RTG free spins question

So the other day I'm playing Treasure Chamber and getting next to nothing. Just getting ready to leave and hit free spins....the spins are going and I'm still getting nothing, it retriggered twice and I was like "Come ONNNNN" and so I started hitting the spin button to get through these losers quicker so I could go and play something a bit more forthcoming. So right after the free spins finished I hit the button one more time and got something good. Typical.

So I'm wondering if I hadn't been hitting the spin button and speeding up the process, would I have landed on the 'good' spin while I was in free spins when it would have counted for something? I guess what I'm asking is are all the free spin wins calculated right away as soon as the feature is triggered and then you get those combos no matter what? Or is each spin generated when its turn comes up? Does anyone know? I'm just curious because it's happened on a couple of games...now I'm all paranoid to push the spin button in case I miss something good...

Also note he states the spins in the free spin rounds are not generated independently each spin but before the round starts and sent as a batch.
I think both me and dogboy gave our thoughts as to why that should be but it was a very interesting revelation.

lol - lately those slow spinning machines are the only thing that make my deposits last more than 10 minutes!!!!

Actually I've hit a few good spins on that game a couple times so I put up with the annoyances.
