reminds me of this rap from classified, with an accordion over the beat. hopefully one day i can do both of these simultaneously. gotta start playing the accordionfirst though. i saw a crazy youtube vid of a guy doing a mad solo on the accordion. anyhow a prevalent line in this rap (~2006?) when he opines that in the maritimes: "we pay a buck for a litre of gas, and, smokes cost ten dollars a pack, damn". and at my work is $1.33 for fuel and $11.75 as of last week for a top brand of cigarettes.

also of note, actress ellen page of 'juno' fame also hails from halifax, and featured as treena lahey in season two of the trailer park boys.

oh and i don't think a rants and raves section looks good on the forum. but neither do locked/deleted threads/posts or banned users i guess. it used to always be "wildcards/attic wi' ye", maybe a "dark basement" for the really embarrassing stuff? or maybe just mod-edit some stuff in to make the dismal/lame posts more entertaining?

She was fantastic in Juno it must be said. Made the film IMO.

aye. i've taken a liking to her and watched as many of her films as i could find. hard candy was good, an american crime brutal true story but well done, tracey fragments effed up and she rides a bus clad in a shower curtain. in tpb she fits right in and is perfect for the role. i still can't find some of her more obscure work... oh i d/l'ed her snl episode too, pretty funny.

she's a gem. and juno did have a kickass screenplay, but could as you say easily have bombed if not for the leading lady's brilliance. as far as i'm concerned, it was the best movie of 2007. the kid who plays bleeker is kind of a dweeb though.
