As most of you know, Grand Prive has been in and out of the Rogue Pit for some time - the latest roguing was in December 2009.

Recently, I was contacted by the GP affiliate program manager, asking what it would take to be de-rogued. I thought about this a bit and decided that the best way to deal with this is to put it to a public vote.

To get out of the pit, one is placed into the "Probation Section". For six months, casinos are observed for overall fairness and must avoid screwups. Player issues need to be handled swiftly and professionally. After six months and things are good to go, then they are out of the pit. There have been a number of casinos who have achieved non-rogue status in this manner, while some have failed.

Things to keep in mind: is the managerial team the same team as before? Have they had a major change of staff? Are the problems persistent, or have they diminished?

The purpose of the rogue pit is to inform - not primarily intended to punish. In my opinion, all casinos should be given an opportunity to pick up the pieces and try to put things back together again. The question is: should we put Grand Privé on probation? The choice is yours, please vote.

Find online casinos deemed rogue at Casinomeister
Are you setting up a poll?
or do you just want us to post our opinion?

I think you know my vote... No way!

How many chances are you going to give these guys?
I can see giving outfits in your Rogue Pit a way out, it's only fair.
However, after giving these very same people at grand privy chance after chance, they keep showing that they can't be trusted.

So who wants to be the NEXT big winner at Grand Privy that can't collect their money?

Are you setting up a poll?

I want opinions and for the membership to vote. I have a good idea what affiliates have to say, but I want input from players - and possibly other operators as well. :D

I know I don't say much but on this I will.....my vote is NO!!!

Players should be provided with safe casinos with good reputations so they don't have to worry about being paid.

IMO if Grand Prive would screw affiliates they would also screw players eventually whether it be a year ago, now or year(s) from now.

They made their bed let them lay in it.

I personally have no idea what really happened in the past, but from what I hear it isn't good stuff. I voted yes....on accident, I wanted to vote no, could someone please change it. If not, lol sorry. I need glasses asap.

To err is human to forgive is divine.

You can guess what I voted. :)

Things to keep in mind: is the managerial team the same team as before?

Thats the key for me. If the same management are in place then who's to say they won't do domething down the line? The main issue affected affiliates but it showed a mentality and business ethic that could lead to decisions that cause issues for players or "partners" again one day.

If you have new management then I believe another chance to prove themselves (over a decent length of time) is fair, but only if all past issues have been settled in the correct way.

Even if the management has changed, it sounds like they haven't settled past differences.

Lock / delete this and start a new thread with a poll. Personally, I would want to know how they are handling players this past year. I have read some good things about them as of late, but I'd definitely want to know if management has been changed.

They didn't just shaft affiliates, or screw players, they showed complete disregard to their LICENSING AUTHORITY by "doing a runner" rather than facing the music. They also screwed their software provider, first through a breach of contract, and more recently by LIBELING them in order to pass the blame for the earlier fiasco that got them rogued from themselves, to Microgaming. This libel was RECENT, not "in the past" - it shows that "dirty dealing" is STILL an active business policy of theirs.

Last year, they just didn't care about affiliates, probably because they thought they didn't need them. It is only now that they find they DO need affiliates after all, that they are trying to crawl out of the pit and gain their favour.

"Never" may be too harsh, but "now" is far too early given the extent of their failures.

Perhaps they should settle their differences with affiliates, "come clean" about everything, and release ALL the evidence eCogra wanted to see, and NOT attempt to "cripple" any forthcoming arbitration that might be needed to bring forth a full and final settlement that ALL affiliates can accept.

Next, move to a "proper" licensing jurisdiction (but one that still allows them to accept US players), and ask again about removal from the pit.

i actully got a mail from them yesterday offering me 25 free spins and 100% bonus code didnt take it as i stopped playing threre couple of years ago when all hell broke lose. my first mail from them for over 2 years though so dont know if its a change in tactics or new owners.

I've never been an affiliate aside from some minor dabbling way pre-UGIEA.

I think they should NOT be derogued though, until affiliates are paid in full for revenue. Excusing their previous behavior would be a colossal mistake and continues to set the precedent for casinos that when its time to put their money where their mouth is, they can just do whatever is in their best financial interest regardless of what is correct from a business ethics perspective.

It's irrelevant whether or not they have the same management team until this is done, imo. If some casino had been super shady and went under only to be bought out by a legit group, the expectation on CM would be that they handle the players who had their money stranded, stolen or slow payed would be resolved in full. I don't see why affiliates should be treated any differently than players in this regard, so if we expect that from new management for players we should expect it from new management for affiliates as well.

