Question Playing in a restricted US state. Possible to win?

I have noticed a lot of casinos allow all US players regardless which state they reside to create an account and play. However all of these casinos have similar terms or conditions that state playing is not allowed in jurisdictions where prohibited.

According to http://www.gambling-law-us.com/State-Law-Summary/ it shows Illinois "Express Internet Prohibition".

I understand that yes I can deposit money to a lot of casinos accepting all states. My concern is when I want to cash out. For example, a jackpot is hit. Will the casino use the law against me to avoid paying, pointing out I live in a state where its prohibited to play online and therefore cannot send me any money?

Anyone have successful play in a state where its "prohibited" or is it simply impossible without legal implications?

If you are from one of the states prohibited, I wouldn't chance playing at any casino that has this in the T&C's. They would have the right to seize the jackpot if you broke the T&C's. I would imagine they wouldn't mind taking your deposits and paying out small wins, but once it gets to the big bucks...all bets are off if you are from one of those states IMO. Casinos are there to make a profit and they will do what it takes to make it.

They are unregulated and sometimes many of us forget this, so please be careful and choose where to play carefully. Even accredited casinos sometimes fall to the wayside....but many redeem themselves quickly even if they are unmonitored by a governing body of laws..

Thank you for your reply. This is frustrating. I remember a couple of years ago playing online was no problem.

For example... I was about to deposit at INetBet until I read this:

"# iNetBet.com is restricted to individuals of legal age of majority ("Players") who are residents of jurisdictions where the use of iNetBet and its games ("Games") is not prohibited by law. This may also include states with countries e.g Kentucky in the USA.
    # All iNetBet games are void where prohibited by law. Minors are strictly forbidden to play. "

    http://www.inetbet.com/aboutus/rulesandregulations.asp

ALL the casinos I have looked at have similar wording in the T&Cs. Some say something to the effect that its impossible to keep track of all laws of all countries and that its the players own responsibility...

Anyone of any of the 11 "Prohibited" states find a place to play?

I agree with silcnlayc, if you live in one of the 11 states that has a specific laws against online gambling, don't chance it... Your odds of getting paid on any big win are about zero.

What you can do is fire off some emails and/or phone calls to the elected officials in your state, demanding they regulate online gaming instead of outlawing it.

If you're in one of these states, they wont let you win anyway, so don't worry about it.

    For sure...

You should definitely make sure that the casino accepts all US States if yours is one of the restricted ones.

    Best of luck!

Is it a figure of speech or you mean what I think you mean?

    Thanks for all the replies.

From what I have read playing in a restricted state you can't win anything. You can only loose or get your deposit amount back.

The thing that's irritating is a lot of casino portal sites can be misleading... Lots use symbols or categories to identify casinos that allow "some" US residents and "all" US residents.

For example just check out this site... List casinos accepting all states and the ones accepting only the non-restricted states:

    http://www.online-casinos.com/reviews/us_players.asp

I had a few casinos in mind that supposedly accept all players from all states. Before I deposited any money I carefully read all the terms and conditions of the one casino I had in mind. Several things in the rules scared me away regarding where I live.

I was fortunate enough to read all about my local laws but its easy to imagine all the people who see these "all accepting casinos" and don't hesitate to play.

    Wink Trust me

Trust me... I have experience working for a reputable online casino and can for sure say that, as long as the casino accepts all US States (and therefore had a majority of US players), you WILL be paid!!

In nearly 2 years experience, I NEVER saw even one US player being declined a withdrawal because s/he he was from the US!!

    Good luck winning!!

INetBet is one that is advertised to accept all US players regardless which state they live.

Why then do they throw this in there R&R:

"iNetBet.com is restricted to individuals of legal age of majority ("Players") who are residents of jurisdictions where the use of iNetBet and its games ("Games") is not prohibited by law. This may also include states with countries e.g Kentucky in the USA."
