I know this is just data for 1 specific slot, but all providers tend to have slotpayout% for all their slots within a very small range. (<2%).
And I agree with you that low variance slot are better at conceiling a low payout%.
But I still stand by my opinion on Playtech payout%.
There are some Playtech involved members in this forum and they are free to speak up...
In a later post the rep said: "In this example the X number of lines = 25"
So it should be Football Rules or Alien Hunter given the date of the post and release of the games. For me it was shocking news that either of those slots could have so low payout%. I played a lot with both games, and I can pretty well imagine that the above payout% is accurate, and the rep had no reason to publish a lower number than the real payout%.
There's a huge difference between a 95,5% payout and a 92,9% payout, even considering the slot's variance. Imagine playing 3 card or pai gow poker or even roulette with and without house edge, 2,6% does matter.
It is only my best guess, but I believe that the 20liners and the 9liners might have a bit lower house edge. But I would bet that they are well below 95% as well.