Grand Prive realized they had an opportunity to cut a relatively large expense of paying affiliates who would be unlikely to be of much business benefit to them in the future, and tossed them out on their ear. That is rogue behavior, it speaks to the attitude of the casino and its management, and the group will continue to have the same rogue mentality until they rectify that situation, and I don't mean settle for some small percent like has been alluded to, I mean pay their affiliates what is legitimately owed.

I have never ever promoted them, nor have I ever played at their properties in the distance past or now.

However VWM succinctly sums up the situation here. This is not just about affiliates. I am therefore quoting him.

In addition they took the rise out of eCogra.

No from me.

great experience at Grand Prive

I've had nothing but great experience playing at the grand prive casinos. Great bonuses, great support, very fast payers (a few days, great for USA players these days).

Just my opinion.

PS: I even like the software!

A resounding NO from me!

In my opinion, this is how it all panned out:
In 2008 they decided they could make more money if they dumped their affiliates, so they reneged on the contractual lifetime agreements they had made with them and basically said "stuff you!"

Before and after that they also cross-marketed the players affiliates had brought in, to Big Dollar and Villa Fortuna, without reward of course.

If it wasn't for eCogra getting involved in 2009 and putting some pressure on them, they would never have offered ANY sort of compensation to their former affiliates. But even when they did agree to that, it was only the bare minimum they could get away with.

Finally in 2010, with the natural migration of players they started to feel the pinch and only then realised the value of the very affiliates they had stabbed in the back. So they decided to start a new affy program and try to bring the old ones back, as well as look for new ones.

They sent out e-mails to all their old affiliates a couple of months back, in which they tried to blame Microgaming for them ripping off so many people and asked to be given another chance. The e-mail was so full of lies & bullshit that it was almost funny!

So they are back-stabbers, bull-shitters, liars and cheats.
Personally I don't think think they should be given yet another chance. Why risk it when there are plenty of other reputable casinos for affiliates to work with and players to patronise?

KK

I do think the same.
Players must be treated with gold gloves cause they can make survive a casino.
So if the payout is clear, the winnings have normal ups and downs, the support is kind, the payment are quite fast and the management is serious....well let's give them a opportunity , for a six-week time. But then, if nothing has changed, I'd remove them forever

A 'no' from me - I have been an affiliate manager for nearly 7 years.

Grande Prive, in my opinion, gives affiliate programmes and affiliate managers a bad name to be honest. That also doesn't include the reputation of operators as a whole.

For this reason I have voted 'no' - changing T&Cs or not paying some affiliates is not right at all but can be fixed - what they did was purely unacceptable and goes against every business ethic the majority strive for.

They want to come back as they are probably struggling but the impression they have left with affiliates is beyond repair.

They should only be considered if they pay up all affiliates from the past and then run a perfect operation (and yes, it has to be perfect) for a full year or two - even then, its hard to correct what they've done.

I voted neutral simply because I have no idea of their past shenanigans. However, if some of the things I have read about them in this thread are true and players who have experienced firsthand their rogueishness have voted no, then I'd go with the no vote.

Also....is rogueishness a word?

I think that their curent operation works quite well with the new software from a players point of view. However i really sense that lots of affiliates are pissed because they are have not been treated properly. When they were microgaming they also treated me fine as a player, no issues what so ever, but the way affiliates were treated sickens me.

So basicly if im only thinking this as a player and can shut down the affiliate part i think they could be put on propabation, but i think former affiliates should get what they deserve....

Some really good points made here.

Please keep in mind this is a rep friendly thread, so please try not to use emotional language. :D

Side note, if they are placed into the Probation section, any complaints that come through will be dealt with. At the moment they are on a "no can do" status, and they are not located in a jurisdiction that entertains player issues. Just an FYI.

.

i voted yes
i think they should have a chance to try
i will made a test if it pass
try to win with a deposit of $5 or $10 with low bets
if i get $50 or $60 of winnings i will try to cash out and test them

In a word... No.

They were once the cream of the crop. Excellent bonuses, great CS, fast payouts. Then management changed, and overnight, players were the enemy.

Way before the GP affiliate fiasco and their flight from MG, I was one of their long-time loyal players who experienced the "glitch" in Grand Prive processor which prevented me from depositing. This was no glitch. It was punishment. And no one could ever convince me otherwise. There were a couple of threads on this.

