Recent Firefox update may cause problems.

Soooooo, is this gonna be one of those `Don`t fix unbroken things` moments?, looks like it to me, just what we need, another bug ridden FF update when there was bugger all wrong with the old version /sigh :rolleyes:.

FF.webp

Or is it just me experiencing this?.

Not just you mate, almost 80% of my add-ons are not working any more  and not 1 flash casino is working atm.

so I am back to using chrome for now, which I am starting to like more and more.

Damn, I just knew that would be the case, personally I prefer Opera (Turbo option), but several places don`t recognise it, if you play at any bingo sites then Opera is way smoother than FF and IE.

Hopefully the add-on`s will be updated soon.

Note to Firefox dev`s, when you have an update in the wings then give the add-on dev`s the new codes so they can re-script their add-ons ffs.

You don't have to update FF just because it tells you to.

Next time you don't want to update, just click on one of your favorites and navigate away from that page that tells you to upgrade. I did this tonight and I am happily typing away on my old version.

It caught me unaware`s, if the problem persists i`ll do a roll back ;).

LOL! I've actually "passed" on the last 3 upgrades. Sometimes I doubt these are upgrades, but rather downgrades. It's kind of like the government say they are here to help you. Now, if I could just skip these RTG new lobby version upgrades............ :D

Having been in the software biz I do have some empathy for what the FF guys must go through with one of their updates. That said though I almost never grab an update -- particularly a major update -- until it's had a chance to age a bit. Giving it a bit of time lets things settle and allows the extension builders do their catch-up thing. Being on the bleeding edge of browser tech is not something I find I enjoy very much.

Knowing how articulate you are Max, how many times did/would you go live with an update with no beta testing? ;).

It seems that this problem is related to browser UA strings. I'm using FF 10 and encountered the same problem while trying to use 32 Red flash client. When I changed the UA to IE 6.0 WinXP, the flash casino worked like a charm.

If you use FF, the UA is easily changed with a PrefBar add-on/extension (among others).

That cured the problem tyvm .

"No beta testing"? Never, as you might imagine, but I think (a) it's easy to conflate insufficient beta testing and no beta testing and (b) I don't imagine for a second that the FF guys just skip beta testing altogether. One of the truisms of software development is that marketing and sales will always push development to release prematurely, so to speak. :D

There's a Firefox addon that lets you keep using all your addons even if they are marked as incompatible with your current Firefox version. Of course it COULD cause a problem if the addon really is incompatible with your current version, but in most cases your addons are fully compatible, it's just that the addon author hasn't updated the list of compatible versions.

I've been using this method for years and it's never caused a problem, even if an addon really isn't compatible with the latest Firefox version then the worst thing is that the addon simply doesn't work, it doesn't cause any major problem - but using an incompatible addon could in theory cause a bigger problem so don't blame me if anything happens ;)

Just install the following addon (it's an official addon from the Firefox developers) and all your addons will start working again even if they're marked as incompatible with your current version :
