I'm sorry but I think its silly for you to blame this casino. You need to take responsibility for your own actions. Sounds like you want to play and win- if you win... great- if you lose, you want your money back. We all have a gambling habit and that is what keeps us all gambling. If you truely want to stop gambling- then take responsbility for your own actions and stop trying to find casinos that will let you gamble. I mean, what do you expect? There are programs you can download to your computer that will lock you out of online gaming- if you REALLY want to stop gambling- LOCK your own computer so you can't gamble online- don't make it someones elses responsibility.
I'm sorry I sounds like a B**** but it just sounds like you want to gamble and if you lose, you want your money back.

It seems to me that she really wants to quick, read her thread again darsval..she is just blaming the casino for not closing her account, not losing her money, she is trying hard to stop and this casino not closing her account is wrong, in my opinion.

I must admit I am definitely a compulsive gambler, and I don't know how to stop. I can't stand it anymore, and that is why I am here... I want to play, and the sad thing is, a lot of times I end up winning a lot, but I just play and play until I lose it. I have managed to get myself on a "ban" list which is a good thing, but the problem is there are many casinos that let me have multiple accounts (probably knowing that I have them), and I lose there... I did have a certain set of casinos refund my money as I cannot stop playing... I am almost there I think, but I slipped up this weekend again as I found an old account.. the only way I can deposit now is creditcard and most have blocked it, but this one place (which I have asked to close my account, and which is on this site, but I won't mention any names until I deal with them), has let me deposit and I simply play until I lose everything... I need help, and that is why I am here... I will post a "bitch" if this casino doesn't help me out since I have told them on numerous occasions that I have a problem and that they still allow me to have an account and keep depositing is simply wrong.... This is day 1.. I hope to reach day 1000 without every playing again... I have put myself in so much debt that I will have trouble getting out of it.

I read you loud and clear. Your a obsessive gambler- like all of us here- and you "claim" you want to quit gambling... YET, you continue to search out AND DOWNLOAD casinos to see if your account is open. If you find an account that is open- you deposit money, lose, then complain to the casino you want your money back. So if you win- Do you email them and give them back your winnings?????????? Ummmm, my guess is NO
It's not about them locking your account.... YOU TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for your gambling.
So, if you already know there are casinos out there that won't close your account.... Why don't YOU be repsonible, YES YOU, and download the program that will lock you out of gambling???
If I remember correctly from one of your posts, you have a baby- I'm sure there are better things you can purchase for your money than gaming credits.
Sorry, I don't feel sorry for you. There are steps YOU can take to protect yourself from gambling, YET, YOU don't take those steps.

It's hard to be responsible when someone has a problem, you can't tell a drug addict, just stop doing drugs, it's not that easy, not for a gambler either. I wish it were that easy, we all do..She searchers for a casino just like a smokers looks for a smoke, or a drug addict looks for a fix. She is trying her best to stop, yes she has a baby and yes I agree she should try harder for her son, but it still doesn't make it any easier to stop. Instead of making her feel worse, give her a little credit for trying, she is here for a reason, lets support her and be here for you, she needs us now more than ever.

I come here for support and this is what I get.. very nice.. and if you actually did read what I wrote, I NEVER ASKED FOR THE MONEY. RUSHMORE GAVE ME THE MONEY BACK BECAUSE THEY ARE A RESPONSIBLE CASINO. They even told me it didn't matter whether I won or lost that the account would just be closed and it would be as if I didn't play.. I was complaining about the other casino because I asked them specifically to close my account on numerous accounts and they didn't.
You don't know want an obsessive gambler is, and you don't know anything about me so you shouldn't even open your mouth about my family. I am taking responsibility by coming here and opening up, but I get an inconsiderate person like you saying otherwise. do you work for the casino that I haven't mentioned? you have turned this into me having to defend myself rather than me trying to get help.. everyone else on this board has been way above and beyond what I expected in terms of support, but then I get someone like you.. unreal. I am not here to start an argument with you and I do not want to. You do not know me and I do not know you. I am here for support. Don't dump on the thread if you don't have any.
luigi, by the way, I am male, not female.

