[ROGUE] Another Absolute Poker Complaint

Well can you believe that I actually have a complaint about this site? Thankfully this issue is not off a deposit but rakeback that I received from some time ago.

I registered for a $50 Multi-table tournament and when I was transferred to my seat the software froze and logged me out. I thought it was odd cause nothing like that had ever happened to me. I tried it several more times and the same thing kept happening. So I repaired my internet connection, re-installed the software, and restarted my computer. However the same thing kept happening to me. I was certain that this problem was with their software since my internet was fine and even more convincing I was able to connect to pokerstars and fulltilt without any issues what so ever.

I wrote to technical support and they wrote me back basically insisting this was my fault and that they were not going to issue a refund. In my 4 years of playing online poker I don't think I have ever seen a site refuse a refund due to a technical problem regardless of whose fault. And in this instance it was most certainly not my fault. I guess I really can't be surprised by this sites behavior but hopefully someone can help me.

My last experience at Absolute.

I registered for a $25 buy in $8000 guaranteed NL Tournament at Absolute cheaters (poker).

I played well. When the tourney had only two tables left and it was obvious I was going to the last table, I got locked out of the tournament.

After being locked out of the tournament, I could still move about the Absolute Poker site, I could even go and sit down at a cash ring game and play, play blackjack for real money, I even registered for another tournament (didn't play it though)....

But I could NOT get back into that $8000 guaranteed tournament, I could not even see the tournament table... Until after the tournament was over. Although, I had no problem watching any other table play during this time.

I blinded out in the money... I made $56. However, I was the tourney chip leader (three times more chips than the #2 guy, when I was locked out) and I was a shoe-in to place in the top three.

When I contacted Absolute Poker they told me they would not even refund my $25 buy-in because I had "won" money in the tournament...

One more note, there were not enough players in the $8000 guaranteed tourney to cover the entire $8000.

Absolute Cheaters are a bunch of out right crooks...

SeattleSinner - I hope you get your problem taken care of... But these folks at Absolute are absolutely thieves...

Wow thats even worse than me. What explanation did they give you for being locked out, id love to hear that one. The intelligence of the support staff at AP seizes to amaze me. I asked them if the problem was due to my connection, memory, ram, etc... why was I able to connect to pokerstars and fulltilt poker? They responded by telling me that their program runs in real time so it takes up more memory. I almost fell off my chair laughing, I guess they don't even know what other poker sites are.

Seattle, was this in the last day or two? There have been a ton of complaints about maintaining connections to AP and not being able to et refunds in the last couple of days. Maybe it's time for a change? The retroactive change to bonus terms and all these complaints from people about connections that aren't getting refunds are just icing on the cake.

This happened the night of the 18th. I won't be making deposits there any longer and I think it is just a matter of time before this place goes under. I would not keep any large amounts of money in here.

wangpoker is very cool!wangpoker is very cool!
AP may be not able to solve the problem. This problem may be at the server end or the software's glitch. I don't know.

Everytime a tournament begins the screen is freezing or players are kicked out with error message in the chat box. Payers have to go to the tournament lobby and click "take the seat" many times to get it done. It's weird. I have experienced this problem all the day.

I only play freeroll for fun at AP.

As you guys know Absolute Poker is already on the Rogue list so there's not a lot we can do for you on this one. That said, I will let them know about this complaint.

In all honesty one of the reason I continue to play at AP is because they are the only ones that accept U.S. debit cards. I'm not sure why they are able to while other sites like PokerStars and FullTilt cannot, but none the less its a matter of convenience. However in light of this and other shady business practices I don't think I'm going to be playing there any longer.