Then, after months of this 'glitch', there was the wide spread bonus ban. The only thing is, they didn't tell the players -- that was a 'fun' Christmas LOL -- but we could all suddenly deposit again.

There were other things... It was like something out of Body Snatchers. The software was the same, the GP casinos looked the same, but it wasn't the GP we all knew and loved. Players left. Many, many of us.

Sorry for being long winded.... My point is... I don't trust them. Not one tiny bit.

if a group really wants another chance they should get it. if they screw up and it seems at all fishy the probabtion is done and off to the dungeon you go.

screw up happen it how they are handled that matters.

i've never played there however i am all for trying them out.

Saying Hi to every one

I had some really bad experience. Some one hacked into my computer, took money from my debit card account. Currupted my window settings, my Bank halted all further transactions. One of the reason that caused this is that certain casino that have to make pay outs request for a copy of my debiy card, wanted a copy of my passport and a recent utility bill .They never asked for these information during my multiple deposits and losses but having struct a little win they wanted my entire personal identity. I became so angry I blown away the £500 that they refused to pay back into my debit account. They received my personal details. Today I changed my window and I am happy to be in membership with you. Thanks for allowing me to ventilate. I would love to expose those casino sites.

Affiliates will hate me now if they don't already but when I was getting screwed a couple years ago over a cash out there was only one affiliate willing to go to bat for me, the others just took the reps word at everything and that was it. I do agree that the same management would only repeat past mistakes but it seems to be new management so I do play there and don't feel they are any worse than most of the other choices we have. (usa) At the same time, I do think if they owe you money, they should pay it and I hope that for all of you. I voted yes but would certainly keep an eye on the whole situation.

They should be granted non-rogue status only if they have clear policies regarding bonuses and faster payouts. One thing that I feel is very bad is regarding "by invitation only bonuses". This causes lots of hardships to players. A good casino should be prompt in payments, having genuine bonus rules and non-trapping conditions. Further they should have a pemanent representative here in our forum to listen and solve complaints.
They can be granted probation on fulfilling these conditions and not otherwise. My humble opinion.

Grand Prive

I have been playing there for the last 6 months. When I have had cashouts I have been paid promptly. My only problem is their software. I am unable to enter their lobby which is the only way to access the games. When I click on lobby I get automatically logged out of the casino. This means the only game I can play is their featured slot which is on the opening page when you log in. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem?

Just a personal opinion, but I feel that some posters are starting to drift off topic a little with critiques on features of the site, rather than staying focused on the rogue aspect - in other words how this operator's management does business, and whether it should be trusted sufficiently to be put on probation and ultimately redeemed, which to my mind is what this thread and poll is all about.

I've read up on their history, and think that if they can prove themselves they can be put on probationary unrogued for 6 months to 1 year. If they really are under new management then this change could be genuine, but this could just be a tactic to lure in new players and then go back to their old practices. I voted neutral for this one, but am leaning more towards the side of keeping them in rogue for now.

Allow Grand Prive' A Pass?

Have they payed their affiliates the monies owed them? Have they payed their faithful depositors the monies owed them? No, I do not think so. They are untrustworthy, and I do not believe they have changed their ways, not for one second. I have seen no proof of them turning over a new leaf. I generally like to give people second chances. However, these people have not earned a place in purgatory, they should remain in hell, right where they themselves chose to be. Forgive them just because they say they are sorry? I do not doubt that they are sorry- but only for their selves and the position they now find themselves in. No, I wouldn't trust them to live up to any standards higher than an ant.Are they under new management? If they are- then maybe it should be considered. If they are not- I see no reason to suddenly start trusting them.

I know this is a bit off topic, but this seems to be a little bit of a common problem recently at Bet On Soft sites.

What I find that works is that when the casino opens, instead of logging in, enter the lobby first....then login. This should solve the problem.

I have no experience myself with Grand Privé Casino, but going by what others have said I voted no.
Plenty of Casinos have had this sort of chance, and then let themselves down, so what's the point? Learn from experience.
Somebody will see they are out of the Rogue Pit, then play there, win big and then come up against 'problems' and smoke screening rather than clarity and integrity.

Personally, I think anyone who tries them now is taking a HUGE gamble. I don't care who "owns" them now. Actions speak louder than words and they haven't proven themselves in the past. Give them a year to pay the affiliates and players they owe money to. How many chances should they be given before they are rogued forever?