I don't know whether or not darsval is a compulsive gambler, but I used to be one, so will you listen to me? The only reason that I'm not $40,000 in debt via CC's is that it's been well over 7 years and they have since dropped off my credit report.
They're absolutely right. You can tell casinos to close your account, and yes, it is up to them to either do as you ask or not, but it's ultimately YOUR responsibility to take steps so you can't gamble online anymore; NOT theirs.
I applaud your efforts to stop, but what would it matter if those casinos closed your account or not? You wouldn't have any idea if they did if you didn't download the casino again to see....
...you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink...
Operators: If you don't know what Transparency means, then here you go.....now how about practicing it?
Transparency, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a "transparent" object is one that can be seen through. ...

As a person recovering from addiction myself (I won't go into that here, but let's just say I've been there done that), I can relate to ilosetoomuch's feeling of hopelessness and loss of control. There is nothing worse than feeling utter terror about something that (in your mind), you feel you have no power to overcome.
That being said, back on topic...the mention of the mystery casino being accredited (why has ilosetoomuch taken the time to refute other posts here but not named the casino? hmmm kinda of fishy, but I digress) has me wondering...what are the accredited properties' views on responsible gambling, and what do they recommend?
Browsing the highest ranked one on Bryan's list (voted best casino 2003-2007), we read:
We believe that we have a responsibility to you, our customers, to ensure that you enjoy your experience at (the place) Sometimes we find customers who have problems controlling their gambling, and we try to help them as much as we can. We are able to do this because we have talked to GamCare, a charitable organisation that provides help and counselling to those with gambling problems.
Keeping control...
Whilst the majority of people do gamble within their means for some it can spiral out of control. In order to help you keep control we would like you to remember the following:
* Gambling should be entertaining and not seen as a genuine way of making money
* Avoid chasing losses
* Only gamble what you can afford to lose
* Keep track of the time and amount of money you spend gambling
* If you need help, use the deposit limits and time limits in the player protection page to control the amount you can spend
* If you need to have a break from gambling then you can use our exclusion options within the player protection section
* If you need to talk to someone about problem gambling then contact GamCare
.....
Isn't that wonderful? There are infact measures in place to help a player who's out of control. Of course we realize, that gambling addiction, just like drug, alcohol and other addiction is in fact tough to beat and especially cold turkey. It just draws us back.
However, back to this thread, I have a couple of questions for ilosetoomuch:
1. Which casino do you have a problem with...and why keep this a secret so long?
2. What date did you first ask them to close your account?
3. How did you communicate this desire? Did you email them let's say from your yahoo mailbox, to let's say support@xyzcasino.com
... or did you use their site's help form and click Submit to fire off your question?
If the latter is true, the casino probably has your original contact date and time stamped.
4. Is/are your account/ now closed?
5. Have you taken the advice of this thread and download gamblock / deleted the software in question?
6. And finally, do you recognize that casinos have terms and conditions that specifically make you virtually sign (by downloading the casino software, opening up an account and playing there) what's known as "Terms of agreement" , which invariably includes a clause that the player is responsible for all transactions on the account , and that there's a risk of losing money?
Not trying to rub salt in the wound, but taking an objective view on the situation. Remember, after rain comes sunshine... but at some point we do need to take responsibility for our own actions.
In fact, I recommend you search for Intervention episodes on youtube... trust me, when you see how those addicts and their loved ones suffer..then you'll understand the true meaning of addiction.

LOL! You people put to much faith in the representatives! I have made several casinoes open up accounts even if I was on the 6 month block list, even 32Red! So don't live in denial! Ans for those knowing the people, it's very easy to check!
I made the casinoes perfectly clear I have gambling problem, but begging for an account let's you loose say another 10K of sweet dollars even if you are blocked!
Also - I even got the max deposit ceiling up to "unlimited" by "mistake"... Can you believe it! Then I asked for a 1.500 limit, and they again by "mistake" made it "15.000". I was happy however since I, tragically, could deposit more!
I am sure I could sue many of theese casinoes, really, but what's the use! I'm the dumb ass falling into their scheme, and they screwed me ower big time. However - so would any other casino do to! (And most did).
Being one of the big loosers - and not an affiliate - you get to see stuff happen!
