Un effin real I spoke to soon - just got an email now from Lucky Red sent from "Fiona" offering a bunch of bonuses. 3 Time I have now hit the UNSUBSCRIBE button - makes no difference! ClubWorld rep I will PM you, but im stating in public I should NOT have to PM a rep to get taken of an email list Very bad practice!

I have investigated this one and while everything technically is working I think I have figured out what has created the problems being discussed here.

    1. Our server’s response to unsubscribe requests

All unsubscribe requests are bundled together and sent to us by SFTP once per day. Our server then polls this data and updates our databases to prevent any further emails being sent. When I investigated this I discovered that the server was set to poll the previous day’s data rather than the current. This meant that an unsubscribe request may not be effective for up to 48 hours, resulting in another email being received the day following the unsubscribe request.

I have worked with my DBA to rectify this and effectively closed off this gap.

    2. Individual Casino Subscriptions

We treat each casino in our group separately with regards to email subscriptions so that players can choose not receive emails from Casino A while continuing to receive emails from Casino B. The flip side of this however is that if you want to unsubscribe from both Casino A and Casino B you would need to click on an unsubscribe link for each casino separately. Considering that we have five casinos in the group it is clear how this is compounded.

I have specified a technical development that will allow our players to manage their subscription status with each casino, however if any of you want me to manage your subscription status across the group while this is in progress please PM me your usernames and the casinos that you do / don’t want to receive emails from.

    3. Our contact strategy

As we have grown our group so rapidly in recent times the volumes of emails that we are sending out have increased accordingly. It is clear from the feedback here that we need to take another look at our contact strategy and I will have new procedures implemented in the next few days.

While I continue to work on this I would welcome any further feedback you guys have in terms of how you would like to be contacted.

    Thanks
    Tom

You can start by grouping your casino website links together as the 7Sultans group does. They ask what casino you want to unsubscribe from and there is a list you can choose from. Simple, easy effective and it WORKS, just as English Harbor groups connected casinos links work just like 7Sultans. So it has been done by a few groups already.

Thanks for getting this darn thing working the way it should hopefully!

I know for those of us that really dislike bonuses 99.9% of the time it is just irritating to get these useless (for us) offers.

Someone said why not just hit delete, it is as simple as that...well it really isn't as simple as that when you belong to more than one group, you could be getting up to 50 a day....and when some of the headers say we have free money for you...well of course you are going to open it then find out the money free is a stupid match bonus..

So, I would rather not get any of these from ANY casino and this group was the toughest to stop. But at least now they are aware of it. thanks!

When I first saw this thread I though it might be about the thing I put on facebook about once a week which is about a promo for Manhattan Slots where players can win a free $10k shopping trip to Manhattan.

I was so relieved when I found it was not me lol! Putting the same post up about once a week for this promotion on facebook and twitter isn't considered spamming right? It lasts until the end of May so I wanted to make sure anyone who wanted to take part of the promo could. I would never ever send an email out more than once. That's just annoying to players.

Anyways, I am not sure I want to advertise for this casino if they are bugging players so much with that many emails.
