MG Lobby Improvements

I'm undecided on the new lobby so far, but I was fooling around and when I hit change view to go to the games list I found a neat little "jackpot thermometer". This is a pretty interesting addition, I'd like to see how high some of them get, king cashalot is 466.9 degrees right now, might be helpful on some of the progressives. Of course there's the disclaimer each spin in random, blah blah.

I think they've almost got something there.
Adding some measurable, visual reference that indicates how recently or how long ago a given jackpot was won is a great idea, but saying that a jackpot is 'hot' or 'cold' is rather misleading IMHO.

Simply adding a 'date last won' indicator would be more direct and informative (although it still wouldn't affect your chances of winning:rolleyes:)

I'm pretty sure that AllSlots used or has been using this lobby for a year or more. "If" it's the same one, I remember VWM posting about the terrible time he had with it, and how it froze his whole system and he'd have to reboot. Of course, I think that was his old system. I'll see if I can find the link, almost positive it's the same lobby format though, judging by the "temperature" thingies.

Here's one link, but only from April '07. I know there is another thread previous to this one.

And another one, from a month previous, March of 2007. The interactive lobby stuff starts on page two of the thread and explains the problems that VWM had with it crashing his system. Be interesting to know if anyone else has problems, and what OS they are using, etc.

That's the same pain in the a** lobby that buggered up my old system. NO MG casino now works on my old system, and all have been loaded onto my new PC, which can easily cope with this fancy new lobby. The default view is the main problem, it shows the games as icons, rather than the list, similar to the old "Thumper" lobby, and some of the early flash lobbies. The problem is that this view puts a great deal of strain on the graphics capability of cheaper systems.
Although the view can be changed to the traditional list view with meaningless jackpot thermometer, this view is often not remembered as the player's preferred choice, and they have to switch view each login.
Another drawback is that when leaving banking and other functions, the big and obvious "return to casino/lobby" button is no longer there, but the function is achieved by an inconspicuous "back" clickable text link to the far left of the menu buttons. This can be puzzling when first encountered.
Some of these lobbies may lack the ability to log in, there was a bug when Trident Lounge first upgraded in that the login window did not autolaunch, and there is no "connect" button to manually launch it. After a couple of days I found it was possible to login under "options", with the option "login" opening the login window.
There is a new feature, auto login, that bypasses the need to go through the login panel at all. I have not tried this yet, I am sure it is broken:rolleyes:

Yeah, the auto login works pretty well for me. I just wish the message would stop welcoming me to the new lobby, very annoying. The background sounds keep coming back too...
