Question How do you keep track of your online entertainment/casino spending?

I want to turn a new leaf for 2010, and track every cent, if possible, which I spend in online casinos - does anyone here have a preferred software, preferably free? Sorta kinda like Pokertracker?

I think some players have mentioned that they keep track the hard way - entering each and every wager, but is there a better way? Particularly interested in a software that could also track all these fees we pay.

I personally created a couple of spreadsheets using Ms Office and OpenOffice (OpenOffice is free). In them I keep track of things like balances in my ewallets/e-accounts, who I deposited with and what were the results, as well as logs for individual sessions. I don't track every wager by hand, but I do track my comp points before and after a session and my bet size and what balances I started with and ended with. With some simple match I can figure out how many hands or spins without having to track each one. This doesn't work as well if you're bet size is less than a dollar or so.

Also having some programming knowledge, I've been creating my own programs to help me keep track.

My basic listing is total deposits per account, and total withdrawals. This in turn provides me with total profit/loss per casino, and online gambling as a whole.
As well as this, I have analysed some casinos loyalty schemes, promotions, tournamenets, etc, in detail. This helps me decide which promotions to play, and which to discard.

I do not have profit per year/month, only a LIFETIME total to date. This can be useful when having a great short term success, because it immediately puts it into a long term perspective. A LONG TERM profit is the holy grail, and is likely to be achieved by winning a decent progressive jackpot.

Fascinating stuff, you guys. To date, all I ever did was keep track of deposit, beginning and ending balance, date, site. Have to rethink how I do this.

I didn't keep track of anything way back when. I got ideas about what kind of information to collect after reading this article:
    http://www.gambling-law-us.com/Artic...ng-Session.htm

I figured this was good info to know in general. Also, I was curious about how well I was doing and wanted something other than my faulty memory to go by. After a while you can start getting a sense of which games and bet sizes give you the longest play times.

Not read so much biull shizzaa as I did in the link you gave.

e.g hammered in vegas on vod n tonic playing slots or bj and you to remember the below : quote :

    1. The date and type of your specific wager or wagering activity.

    2. The name and address or locations of the gambling establishment.

    3. The names of other persons present with you at the gambling establishment.

    4. The amount(s) you won or lost.

come on pls get real. To track win or loss its very easy.

Spread sheet with all deposits, spread sheet for withdraws / month on month do a Plus or minus total figure. Work out from that how much you up or down. Game by game or spin by spin would be madness to try keep check of unless its MG software which does record all game logs. But not sure why anyone would need em long term.

This year example im now down around 10k (was up total year in nov 09) but then went on a gamblers bender. Pulled back around 2k in the last 24hours but not yet in my total.

The big ??? in what I play is the foreign transaction fees. I started a poll http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/...-gambling.html here.

I exclusively use a prepaid Mastercard or withdrawn wins to fund my gambling. So the amount of funds I load to my prepaid and the amount withdrawn by wire to my bank account, less the monthly fee of $15 for the prepaid, and the incoming wire charges on my bank statement gives me an accurate enough picture of how much I won/loss.

I'd be very close to even over the course of the year if not for these fees.

Moneymart has introduced a new US fund mastercard, so I will be looking into that to see if it might be beneficial for me.

I just keep a basic spreadsheet for deposits and withdrawals each session. and a +/- column to record the net result per session. Then one other column for the running total. As for programs used, just MS word here.
For 2010 I will also include the session times as well.

I find it best to keep it as easy to update as possible, otherwise it becomes like one of those diarys you always promise to keep, but never bother to update after the middle of january!

Doesn't KK have some excel templates available to download? If not, he should. *hint hint*

Keep large stock of red pencils. For every expenditure, break one in half, throw it out the window. The pile of broken, red pencils, outside, about a cord's worth, gives me a rough idea.
