You would think this would be a decent site coming from such a big TV company but you would be wrong.

Picture this scenraio;

You have doubled your original balance on bonus and on your way to clearing the WR but then you can suddenly hit nothing.
About 35% over 500 spins (just like Rival TBH) with not a bonus game in site.
Finally you hit 25 Free spins, you are down to 15 and there is message flashing "You have won nothing from your free spins yet!"
How nice, like I need reminding.
Then a pop up window covers the screen so you can not see your slot telling you a complete stranger has won a few hundred Dollars.
Frustrated you close the box and your game dissapears to task bar!
So you open your game to find you have a few spins left and when it completes you have won X5 bet on 25 free games after sucking out for the last God knows how many spins.
I didn't hit another bonus round but I did get to close a dialogue box a few more times:poke:
So very iffy software (whats new) even though they have the rights to Monopoly and Cluedo but get this;
You can play a penny a line say 9 lines 9p or next up is 10p a line 90p and nothing in-between!
That has to be One of the dumbest things I have ever seen.

Here is my pop up screen for ITV.com

Congratulations to ITV.com!
They have just won the
crapatious Casino award :notworthy

I agree.

I signed up to ITV and Party casino quite a while ago. Back then they offered really decent sign ups, with none of this minimum Party Points or whatever they are called on each deposit, and I was getting reloads of 200+ a month. All playable on blackjack. Suffice to say I made a killing. But then suddenly the offers stopped :rolleyes:

I have never liked their slots. They are unique, granted, but most of them are just standard forms with a different skin: usually based around some ITV show. The only TV show turned slot that I like is Deal or no Deal over at Jackpot Joy. That can be fun, but boy can it drain your balance.

As it's been so long, is it both ITV and Party that offer the random jackpots? Those can be big, and seem to hit often, but as you pointed out, the free spins can be just like Rivals. I have on rare instances hit ok-ish wins, such as 200x, but nothing spectacular.

The window about other players winning jacpots is really annoying. Sometimes it's worse, when you recognise the same player winning randoms, and when you're losing it doesn't help. Saying that, in all honesty, like you said, I don't care what someone has won if I don't know them. On the forums it's always nice to see fellow members winning, but apart from that, if it isn't me, I don't care!

I recall switching the TV on between 5 and 6pm during the week to hear that irritating woman plugging the casino on Goldenballs. Interestingly, that's now been replaced by a sponsorship from ITV Bingo. Perhaps they are just trying to get their brands known. But I'd say their bingo site is more popular and more well known than the casino. Perhaps they too know just how crap their own casino is :D

Got an email from them to day with the heading;
You've got chips!

This is what it said inside;
Get 25% extra on your next deposit at ITV Casino worth up to $50.00 USD*

Slightly misleading then :rolleyes:

As I said what a crap hole.

What attracts you to sites anyway? Is it promotional offers, or freebies, or reputation or recommendation or something else?

Not promos unless I am already a member though I am not anti bonus.
Reputation or name are the first things then it is software.
I get bored with MG and RTG so I like to look for somewhere that uses different software now and again.
Some of the games are not bad even if some of the software is hardly player friendly but I won't play at a site that spams you while you are playing, it is bad enough when you are not but infuriating when you are.

Do you play at ITV.com and if so what do you think of the points I have made?

no rusty i dont play at itv.com - infact i am the phd freak - the student of gambling that originally came into the forum to ask/beg (lol) forum members to take part in my online survey trying to establish if there is any such thing as responsible gambling features that work / are effective at online sites for players that feel that their gambling is getting out of control - i asked my question because my research has told me that responsible gambling features is not an important factor when players choose the site(s0 of their choice. wouldnt like to take part in my survey would you rusty ? ;)

I'm the same as Rusty. I like unique games, and unique sites. I feel that in the cases of MG, Rival and RTG, there are many casinos fighting for the same players to play the same games, so they just throw bonuses etc at you in an attempt for you to choose them over another.

