oh the people you encounter in the online casino industry

This is an experience that I don't see mentioned much, but I think definitely is one to learn about the industry. Online casinos usually piss you off because they don't pay you. But I had an experience worse than that. I played tournaments back in the day at this casino that currently is accredited. I was a fairly good tournament player, having played before at other places. However, one of the managers there didn't understand tournaments much and demanded to know how I was able to win. So I basically explained some simple tournament strategies and thought he would understand. To my horror, he was very angry and ranted at me and basically degraded me saying I was stealing from the casino and I played risk free. I think its just outrageous that a manager at an accredited casino wouldn't understand anything about tournaments and treat people like crap. And of course they didn't pay.

Just shows you some of the aholes working in this industry.

    Which casino?
If it's an accredited one probably there's a representative.

If I'm not mistaken the OP has already PAB'd on this issue. The PAB ran it's course and we did what we could but for reasons unrelated to the original post here the end result was not to the OP's satisfaction.

For me, I wondering what is the tournament strategy that the casino allegedly called "risk-free?" Is it really just using money-management techniques? Poker players use this all the time so why should the casino get upset about bet-sizing strategies in other tournaments?

The only way to play "risk free" is to ONLY play FREE tournaments, and NEVER deposit money in the casino, only withdrawing the proceeds from winning the tournaments.

The story doesn't quite match this though, the manager seemed upset that the OP "kept on winning". This has happened with MGS tournaments too, and here is down to a strategy of "brute force". Because of the sheer number of rebuys and continues available, it is possible for a player to simply buy their way to the top. In some cases, this can have a +EV long term outcome provided the tournaments are selected carefully, and the prize structure, number of continues/rebuys, and the overall cost of "maxing out" these, are all taken into consideration.

The manager obviously didn't know anything about tournaments, but never did I expect him to think what I wrote to be "risk-free" and cheating:

Here is what I wrote to them:

Whenever I play a casino tournament, I think about how I am going to beat my opponents and place in the top 3. I save a screenshot of each of the tournaments I play and analyze the top players. I also record my results in a spreadsheet to see my progress.

I do well because I use optimal strategy, which is especially important for casino holdem as it is a more complex game. Likewise, as in video poker, placing in the top 3 requires playing a lot of hands and time that most other players don't commit to.

One other point is that most players seem to play for fun and don’t have much discipline. I noticed some players with top places end up losing their balance because they tried to keep increasing their balance and didn’t stop when they were losing.

How about answering everyone elses questions about which casino this is, and what software

I can understand players getting upset, but what is the point of posting a complaint, and not posting any information that may help you?
