Hi all,

please be advised if you plan to go on a holiday and want to access your Neteller acc to bring an utility bill along to your holiday home.

I went to Portugal, (live in the Netherlands) and wanted to withdraw money to pay for some things here while being on holiday.

The minute I tried to access my acc from my holiday address, it was closed.

I am not able to access it until I come forward with an utility bill and a scan of my proof of identity.

Obviously one does not take utility bills along while going on a holiday and this now leaves me stuck.

Even tough I asked before I left if there would be any problems for me to go to another country and if I could access my acc. There was no problem as far as the rep was concerned.

Now, there is no way for me to get access to my money due to this rule.

So, if you want to use Neteller abroad, make sure to bring your phone bill.

Hope this will make sure that nobody will walk into the same problems I just stepped in. I need to get some way of getting my bill send over to me. There is nobody in my house and I have no way of getting this bill to me.

2800 kilometer from home, no money (thousands in my acc) and no solution offered by Netteller other than walk home, get the bill and send it to them. Yeah right..

I am still in progress to try and get a solution.

I can assure you that my holiday has turned into a right bummer thanks to Neteller. Stuck and no money.

Anyway, this is not your problem, I just hope I can save you some hassle once you want to go abroad and use your Neteller acc.

BRING A BILL. (Like you normally do..while going on holidays)

Cheerio

So sorry you got problems with them!!!
I don't really understand why they need a utility bill.
I had a similar problem once but they fixed it within a few hours. The point was that I have a german address registered with Neteller, but I am also in Greece a few times a year and I do play online, when I am there too. When I tried to access my account from Greece it was locked within seconds. I contacted support via email and they gave me a call to clear the problem (or did I call them? Unfortunately don't really remember as it was about 3 years ago). Anyway they opened my account again, but since then, I change my address into the greek or the german one before leaving. No problems with that :) (not yet at least).

But they never warn you before something like this happens... I hope they will sort it out for you soon.

Good luck!

Stange, I had a similar problem accessed Neteller through a UK network while I normally use my Dutch computer. But they solved it within a matter of minutes for me.. Called them and after explaining I was put through to another department and they restored access. Perhaps it has to do with the kind of account you hold?

As far as I know, it is a premier account..

I had this happen to me once when I was in Thailand. Ever since then if I am on holiday and think I may access Neteller I simply phone them ahead of time and tell them the dates and where I will be. I've never had a problem since then.

That's what they recommend but unfortunately they don't make it very clear. They should have a security question or two they can ask for situations like this. Asking for a utility bill when someone is away from home is just plain stupid.

But, this is NETELLER! What do you expect?

This happened to me, and again it was cleared in one call.
They have a security lock that learns your access patterns, and more importantly your IP address. If you suddenly start using a new IP address they lock the account. This would not just be confined to holidays, but changes of ISP, and use on Wi-Fi hotspots in the home country.

The OP seems to have advised Neteller beforehand, and was told it should be no problem - so DOUBLE Stupid of Neteller.

Neteller refuses to reopen my account now - Can I sue them?

Neteller just informed me that due to new regulations and recent fraud cases they refuse to reopen my account. The sorry sir, we can not do anything and we apologize for the inconvenience seriously comes out of my nose now.

I am now completely stuck here. I have several thousand dollars in this account and can not access it.

I am looking for someone who will assist me to sue the shit out of them.

I am stuck 2800 kilometers from home. Thanks to this stupid, insecure company called Neteller. They say they want to protect me as a customer, yet they now have seriously ruined my life.

Security issues and breaches should NEVER be my problem, being a customer and, since they advised me PERSONALLY and PRIOR to leaving my own country that there would be no problem, I think they really are letting me down and causing me serious damage.

Is there any lawyer out there that would like to go ahead with this and split profits? As I think I have a case but have no clue how to sue. ( It seems I am also a poet and dont even know it)

Is there anybody who can assit me or give me some advise on this?

Man, I am so stuck. I worked very hard to be able to have this holiday.

My girlfriend has left me over this already. All my money is stuck in this rotten Neteller account and now I have no way out. What should I do, WALK home?

People tell me, why have all your money in Neteller? Well, this is how I make money. I work and get paid in my Netller acc. and normally leave it in Neteller until I need it.

Easy access and as they told me there was no problem prior to leaving and getting it out to my bank account, I thought, why not leave it there until I arrive.

This way, Nobody could have stolen it for instance during my traveling. And, since they said it was no issue, it should have been just fine.

