Morning all,

Just a quick survey/opinion poll.

The progressive Party Feature at JPP.

Now I have been playing there since late December. I am sure I am giving them at least £250 a month.

My normal play is between 30-60p a spin with the occasional 90p+ if the balance permits.

Now in this whole time I have only had the JPP Feature once, on my first play there when I had a 12 hour play.

What are peoples thoughts?

Your chances are all geared up to bet size. I have played sessions at £6 a spin where I have had it 2 or 3 times in an evening and sometimes not at all. But at £6 a spin, I am betting 20x as much as someone at 30p per spin and am therefore 20 more times likely to hit it. Irrespective of your bet size, the RTP of the slot remains the same (around 92%) and the progressive contribution remains the same (2.99%).

Cheers Simmo,

I would like to think that I would still have seen a bit of that 3% that contributes to the feature. When I see people have clocked up 150+ stars, they must be max betting all night every night.

Because the RTP of the base games is so slow thats what puts me off the higher stakes. Dont get me wrong, I have had £500+ wins on Black Night and Ruby Slippers from 60p spins, but it really seems to be all or nothing at JPP. It seems tough to get a double/triple your money and walk position out of it.

I would love to play £6 a spin with the monthly match bonus so starting with £200 but I would instantly fear the worst on those slots as much as I love some of them, not much room for a drubbing.

think i had it 4 times in a few months, but thats playing too much and losing too much too, bets ranging minimum up to £3 and had it trigger at either range of those :) - self excluded myself for 6 months and occasionally play the same games at unibet minus the progressives, and the extra rtp in the base games, still they can eat a balance :)

if you look at some of the videos they have up on youtube you will see that even £6 per spin is modest compared to some of the players there, £50 spins on wizard of oz for example...

I got it today at £3.00 a spin

The other day I converted my loyalty points £5 and got it at £0.30 p a spin. Got the second level too :)

I have gone for months without getting it too

I like the thrill when you get it but the lower RTO on base game gets a bit wearisome

I really like slots where you might get a surprise at the end of the spin... You know like Mega Moolah and that Egg one. The one where it lays an egg and gives you 50p. Golden Goose, that's it. I think I'd enjoy Jackpot Party.

So is it essentially any game that lets you hit the same progressive? A bit like the 'Party Time' slots in UK Arcades?

On any slot you can trigger it - the higher you bet the better chance you have of getting it - same as Mega Moolah . Once you are in it doesn't matter how much your bet was you stand same chance of hitting the big one :)

Think I'm right in saying that you can trigger it on any game, not just slots.

A fella got it off a roulette spin while I was on there and was going bananas about it on chat.

I've had it about 12 times on lots of different stakes over a year and a half or so. About half the time I picked collect on the very first pick. Seriously.

I had two stars one and one star probably 3 times. I've also gone months without it. I just don't think about it any more and focus on the game I'm playing instead. I actually don't like the progressive that much because the noise scares the HELL out of me and I hardly ever find stars. I just pick really quickly now to try and get it over with as quickly as possible.

The chances of hitting it are so small unless you bet really big.

good luck!

LOL I know exactly what you mean ! Nearly gives you a heart attack !!

Progressives have to be a matter of personal taste.
My rule for progressives is that I have to enjoy the base game and feel I have a reasonable chance of a base game payout irrespective of the possibility of a jackpot

I find I'll play the progressives on William Hill Vegas because the base game frequently throws out nice hits, and if I'm in a retro mood the rapid fire jackpot slots on Intercasino

Haven't touched an MGS progressive since 2008 (though I play plenty of their other games) and can't be doing with Jackpot party at all

CHRIST ALMIGHTY! How do I turn that chat window off!??!?

For F***s sake! STOP TALKING AT ME!???

Is there a way I can make it go away?

Ta.

Ask the chathost for some 'lucky dust' and then if that doesn't work, 'beg for Glinda' and count to 3, and the chat window disappears.:D

I don't think you can? Ask Chopley lol I have learnt to ignore it. "slippers"," oh just "1 -" i Haven't won for years"" this site is so greedy" aaahhhhhhhhhh lol

I can't deal with that. Seriously? There's no way to get rid of it? That's a MASSIVE oversight IMHO.

I can't ignore it. I could for a bit, but if I saw someone asking for lucky dust or complaining about the gambling pixie not fluttering over their monitor - I wouldn't be able to contain myself. Which would almost certainly culminate in me being banned at the very least, and possibly Police involvement.

I can't believe a site would inflict that on people.

do players actually ask for the lucky dust? I would laugh myself silly if I saw that happen

You would be amazed at the rubbish they spout and they talk to the "host" if there is one there like the host can control who wins etc.

@ Slotster try advice Patriot gave !Hopefully that will work ;)

I psml at the ones who say they are leaving , not coming back , etc yawn yawn cos they never win . Next day there they are again lol!

Another way of getting rid of chat is to just go into Privacy Mode, you'll keep the win feed and be able to see the progressives, but won't be able to see chat at all :)

Personally I leave it turned on most of the time, just for the giggles.

I do think they're random but they're just like all progressives, a massively high variance extra game on top of the normal slots.

I'm up to something like 30,000 spins since I last saw one. Last year I had two 1-stars in an evening......

3% is a brutal contribution to the progressives, and leaves the base games down at a miserly 92%.

I only play at Jackpot Party these days when there's a bonus involved or some sort of cashback offer.

