    2 questions for Affiliates

I primarily signed up with the casinos i frequent through Kasino King and RobWin--i (like(d)---RobWin--come back), their posting style and websites. At the time i was not aware that affiliates receive $$ based on losing players--but i would have still joined through their sites because of the above. My questions are not just for RobWin and KK but any affiliate

I would like to know from any affiliate who would care to answer, the following 2 things:

    1. Do affiliates provide help to their players who are having a difficult time being paid from a casino(s); what service can players receive when clicking on your link.

    2. When do you decide to take a link off of your site? "Not Recommended" (by casinomeister) sites are still promoted by many affiliates; sites having a history of very slow payment, or non-payment of players are still promoted by many affiliates.

When Tradition was discovered as having problems concerning their Blackjack, affiliates took Tradition off of their sites-but i believe that was more to do with how they paid affiliates--vs. the blackjack players issue.

I appreciate any clarity you can provide to the above questions--I don't want to think that "it's all about the money".

    Pam

Hi Pam I think the affiliates are the back bone for all players.
And I think all affiliates should give 101% support to anyone that comes to them for any type of help.
I do have to say I heard from the grape vines that some affiliates ask for a donation if they get players matters paid & I think this is F-up.
You do the best you can to get all matters taken care of for the players.and not ask for a dime for the work they have done.
And I see that some places have where the affiliates can not give money back to the player as a promo and I feel this is BS because if the affiliates whats to give them something back it's has nothing to do with that casino. And the casino's will offer a stupid contest so the players will join that way through the affiliates.
Remember that shady thing Irish luck did last year? & that was shady but you still have many that promote them still.
I will do my best to take any place down if I have too in a heart beat if I hear shady crap about them.
You hear stuff on many places like the Rival one's and to this day I never ran into any type of trouble.Ok I will say one Vegas Regal Casino for lack of a reply to me but they do pay in 3 to 4 days.
The other one Tropica casino I have made deposits and took money out three times and now they want me to send my doc's to them now but that is no big deal I will give them to them to get paid.and the other cash outs only took two days for it to be in my QT.
    Thanks Pam

I'm quite new, only been an affiliate for just over two months, but I'll answer your questions from my point of view.

There really aren't many rules, so both of your questions come down to how the affiliate wants to do their business.

    1. On my website I offer direct contact, via email and a facebook page, should any player run into an issue that they need help with. I would gladly help any of "my players". If I couldn't solve it on my own, I would send them here to PAB.

    2. I haven't run into that issue yet, but it is a question that would be tough to answer. Some programs will cut you off if you pull their banners/links from your site so you would then lose all revenue from that casino/brand. If you are making a bunch of money from the returning players, it would be tough to cut that off. Of course it would be easier to justify if you weren't making much, or the affiliate program wasn't treating their affiliates well.

I guess for me, I'd have to look at the specific issues. If a casino that I promote took a trip to the rogue pit, it would also take a hike off my site. If it's "Not Recommended", I guess I would look at everything and decide what to do. If I kept them on my site, I would be watching the forums very closely for any other issues, while at the same time I would post a news article on my site with a warning that states the facts.

From what I've seen in my short time as an affiliate, it's not as easy of a job as I first thought. It's a full time job running a website while trying to make it show up on the first page of google for decent keywords. It's also just as difficult to keep up with affiliate program issues as it is with casino issues, if not more since you have to keep an eye on both. Some casinos with great track records have affiliate programs with poor track records, and vice versa. The casino that I promote the most has an affiliate program that has had issues in the past, but the casino is great (best new casino 2004 here) so I continue to promote them and just hope I'm treated fairly.

Getting back to your concern, for me and many other affiliates, players come first. Of course for others it will be all about the money. I trust Bryan with his decisions, he's been doing this for a long time. If it's a Rogue - throw it out, if it's not recommended - look carefully and decide for yourself.

Players should always come first and thats what we should be most concerned about.

I have went to bat for other players who had trouble collecting who didnt even sign up thru our banners, thats what a decent affy does imho, they are there for their members and should have a direct contact with each casino they promote.

There are so many websites out there that would promote their own mother if it brought in a dime, those websites are the ones players need to be leary of and avoid, try to stick with affy's who will be in your corner should something arise and you find yourself in need of help, those affy's that dont give a damn will not be there for you and you can bet on that.

    Great question Pam

I was just the same when I started playing casinos online - I signed up to dozens without knowing what an affiliate was - including many rogue casinos from a very good looking website which I thought I could trust. That was before I discovered CasinoMeister in 2004. After that, and knowing the affiliate roll, I signed up to as many as I could via CM's links.

I can't speak for other affiliates, but certainly Rob and myself will do everything in our power to help ANY players with problems - even if they didn't join the casino via our sites.
Being only "small fry" affiliates our "power" is rather limited, but we do try!

I can see where you are coming from with this question, and it is a rather complicated issue which could easily open up a whole can of worms, which frankly I have no appetite for.

Bottom line is that "not recommended" is not the same as "rogue" (see Bryan's definitions at the top of each section) and it is down to each individual player and affiliate to consider the warnings and make their own decision on each casino.
Unfortunately some affiliates chose to totally ignore all his warnings, and unlike huge websites like Casino City and CAP for example, at least you wont find any operators of rogue casinos on my or Robwin's websites.

    Regarding Tradition:
It is true that as an affiliate I was very unhappy with them due to gross incompetence BEFORE the BJ issue was brought to light here. In fact, that thread was started on March 27th and I had already removed all traces of Tradition from all my sites on March 16th.

Much though I already disliked Tradition casino, IMO that whole issue was totally blown out of all proportion; they made a stupid mistake, it was discovered by a player, it was put right and all effected players were compensated. What more would you want the casino to do?

Good questions! I look forward to hearing other affiliate's answers!

Some affiliates back up their players when there is trouble, some don't. Choose wisely.

Many affiliates would ike to do so but don't have the clout. You have to be able to tell the casino - fix it or you'll be off my site. If your site is not productive, the casino will just laugh.

Always make sure you know where to reach the affiliate before clicking on links.

That said, the affiliates who can and will back you up usually can ony do so if you have gone through their links. I won't go to bat with rogues, because they just do as I ask with the idea it gets them on the site if they cooperate. So then they hound me for exposure and it takes forever to get rid of them. They figure they paid for it by allowing a resolution. I figure they should have paid anyways. It's a major pain. I just won't deal with them anymore, period.

Taking casinos off the site can have many reasons, and if you want an affiliate who is easily able to do so without jeopardizing feeding their families, look for sites that have many different casinos advertised. If the income is spread out among a bunch of places, kicking one out isn't a big deal. There are always more to put on instead.

I read here at Meister and take complaints into consideration, I read affiliate message boards and take their complaints into consideration (being a crook is a state of mind, if a place screws one segment of the industry they are likely to screw the other too), I take my own player feedback very heavily into consideration, as well as the ease with which I can resolve issues with that place. Last not least I look at my statistics - if I see a lot of players playing a few times and then leaving the place it raises doubts. If I see players sticking with the place, it implies trust.

So a lot of considerations go into this.

Over the years I think I got it weeded out pretty well, since I get very few complaints anymore, and the ones I do get are usually errors and easily fixed. If the affiliate weeds out the bad apples properly, there shouldn't be any major complaints.

    To pick an affiliate site:

know where to reach the affiliate
make sure the site doesn't depend on a small handful of casinos
pick a site that went through the trouble of making lots of info available