32red is an exception to that rule, as they have great CS and regular promotions on this site.

But usually, if one site alone offers the software, it shows the effort that has gone into it. ITV is good for its different slots based upon TV shows, and they have a wide selection of other games too.

For me, reputation is the key. But I go by the comments said by other members on this forum. There are some big bookmakers amongst other companies out there whose name you would trust without even considering, but their practices online are a different matter.

When I used to bonus bag a couple of years ago, bonuses attracted me more than anything else. I was lucky - I played at some rogue sites and got paid. But many were not so fortunate.

I've never received spam from ITV, unless you class promos that aren't actually promos, and constant pop-ups in the casino itself. However, recently I've been receiving spam and I'm pretty certain of the casino behind it. I don't want to mention the name until my investigations prove it, but this casino frequently advertises on TV and even this site. I will be very disappointed if this proves correct. I guess it shows you can't trust anyone these days :eek2:

so - academic concern about corporate social responsibility - how an organisation responds to being concerned about its stakeholders - ie - how concerned operators are about players that might have a problem - is that not important for social players? :)

Surely the players are the customers as opposed to the stakeholders :what:

With regards to your question. It's not all that hard, in my opinion, for 'social players' to become gamblers. Numerous things can trigger that. It could be the idea of chasing that life-changing win, chasing your losses, or perhaps coming into a bit of money.

Having said that, casinos have an ethical, if not legal, obligation to the needs of the player. While they are unlikely to contact a player about their concerns with his/her gambling, they need to have means in place should someone realise they have a problem.

In the past, if I've gone a bit silly, in the moments of anger I've gone to the appropriate section of the casino and put stringent controls on my deposits, whereby the casino CANNOT reverse them. Sometimes, later on I've wished I hadn't of done it, but in the long run you realise it was done for a reason, and the right one.

I think some casinos don't advertise this responsible gambling section well enough. In some instances, you have to enter a part of the website, as opposed to it being an option in the cashier, or somewhere else in the casino interface. Furthermore, I think it is wrong that casinos can manually alter the settings you have imposed. They are usually worded 'you can decrease your deposit limit at any time, but requests to increase or remove this limit will come into force seven days after requested'. It should be set in stone, otherwise it's all too easy to reverse these changes.

...so any children who have been allowed to stay up late get to see all those plugs for the casino.

If anyone thinks this is of no concern, then watch Channel 4 "Boys & Girls alone", episode 2, and see what the Girls did when they were handed money to spend. It would have been shocking enough if it were the boys, but it was the Girls!
If you are in the UK, it should be on 4OD (the channel 4 catch-up service for PC's).

Perhaps having the casino as "product placement" is slipping under the radar of advertising guidelines.

You're sort of beating a dead horse here.....why derail another thread when you already have one going in regards to this subject, and have had quite a few people respond? I'm sure this has already been covered and/or answered in your original thread.......it's not like people don't see it over there....

Thank you for hijacking yet ANOTHER thread with your research stuff. You are back on the Moderated list -- post must be approved before they appear -- effective immediately. Your continued disregard for our Forum Rules is soon going to result in you being banned from the site.

you have the right to isolate me, ban me, embarass me - whatever you like and i have no appeal - i did not hijacj anyone else's thread - i just asked a questin - why chosse a site and said what i was doing to make it clear what i am doing - it is like you are just looking for something to have a go at me. no problem but you are mistaken - the first error i made was in ignorance - this is something else.

You are exploiting this board for your own purpose/agenda. This is your final warning: please discontinue turning each thread that you post in a project for your school. Thank you.

As CM said, I think you want to be careful here. I understand what you are trying to do, and there are plenty of people on this site who have helped you and will continue to do so. But if you get banned for what is basically being a troll on the forums, you're going to be giving yourself a massive disadvantage as this is probably the best casino forum out there.

You've had over a hundred replies to your original thread, which is pretty good going, so I'd say that everyone who wants to have an input will have done by now.
