generic questions about PMing a rep

Hi. Yesterday I sent a PM to a casino rep. When I checked my inbox this morning there was no response and it was then that I noticed that my "sent" list was empty. There is no doubt in my mind that I sent the PM - took me about 1/2 hr to compose it, then I clicked on send and was taken to a different page to the one I was composing my message on.

So my first question is - am I being stupid and looking in the wrong place? (User CP; list messages; sent items)

And my second question is what is the generally accepted amount of time to wait for a response from a rep before taking an issue further? I realize these guys must be pretty busy at times, but just wanted a heads up.

Hey Koala, when you are sending your PM, make sure that you have the option checked that says "Save a copy of this PM in your Sent Items folder". It's down at the bottom of the PM itself...there are about four different options there, including request a read receipt (which will also tell you if your PM has been picked up/viewed by the relevant party). That may be why you don't see a copy of it in your Sent Items. Just a thought.

Also, check to see when the last time the rep was on the forum ie. Last Activity. If they haven't been around in a while, you can always get Max to give them a heads up that they have an issue here to deal with. Hope that helps.

Like Pina says, check the 'Last Activity' listing. If they're currently active (have been around recently) then a few days is a reasonable response time. Most of them will respond a lot faster than that.

If they haven't been around recently it's still a good idea to PM them. Some of them have set their accounts up so that they receive notifications that a PM is waiting for them.

If the PM thing isn't getting you the response you want then you have a few choices:

    - post a "Hey Casino XYZ" thing on the boards. That usually works well if they're reading the boards.

    - if your want to escalate the issue to a formal complaint have a look at the Pitch-A-Bitch FAQ.

    - or, like Pina said, you could PM me at maxd or the boss, Bryan, at Casinomeister and let us know you're trying to reach the rep and they're not answering.

Somewhere in there ought to be a solution that suits your needs.

That's very helpful information, you should pin it somewhere so that people can find it easily after this thread gets knocked down a few pages.

Good suggestion, maybe we'll bump the whole thread over to Blasts From the Past when we're done here.

Thanks for the responses guys. I didn't check either save a copy or request a read reciept, so that explains why there's nothing in my sent items. Last activity was a month or so ago, so I'll give it a two or three more days and see what happens.

Again, thanks for your help. The more I come to this site the more impressed I become with the community.
