Dear XXXXX

La Isla Casino has to warn you about false promotions the next week.
There has been a theft of one of our laptops and this laptop did
unfortunately have a mailing list in it. It seems that your e-mail was on that
list.

There was no other potential harmful information in this list other
then your e-mail. The person who are responsible have been identified and
are reported to the proper authorities.

The only official offers and promotions that are valid in La Isla
Casino are the ones that you receive from an official La Isla Casino mail
address.

The 200% offer is not a valid promotion from La Isla Casino. As you
will see from the e-mail address that it was sent
from.laislacasino@cashette.com and are not a valid La Isla email.

Valid La Isla mails are marketing@laislacasino.com and so on.

We wish you all a lucky Christmas and hope you will have a great time
in the coming New Year.

At least they admitted it and warned people. That must suck for them.

The thing that struck me was "laptop". I never invision online casinos being run by laptop.

These La Isla (Bonita) people did some pretty strange things when they first appeared on the scene, and that unfortunately makes me cynical and negative when I see something like this, because it could be used as a defence if a deal that invaded player privacy happened to be going down and was uncovered.

The idea that a laptop has a casino's valuable asset in the form of its complete mailing list on it in a presumably unprotected format just boggles the mind, because this not only constitutes a loss of privacy, but opens the players up to the possibility of yet more damned spam from the ungodly.

It has been said a thousand times before but still bears repeating: operators have a serious duty of responsibility to guard and protect their players' private information.

Really! Even us lowly amateurs can easily encrypt our sensitive information these days (at least if you have a Mac...ok no more of that;)).....an online casino! "Dude, where's my laptop?" Just not acceptable.

It has been said a thousand times before but still bears repeating: operators have a serious duty of responsibility to guard and protect their players' private information.

A big double Amen to that, Jetset. Privacy and security are of paramount importance. Some online casinos require a lot: credit card numbers, photocopies of passports, utility bills, just about everything you need to run any kind of scam on an unsuspecting soul. They should have rock solid security.

With Neteller and other such online deposit methods available, faxback forms, utility bill scans, credit card numbers etc. should become a thing of the past. (Neteller could be used for age confirmation)

The only Casinos that have never asked for any such documents from me upon withdrawal are 32Red, paf.fi, Expekt, Unibet.

Cheers,
SM

You'd think they would hire someone who can put a sentence together without butchering the language.

At least they are warning players, but like Jetset implied - this is pretty goofy and smells a little fishy.

I received both theses emails. Frankly, between the 2 emails, I'm not sure which one (maybe both?) is bogus.

Simply signing an email "Manager" isn't very professional either.
