I don't get it...why not just play the whole thing out as planned, show all of the tapes except for the final 9, and then wait to televise the final table 117 days later. Why in the world would they even consider waiting 117 before even playing the final table?
Same results...Harrah's is just running the WSOP into the ground....won't be long before the WPT takes complete control. Most of their tournaments pay out several million now too, and you don't have to wait for them to run once a year either.

The more I think about this the more it pisses me off. My husband is positively livid!

I think the idea of delaying it really sucks and Pokeraddict brought up some great points.
More money has to be the motivating factor for this stupid decision. They can hype it up more, sell more stuff, maybe they are even thinking that the can make some money from bets on who the winner(s) will be, also increase their advertising revenue for 4 more months. There are a lot of possiblities here for more revenue. They already do this to some extent by not broadcasting the live event, so why not milk it for all it's worth, or all they can get out of it. What else could the primary motive be??? Hopefully it will piss people off enough that it will backfire on them. ![]()
