[QUOTE=Luigi810;250590]Hi Zach, first let me start off by say Hi and welcome. I myself am going through the same problem and I would hate to see you go through what I have been through and your heading right in that direction if not already there, please read my thread, it's under "other complaints" and it says "I never knew until now", this should show you were gambling leads. You CAN stop gambling altogether if that's what you REALLY want to do, I haven't played in almost a week, I REALLY wanted to stop. Please read my story. Along with my story and the people here, you CAN get through this.
    Good Luck to you Zach

Thank you everyone for your replies. I have to say that I am very shocked to see this much support, and I really didn't expect it. Everyone here seems like such an avid group of gamblers that I expected to be made fun of or shouted out of the forum. Thank you very much for understanding my problem, showing support and trying to help me out.

KasinoKing, thank you so much for your reply. It was very informative and after being so stressed out from last night, it put me on the right direction. I checked out that page and have installed website blocking software. I feel this definately helps. You're right about the lottery, I will stop immediately.

Do you mean that your son struggles in life and with his education? Does your son also gamble? I hope for you and him that he doesn't.

It really is odd because over and beyond all the money that I have lost (and heaven knows its a lot for me!!), I have wasted so much time to gambling. It has really put my education on the back burner, something that I am not proud of. Had I not gambled, I would probably be doing a PhD right now..

I am not sure about a real-world group, it might be intimidating. However online help sounds good to me. This community has already offered so much more support than I expected. thank you all.

Thanks. This is the kind of bankroll managment that I tried to apply. The problem is that sometimes you just don't get lucky enough to win, no matter how conservatlvely you play.

Thank you every for your replies and support. Everyone of them is encouraging to me.

Breaking the Addiction to "Money" / online support groups

    Thanks Zach!

If you are looking for an online support group for a gambling addiction or such.
One of the largest online support groups for many addictions is Daily Strength
    Try here...
    http://dailystrength.org/support-groups

Some of you may find this interesting! I know I did.. and this is just one of the sites you can find for each problem you might face.
A lot of you mention the "allure of money" and an "addiction to money"
This is just One site I found that looks very interesting.
    Propeller.com
    http://www.propeller.com/story/2007/...ney-addiction/

On breaking the addiction to money. I know the number of sites pertaining to just those two phrases must be un-imaginable (is that a word?.. if not, it is now ) The world wide web is HUGE!!

You are destined to find something and some where you fit right in.. like here at Casinomeister... some are like family, others friends and educators! with an occasional pesky neighbor here or there !

    Good Luck all!

    Hi Zach,
How about taking up a sport that you enjoy?
That will give you a buzz and consume some of your time and compulsion and keep you fit for the girls .
    Its a win, win, win!

Gambling is for old farts like me who can't run or chase the Girls anymore without making a fool of themselves.
    Early Twenties?
Get out there Zach and enjoy life!
At your age you don't need money to be happy.
You will soon get over your troubles

    Good luck to you.

    Hi zachbb!

Indeed you got a lot of high quality answers to your post. You initial post was also fair and honest compared to other "I Quit - casinos cheats etc." posts and that is probably why you got some quality feedback. I will also give a little feedback, but not as supporting as the others.

As a student you should know better and focus on the studies instead of feeding the casino your hard earned money you could have spent much better. (beer, girls comes into mind...)
You got too greedy and stupid to put it simple. There is no easy money and you learned that lesson relatively cheap compared to what you could have lost later in life when you had a family etc. So this is
good news actually if you learn from your mistake. Think of it that way and turn it into something positive.

Casinos, Nigerian scammers and even way too many reality shows on TV gives people the illusion that they can get rich without hard work. It would be an easy solution, but it is not that easy actually. Did you even research slots before dumping all your money in? You could have checked which software providers had the highest payouts. Even more you could have calculated "Risk of Ruin" using estimate for SD for video-slots, your bet-size, bankroll and goal(when to stop).

If you had researched this you would still have your money since you would not have started with this knowledge. You paid 1500 EU for something you had no idea about. Slots are much harder to beat that people think. Actually slots are one of the worst casino games you can possible pick, if you want to multiply your bankroll a few times. So you can not even blame your luck, it was almost destinied to happen. I do understand the video-slot mechanics and done many simulations and if other people did this as well - the casinos would be out of slot players.

Yeah - just flame me for being old grumpy and unsensitive. But maybe the truth can stop other players from attempting the same stunt before too late.
