    Irish Luck Casino

This is so ridiculous that I just have to laugh (and kick myself).

I deposited $50 tonight and took their 125% bonus. I thought "what the hell" I'd give them a shot. I tried the new game - nothing. I tried Scary Rich - nothing. I tried Jacques Pot and finally got the free spins. Yippee!!! And I won - drum roll please - $1.60. That's right - $1.60 on the free spins on a $2.00 bet.

To make matters even worse, that was the only bonus round I hit, period.

I just hate being screwed and not even getting a kiss.

    Goodbye, Irish Luck.

    Annie,

All Rivals are the same. The slots you played are of high variance so at $2 per spin it was always likely that you would experience a low payout initially. That said however, since there was a bonus taken you had to bet big otherwise you will never meet the WRs. I have had the same experience and busted out without reaching so much as a quarter of the WRs. So we wont win either way. Pathetic.

    Chuchu,

Let me clarify something. I wasn't just playing $2 a spin on all of them. I went from $.20 to $2. Just happen to hit the free spins when I was on the $2bet. If I had been betting $.20 at the time, I would have won $.16?

It wouldn't have made any difference if I had not taken the bonus. I would have lost anyway. Unless, random is not random after all?

That sucks big time Annie. Just when you think that you hit the free spins at the right time when betting $2 per spin it pays only $1.6. Sheesh!

Yeah, that's why I am saying you wont win whether you take a bonus or not except that with the former you get more playing time and a teeny weeny more in comps.

I totally agree with the first bit - those high variance slots are all or nothing... and more often than not it's nothing
But I disagree with the second bit; I have taken many Rival bonuses, low-rolled from the start, met WR with a nice profit & cashed out.
It can be done with a bit of good luck and a truck-load of patience!

    Bit of a contradiction there...
Random is random and high variance is high variance. As I said above, those slots are all or nothing (not 100% sure about Pigskin yet - but it robbed me yesterday!) - if you want more playing time rather than going for a big win, play some different slots!

    Better luck next time!

    KK,

I understand what you are saying but my point was winning $1.60 from 10 free spins on a $2 bet. High variance or not, you should at least win your bet back no matter what you are playing. If you are going to call it a bonus round then make it a bonus round. When you win more on a single spin than a bonus round, then it sucks.

What would be the payout percentage on this?

It's kinda like getting no paying Squirrels on the bonus in Squirrel Pike which I believe was also discussed in forum.

BTW, I sent an email on this to the rep here and as yet have received no response. I am sure they will just think I am angling for a free chip and ignore me.

    I totally 100% agree!
If you don't even get a couple of times your bet back, what sort of bonus is that?

The way the casinos can get round this problem and still keep the bonus random is to award a prize just for hitting the scatters in the first place. It was pointed out to me today that Wizard do this, thereby ensuring you always get something for your scatters hit. Whereas at Rival you don't get any win for hitting the bonus scatters on most of their new slots.

    10 spins x $2 @ x2 = $40 worth of spins
    $1.60 / $40 = 0.04
    0.04 x 100 = 4%

So Anniemac, you got $1.60 as well as your $2 bet back, or just the $1.60?

That is pretty bad and i've experienced the same thing many times... also some great hits as well, but it can be frustrating in between.

I was also under the impression that all rival games paid the same across the board.

Anyway, you can also contact their rep, Gary. He is very accomodating and seems genuinely interested in making sure his players enjoy their play.