I wonder how come it is possible for other people to just make a phone call and solve the same issue as I am having right now. But, my situation is as stuck as an rock.

FYI my account never had any issues, it is a premier account. All they want me to do is come forward with a bill which would proof my identity.

What stupid rule is this?

Imagine, some crook knows about this, brakes into my house, finds a phone bill, sends this to Neteller and he or she will be able to empty my account the very minute after it. Great security.

Anyone?

Thanks.

I know my utility/landline phone/cell phone company lets me view my bill online. Can you do this as well, and get a print out?

Or maybe get access to a fax and call them...see if they'll fax one.

Unfortunately they do not accept this at all. And, I am not able to do this anyway. Thanks for your help.

I shouldnt even have to do this in the first place right? They advised my by phone that there would be no problem prior to leaving my country.

How would they know if it was printed from an online source? Most have a "printable" version that nobody could tell where it came from.

As far as the "proof" via a phone call, you should have got in writing via email. I know hindsight is 20/20, though....

It is just that I have no access to it from the internet. Thanks again for your help.

The same thing happened to me once. There was NOTHING they would do until I returned back to my country and ran through a load of hoops.

Lesson learned: only keep as much money online as you can comfortably lose.

They do this to me every single time I log in from somewhere else - every time I travel my account gets locked.
To reopen it they need to call my home phone number - how can they be so stupid?

I'm more interested in what casinos this guy is promoting on his site? When you go to GoldenInternetcasino.com...there are five links there, four of them leading to an identical looking page, advertising a Micro casino. As does 365vegascasino.com. There are no such Micro casinos as UKGrandCasino, or ClubLasVegasCasino or Lucky American Casino. The flash links do indeed lead to a flash Micro casino, but I have no idea which one it is. I didn't know that Microgaming offered a "Start Your Own Casino" white label program. So GIC, which casinos are you promoting? Why not simply advertise the actual casinos?

This is very similar to the "Mint Las Vegas" emails that so many people received, advertising an MG casino. Upon d/l, it turned out that the casinos were Jupiter Club, Roxy Palace, etc. I haven't actually gone to the trouble of d/l one of these things, to see which Micro comes up. If someone feels so inclined, please do so. I guess people are free to advertise however they like, but I don't think that MG or the casinos involved in this would be too impressed by their well known names being covered up and peddled as something else.

This guy may very well be 2,800 miles from home, but something seems very strange here. Maybe just my suspicious nature.

Well, I just got off the phone with Playshare. Lucky American, Club Las Vegas, 365Vegas Casino and the others all had the same support phone # listed. It was answered simply casino support and when I asked which casino it was, was told CasinoShare/Playshare. So all these "masked" pages will d/l as one of the Playshare Group of Casinos ie. CasinoShare, GrandMonaco, etc. They were pretty interested in these "pages", and I'm almost positive that Mario will be as well, and so will the affiliate manager when he gets in on Monday morning.

They've promised to email me tomorrow night once the manager is in, and let me know what they're going to do about this guy. But I have a feeling his problems are going to be bigger than just Neteller.

Why in the hell do cheesy affiliates pull stunts like this? If you want to promote Playshare casinos, then promote them under the proper name. They are a decent group from everything I've read about them....why the need to mislead people and mask what they are actually d/l'ing? Are you also responsible for those Mint Las Vegas mailings?

Pissed off.

Those sites are almost the EXACT format as these spammers are using.

wtf?

and both sites in the signature lead to a download of "The Casino"...:what: wtf is "The Casino"? Also, all of the casinos besides Goldencasino listed on that website link to the same download.

I played the guinea pig, and downloaded the casino setup and installed it. It's not GM/playshare/whatever.. It's just "The Casino", and yes, it's MG.

I have a strong feeling that he just grabbed a phone number from a well known group and stuck it on the pages.

Winbig, look at the support page on one of these pages, and get the support # for U.S. I used the Canadian one which is 1-888-214-1951 and that's how I got Playshare support. The # is the same on all of these "support" pages. Anyway, get the U.S. # and try calling it and see if you also get the Playshare Group.

The Casino? I used to play at CasinoUS (VegasPartnerLounge), and that's how their emails used to be headed, as coming from "TheCasino".

Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

The plot thickens..........my bullshit detector was gonging away as I read the OP's story. What does Neteller know about this guy that we would find fascinating?

Did you get the scoop on his girlfriend since she said "no bux,no fux":D

Ummm...sorry Nash, I was unsuccessful in trying to track her down. Gonna have to hire more staff it seems.
