Can't download PMs - can anyone help?

My mailbox at CM is full, so I need to delete the old ones.
Before I do this I usually download a back-up copy just in case I want to go back later for reference.
I managed to download about 30 or so a week or so ago via CSV, but since then every attempt I've made produced an error message, as shown below.

I get the same thing whether I select XML, CSV or TEXT.
I'm using Windows XP professional and ie8. I've also tried it with Windows 7 + ie8, and with FireFox, but get the same result.
Anyone know what's going on & how to solve it?

I also download PM`s. I do not know how to help you, but just wanted to mention that it works fine in my account. Just downloaded some without any problems

I can't do it either, and I'm using Firefox - but I have a kajillion PMs

My situation is the same as Bryan and KK, using Firefox 3.6.x.

I just downloaded messages as xml with no problem.
win7 + Explorer 9

Chrome works for me on a win 7 machine. I've gotten to the point till I use chrome 99% of the time. It's faster than ff.
