    Becoming an affiliate

What does one do to become a affiliate for online casinos.

    1. Can you do it on a part-time basis?

    2. Do you need to have some collateral to participate?

    3. Is there spamming involved?

    4. Is there guaranteed income?

    5. Is there some risk involved.

I am not thinking of becoming one I am just curious as how it works.

No, most legit places will shut you down if they catch you spamming

    4. Is there guaranteed income?

No, typically your income is based on the performance of your signups.

    5. Is there some risk involved.

Just the time invested unless you have legal concerns, then you should contact legal help in your country.

Most affiliates are part-timers. They do this for extra cash.

No - all you need is a website and a plan...

Like Pokeraddict mentioned - if you get caught spamming, you'll be shut down. You can refer to our spam page to review affiliate programs' spam policies here:

Like most any "self-employed" type job - no.

The only risks involved could stem from the laws of your local jurisdiction. For instance, my company is located in Germany. German companies are not allowed to target Germans with online casino ads. So this is one reason you won't see any German language ads here.

I'm glad you asked since there are probably a bunch out there who haven't asked. There is a lot of information at Casinomeister concerning affiliate marketing and how to become one. You can find some of this here:
    http://www.casinomeister.com/affiliate.php (warning - needs a serious update)

You don't have to but for tax reasons it helps.

IMO, players have the potential to make the best affiliates because they should be able to pass on honest and accurate information. Many affililiates don't play, perhaps surpringly, and they therefore often don't understand the needs of players. Consequently they pass on standard information and forget about things like the realities behind specific wagering requirements, cashout times for different banking methods, passing on nfo about banking methods that actually work and customer service standards.

The biggest problem IMO that any potential affiliate faces is traffic. It's important to understand the concept of "SEO" and the deployment of those methods, at least in a basic form. his is why spamming is rife in any potentially lucrative commercial market (drugs, casinos, sex etc), because a lot of webmasters don't know how to compete for quality traffic.

As there is so many affiliates already out there promoting casino's etc, what are the chances of making a dollar out of it if there are already so many who has years expereince in this??.

Is it kind of who comes up with a new idea first or who s catering more to the clientel???.

My advice would be to find a niche, target an audience that hasn't been pursued yet, and then make yourself known via online and offline publicity.

And keep your overhead waaaay low.

It certainly helps to find an "angle" and as CM says, a niche that you know about. Maybe a specific game type or something. But the more unique you can make the info the more chances people will want to use it.

Can't re-iterate enough that it's all about quality traffic. You can have the best and fanciest website in the world, or just a basic HTML site, but if you can get the right kind of traffic it can work for you.

It is a good idea to regularly visit http://www.affiliateguarddog.com/ to see if the T&Cs of the casinos you choose are ok for affiliates. And they sometimes change for the better or the worse, so it's good to keep up or you might find yourself failing and you don't know why. Affiliates get cheated at least as much as players, and likely more since there is no way to accurately prove the statistics you are provided with are correct.

That site also currently is running a free apprentice program, but I don't know if there are still openings. If there are, I strongly recommend it, you will receive all kinds of help and guidance.

I agree with everyone else - be unique. You can do it still. Sit down and make a list of things you would have liked to have at your fingertips when you first started playing. It helps a LOT if you are a player yourself, most of the bigger affiliates are players.

When I got into this business some 8 years ago, everyone told me that it was too late to break into it, and that my site was not going to work.

Nothing changed, people still tell newcomers the same thing. If people tell you your site won't work because of structural stuff or SEO, take the advice. If they think so because of the type info you provide and/or look and feel of the site, ignore it pretty much. If you love it, there are others who will love it too. You don't need everyone to like it, you want some people to love it a lot. Just don't load it down with banners - they are at best distracting to visitors, their eyes won't know where to look with all that flashy stuff. If you think of your site as a room, banners can be the art on the wall, never the furniture.

If there is anything you always wanted to know about casinos but still don't know, research it. Others will feel the same way. Make it available on your site.

It will be a hobby at first, then a part time job, and hopefully at some point you will have the choice to make it full time.

    Good luck!