Yeah, but I hate to point out you won't now be bestowed with any 'lucky dust':eek:

I remember one evening that the 0-star climbed up to well over £200 (which is pretty unusual), and the host at the time was really well into the territory of an 'enticement to gamble' IMO.

Stuff like 'Oh it's got to go soon' and 'Someone has to win it?' and 'Good luck everyone keep spinning!'

I was half-minded to complain but then I realised I couldn't be arsed.

How does that work out then?
If the Random Jackpot contribution is 2.99%, and the house edge on Roulette is 2.7%...

different games (ever so slightly) different chances then? and stake also varying the percentage chance. I guess the type of game you pick is just another factor then. If I'm reading this correctly.

The two little arrows up top between the game and the JPP hide the chat window/JPP sidebar. I turn it off too :D

We like similar games in general I think so try Wizard Of Oz Ruby Slippers, Bruce Lee, Palace Of Riches Zeus and Black Knight mate. They are all relatively high variance. "Kiss" is superb too and on the slightly lower side of medium variance.

Aside from the dross that gets churned out on the JPP chat, I actually feel it's a very clever thing they have going on there.
Some people like to gamble alone, it's their own time and own space. A lot more people like to gamble in company. Take the atmosphere of a buzzing Blackjack table in a live casino - good dealer, nice set of lively players, maybe throw in a deck that's running hot for most people, you just can't buy that entertainment alone. It's a great buzz, and brings gambling a little closer to what it should be, fun.
Now a chat window is not going to get anywhere close, but I have had some pretty good conversations on there when there right mix of people are online. Whether it be banter, or a more serious topic. I repeat again, you just have to filter out the crap mentally, or use it as entertainment.
It's not quite as bad as a bingo site - you don't see that much lucky dust to be fair, or that kind of multi-coloured text with half-ass drawn poor pixies and mountains of coins.
The site does well to tolerate all the people who moan and moan - it could be construed as a bad advert for them all the negativity, but very little is censored in that regard, but they do come down on you for serious infractions of etiquette or politeness. However they really need to sort out their chat filter that is over zealous to say the least.
If I log on to JPP and bump into a few respected fellow players, then I'll want to say hi and have a quick chat on the state of gambling affairs. That's a draw for me, I think other sites would do well to follow suit on more social interaction.
You will always get the cyber beggars, the cyber moaners, that's human nature - frustration at losses needs an avenue to be vented and if it's the alternative to chucking the laptop down the stairs, then the chat box is a good thing.
I only recently opened up the 3Dice chat client, and to be fair, very little is said on there by way of conversation - you don't get as much dross, but it got a little irksome that the chat window is constantly filled up with slot tournament winners rather than a good conversation to follow or join in with. Maybe I hit a couple of slow days in there, who knows.
Anyway, in summary I think some people need the chat box, to feel closer maybe to other people and gain some sense of community that takes the 'on your own' feeling away from the physical environment you may be playing in. I regard it as an extra avenue of gaming experience that the lesser initiated who have no concept of how RTP's and RNG's work utilise as a social enhancer to a possibly anti-social pastime. Maybe, you're like me and use the chat sparingly, but like the option to let people know you're out there.
We all know it's sickly sweet, the big bad money making machine is hiding behind it all, just waiting to pound your wallet good and proper, regardless of the bells and whistles that are implemented on the journey to succeed in that aim, but if I can tip my cyber hat to a comrade in the trenches, or congratulate the person who just hit the 4 star progressive, or even take part in the quiz, then it's going to make me want to come back for more.

I have been playing Bruce Lee and the WOO pair a bit - agreed - they are great slots. Not tried Kiss yet as the general theme put me off - but I will get straight on that!

Cheers!

It's exactly the same psychology they employed when coming up with those awful multiplayer sit-down AWP's 15 years ago, like Party Time in the amusements arcades. Create a convivial community feeling, make the ridiculous money-suckers seem 'social' and players relax and spend more.
Only sit-down multiplayer AWP's never had idiots offering you 'lucky dust' :D

The concept works much better in the USA from what I've seen. I sat at a few of those Party Time machines back then and no-one really interacted whereas on the similar games in Vegas, people seem to get more involved.

Yes, listening to halfwits may be entertaining to some, but I find it completely cringeworthy the guff they spout. They sound like desperate unintelligent addicts or victims of gambling. At least the ultimate cretinous remark is absent from your example - the l**** d***

Edit: it must be "back". I don't think I'd tolerate this kind of thing while I'm playing slots.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Ha ha ha.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

I've seen him down the casino licking the reels with one trouser leg up doing a full 360 degree spin before pressing the button.

I think the "Here's Glinda bless her" is my favourite. His relief is palpable - and disgustingly tragic.

Not sure if you guys know this, but if you click on the player's PlayerID in chat, you can block them so you don't see their posts in chat if they're annoying (in addition to reporting players who break chat rules).

Also, you can "follow" people you enjoy talking to and send them private messages/know when they come online.

I kinda enjoy the chat.
First time I joined JPP they always talked about "Glinda" now I haven't seen OZ since I was a small child (30 now) so I had actually no idea who it was.

There is one guy that always writes "WD" or "WTG" if anyone wins.

But it would be fun if there was anyone from CM that one could say hi to.

Next time I play I gonna snipe Chopley and wish him lucky dust ..oo*”"”**oo.oo*”"*oo....oo*”"”**oo and all that.