In the greater scheme of things, if it weren't for the affiliates who advertise for them, they wouldn't have much of a member base. Every business needs advertising of some sort to expand. If a rogue operation stops paying for the advertising, where are they? PAY THE AFFILIATES WHAT IS OWED! Pay the players you shafted. Other than mass "spamming" which I've encountered in the last 6 months from them (whether through email or snail mail) they're following a close runner-up to Virtual, IMO. I never was a member with their group (that I can recall), so I find even the snail mail "ads" for them a little disconcerting.

I'm going to vote NO, only because there isn't an option for : "let them prove themselves in a year and then move them to the proceed with caution" selection. Their previous "tactics" and "strategies" to maintain a player base is definitely roguish and they need to prove they are no longer the wolf in sheeps clothing...

Even if they have changed management etc... the mass boycott by affiliates probably means they have not many players left. So how are they doing financially? What if they do have good intentions, but not the cash to back themselves and end up going under.

Maybe this is round 2, first they screwed the affiliates out of $$ and now they're after the players...

Something else for players to consider is that if they do decide to return to GP and it all goes tits up, they'll probably find it hard to get any sympathy (or help) from affiliates.

Hi All,

First off I would like to say that everyone and anyone deserves a second chance.

Now after going back and reading past threads I would have to say sorry but "NO" I would not give them a second chance.

You have So many casinos (3dice,32red etc) that have ALWAYS been on the up and up since day ONE of operations. The good operations understand that the clients/players who are the MOST important to them and in saying that will always provide a top quality honest casino.

It would be an absolute injustice to even consider putting them back up when you have 32red going out of there way to make sure the client is happy AND satisfied.

Why on Earth would we want to give Grand Prive another chance when you have the good ones working there butts off to get us on board as players. I'm sorry but it is obvious the greed for money surpassed the desire to look after the player and affiliate so why even consider them again.

On another note:
Bryan we all come here because we know what your site stands for. I say make an example of them so CASINOS know NOT to take casinomeister lightly as bad PR does afect them here and the word does spread, "you rip a player/affiliate off and off to the rogue pit with you" and thats where they stay.

Don't get me wrong SOME do honestly deserve a second chance due to poor casino management but us as smart people can see that this is not the flavor for Grand Prive- for whoever owns the place now.

Them wanting to come back on the ACCRED list just goes to show how affective this place is and bringing them back on board,well- it kind of reflects that anyone could come back on board.

Um - I think you might be a little confused here. :D They were never "Accredited" - they just want out of the rogue pit and I'm making my decision based on the membership's opinion.

It's like that old saying...........
"Once a cheater will always be a cheater."
But if you hear positive things going on I would say Yes.
They have many negative things that come with them at this point in the game.
I say make a poll in 6 to 8 weeks.
It's all on Time Will Tell.
To make it all good I would say (Just from Casinomeister's forum)
Give everyone here a free $25.00 free chip with no WR.with a max cash out of......
And lets see how that goes.
Just a thought if they want to make good with everyone.
~T~

They should stay in the pit until ALL affiliates are paid ALL earnings. There are still those out there that have not been payed. Once this is done they should spend another year in the pit before moving to probation. What they did was wrong in too many ways. May they Rot In Peace (or let the rats rip their flesh).

It took them years to even consider paying what they owe - and then it is settlements with strings attached, and they really should just pay up.

They breached contract, and they went against their own T&Cs.

Whether a place mistreats affiliates or players is really quite irrelevant.

If you have a neighborhood store that short changes men but not women, would you vouch for their character? Would they be a trustworthy business?

What I don't get is that it would have been an easy thing to just pay up and be on the road to redemption. Just from a business point of view, that would have been the smart thing to do, and it would have started to mend the distrust years ago. We wouldn't even be having this discussion now.

For the most part the amounts owed are not staggering. So I just don't get it - why risk your reputation because you want to nickel and dime the people you owe to? It makes no sense, and the longer it goes on the more people hear about it and the more damage is done to the reputation.

Or maybe they just don't realize that this is the internet, and it is not a place where you can do wrong and simply move to a new place where no one knows you. Even if you change all names and domains etc, people will root you out. Plenty of examples of that here at Casinomeister.

I am all for redemption, really, I am the type who does give out second chances. And even third ones. But I was raised with the motto that if you do something wrong, you fix it.

And that remains the way I look at things in life. There is not one of us who hasn't done something wrong at some time. What counts is to right the wrong. Some things are hard to fix, some may be impossible.

This is easy to fix, so just fix it.

NO for now...

Are they under new management or is it all the same - same people that scammed ?

I agree also with Dominique why not pay all the affiliates what you owe them? Will get you thumbs up at least!
