Haven’t Gone Crazy? - Combat Mindset

    I was thinking today:

Me: I should feel bad about losing so much money this week.
Self: For what, you spent at least 300.00 + on playstation games last month and you only play one of them.
Me: I knew you were still holding that against me.
Self: Hey if you feel guilty!
Me: What’s that suppose to mean?

Well perhaps the conversation didn’t go exactly like that but it did make me wonder how do others stay in the wagering fight? I can easily look back at my normal expenses be it a play station game or fast food and say man that was a waste of money. I mean come on 8 dollars for a sandwich, chips, and a drink for one meal. Hell I can go to the grocery store buy a loaf of bread, meat, and chips for less than that and eat on it for a week. So I’m sure we all waste money somewhere.

However, for some reason a slight bit of guilt creeps in after I spend hours or days watching my deposit amount slowly wither away. A part of me thinks it’s money well spent. I had a ton of fun, got to chase “the big hit.” Considering you have a chance to win, I would say all in all a pretty decent investment in time spent when compared to the guy who spends thousands of dollars on gun collecting, of which none he plans on selling none. (I’m not judging…..we love our guns down here in Texas.)

I’m curious to know what keeps y’all in the fight? Some are considered high rollers and as such I’m sure a lot of the jackpot amounts equate to mere free spin features. Do most of you play just for fun and have come to terms with the fact that losing will be a cost of that fun. Or do you hold on to the hope of winning and consider the loses an investment in the bigger hit down the road?

Side note: please excuse me grammar and spelling. If this has been posted before, sorry I was bored. Besides my post count sucks.

In my case gambling online comes out of my entertainment budget - like dinner out or a movie or a bar or whatever, but with online gambling there's the chance (however slight) that there could be some money coming back at the end. Unless I accidentally swallow a piece of glass that got into my food, no way I'm going to hit a jackpot at any restaurant!

I think it's best to just look at it as entertainment and don't spend more than you can afford to lose. If you happen to win something, then that's gravy. Don't get me wrong, I do hope to win - and if I hadn't won in the past I wouldn't get any enjoyment out of playing at all.
