear to refer to Jo Renne being a victim of a pyramid scheme and playing a role in uncovering it, not the perpetrator."

That shouldn't distract us from the circumstances in the Linx Media failure as far as I am concerned - or from Remme behaviour in his dealings with the Casinomeister, which were questionable imo.

I am quoting the last paragraph of the article.

In short words it says: A little over a hundred members, with the trio Alf Lyster, Sverre Magnar Gallefoss and Kjetil Rasmussen have hired a lawyer and are preparing lawsuits against Kristian Fredriksen, Per Inge Maridal and Jo Arild Remme

Well, it is possible that the reporter who wrote that article made a mistake. It wouldn't be the first time

That is possible, but in one of the other articles I linked to (

it says in the heading "Pyrmaide-norwegian central in poker-collapse". Further down they write that:

"Jo Arild Remme was listed as CEO of the company Eurolinx, the earlier profiled pyramide-mainman is again central in controversial businesses."

So when they mention it in several articles, I guess they have their facts straight.

They also write that some players may have as much as $140 000 in locked accounts... Now thats bad..

I was just going to post what deucebag said, hehe.

In respect for Casinomeister I will not link to another gambling forum, but there is a very interesting thread about the same topic at the 2+2 forum. Just search for "Eurolinx" and it will pop right up.

Hi guys,

I have a few questions if anybody can answer them.

1) Does MGS provide its poker operations under its class 4 Maltese licence?

2) If so, does the licence stipulate that the skin must actually hold a licence in some jurisdiction? This Link Removed ( Old/Invalid) does show the skin holding a licence, but doesn't say if it's required to fulfil the Maltese licensing obligations.

3) Does anybody have a contact in MGS so they can find out of MGS confirmed that Eurolinx were in fact licenced in Curacao before letting them join the network?

Given what is being uncovered, how did they manage to fool Microgaming into granting them the software operating license. If forum members can find all this out, why were a PROFESSIONAL outfit such as MGS unable to find all of this out, and start asking the relevant questions, and requiring substantive answers, before either granting, or renewing, software operating licenses.

This case should also expose once and for all this seeming myth about the MGS "trust fund" that promises a "last resort" return of player CASINO funds if all else fails.

It used to be thought this "trust fund" covered the MGS POKER platform too, but then TUSK came along................

If MGS have allowed players to believe in a "trust fund" that has never existed, they have surely committed a deception by omission, since they must have been aware that a key bond of trust between players and MGS casinos was based on the believed existence of this "trust fund", even though it was never called upon in earnest till the TUSK poker collapse. I believe the few other MGS casino operator failures were dealt with by selling the assets cheaply to another operator, who agreed to underwrite the liabilities (balances owed to players) in exchange for the player base and skins for a "knock down" price. This happened when Integrity casinos failed (Captain Cooks etc), and recently for the 6 TUSK casinos, both lots were picked up by Casino Rewards (one reason why they have SO MANY casino skins).

Just to add,

Having looked into the class 4 licence a little more, it appear that this may not allow the holder to operate a poker network where they take a portion of the rake. If MGS are not running their poker network under a Maltese licence, where exactly are they licenced?

Had completely forgot the EULA of the casino software. So the players at Linx casino are in the best position.

5. Limitation of Liability
5.1. In no event will Microgaming or its licensees be liable to you for any consequential, indirect, pure economic, or incidental damages, or for any lost profits or lost savings, even if a Microgaming representative has been advised of the possibility of such loss, damages, claims, or costs, or for any claim by any third party. Microgamings aggregate liability and that of its supplies under or in connection with this agreement shall be limited to the amount paid for the software, if any. Nothing contained in this agreement limits Microgamings liability to you in the event of death or personal injury arising from Microgamings negligence.

But they of course have the if any. And the players would still have to wait for the liquidation.

And the BOB players shouldnt actually jump trough the roof for them being licensed in Malta. What I have heard they didnt keep any player funds in a segregated account. So basically they can take legal action against Jo Remme like in the Goldvictory case.

And to correct my previous post. I see it very unlikely that the EL and BOB players are to be taken over by another room. The sums are most probably higher than in TUSK and there are over 1 million in "pending" cashouts.

If someone would have said to me 2 years ago that MG will be there with the likes of Futurebet I would have laughed. Now I know better.
They played a big role in the TUSK fiasco by advising the skins to go with TUSK/MPP which was at that time a company in very bad shape.
And in this case they knew about the problems for months and the Linx group couldnt have been in good financial position when they bought BOB in March this year and opened the casino in April.
But hey, they got rake, license fees etc. A no lose situation for them.

Personally I stopped all my play at anything that has something to do with MG. I prefer not to give any money, indirectly tough, to scumbags of this caliber.

And every serious poker affiliate should stop promoting MG poker rooms. Kudos to those that already have. I wouldnt be surprised if a certain room at the network would fold in a few months. Wont say which room, but I guess some of you might know.

Eurolinx Out of Business---Turns out to be HUGE SCAM

My condolences to everyone that got screwed by this scam of a site.

Luckily for me, I beat the rush, and got screwed by them over 16 months ago for $145,000, and posted by warnings on here and 2+2.

I hope I was able to save a few dollars to players that paid some heed to my warnings back in April 2008 (when CM removed EL from the accredited list due to my case)

Again, my condolences to those that lost their rolls.

Marc"myst"Karam, Eurolinx sponsored player, recently posted his story at 2+2. Very interesting and gives a hint when EL started to go downwards. In June 2008, so way before they bought BetOnBet and started Linx Casino.

Also one affected player actually got a response from MG which was the following:

Thank you for your e-mail.

We are shocked and saddened that this has happened to one of our licensees.

We are currently unable to discuss anything regarding the situation as we are still waiting on further information ourselves. Information will be released as and when it becomes available.

Please understand that Microgamings activities are limited to providing software and poker network services. In keeping with the practises of other service providers, whether software or otherwise, Microgaming does not manage the business activities of its operators. Microgaming does not have any right to see the financial records or accounts of its operators.

Microgaming does not (and is not permitted to) hold player funds. We recommend that you lodge a claim directly with the liquidator as and when information becomes available. Microgaming will be taking this course of action, as should all creditors.

Thank you once again for your e-mail.

So they say they are shocked. Really? Several players reported months ago about problems with EL/BOB.

They say they just provide the network and software. And whats the BS about not being permitted to hold player funds? That should be the practice for every poker network. Still they handle the site to site transfers, banning etc.
And about not being permitted to see any finacial records of their licensees. So basically every non-traded casino or poker room can go bust the next day without MG having a clue. Just start a casino or poker room and start to scam people. And EL/BOB would probably still be operating if they hadnt "invited" MG to their offices.

And to those that have their rolls there. There probably will not be any liquidation. Because theres apparently so llittle money left that it wouldnt be enough to pay the liquidators.
Have a "semi"friend that managed to dump his entire roll of ~8k. Wonder how much dumping went on over the summer?

Edit: so if you want to be safe playing at MG choose a PLC. 32Red, Unibet or Ladbrokes.
