    Who plays American Roulette?

Is so, why? Almost every casino I visit has American, European (and if you're lucky French*) Roulette. American Roulette is the ultimate "exactly like this other game, but twice as bad" example.

    * to Wagerworks where every Roulette variant is already "French"

I don't actually play roulette, but what is the difference between European and French roulette, please? I thought they were the same thing.

As for American, it does seem odd that people would choose a game with a worse edge against you, unless there are special bonuses for it.

Personally, I've never played Roulette, and never care to.....nothin against the game, but I just like more action..blackjack, craps, etc

I just thought I'd throw in the fact that Microgaming also has French Roulette...
Operators: If you don't know what Transparency means, then here you go.....now how about practicing it?

Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a "transparent" object is one that can be seen through. ...

    American- 0 and 00
    European- 0
French 0, if it lands on 0 you get half your money back on even money bets.

Really? What about my favorite - Double Bonus Spin Roulette?
That has 0, 00 and B (1.5 times wider than the other numbers) = definitely not French!.

I get what you're saying though - why would anyone in their right mind play American if the other types are available!'

I put "French" in quotes, as although DBSR doesn't immediately pay back half, it does have a mechanism that will do it in the longterm.

Hmmmmm, Maybe some people from other places see the word, "American", and think the game must be better somehow

Just think, if all other rules were the same, and they offered Vegas 5/6 blackjack? Some people would think that 5/6 is higher than 3/2, and must be better......

    From the pro...

Having two zero on a roulette means increased payouts to numbers since there are two zero on the wheel the payout for hitting a number is increased by 1 a greater house edge but bigger pay out if you are betting on numbers...Only the most stupid of gamblers would bet on red/black while playing american roulette o_O

French roulette has french betting systems preset in the game, for example voisin de zero (cousin of zero) where you bet on every number around the zero on the wheel etc...american roulette or european roulette rarely gives you these presets, and french roulette has a lot of french terms,I am french so I should know
