![]() FWIW I get the same deluge that the rest of you are experiencing, sometimes as many a 100 or more per day per email address. My spam filters get about 70% of it but still, it is a PITA. ![]()

When you use the unsubscribe link or respond and ask to be removed, they never remove you, all it does is let the spammer know he/she has a 'live' email address, that they can sell to another spammer or just send more spam to. Never respond in any way to a SPAM and NEVER NEVER click on any links inside a spam email. I would also suggest that if possible you disable all images in your email. If you can see a spammers images in an email they can 'see' your computer and again they know they have a 'live' address.

My spam originated from signing up through Platinum Play Casino. Im get 3 daily e-mails to various sites. The spam filter catches most of them but I still get discs sent to my home address. This is coming from an affiliate employee

If you no longer play there, you can directly contact Fortune Lounge and ask to be removed from all their mailing lists. This was part of a deal they offered to resolve the spamming crisis of two years ago, they should have a mechanism in place to ensure that linked affiliates also remove you from mailing databases. I believe many casinos are in on this, as there are more credible "indicators" for this than the "indicators" casinos say they have that PROVE that groups of accounts are all linked to a "fraud ring". If casinos really had nothing to do with spam, we would find affiliates having their accounts terminated IMMEDIATELY, it would NOT take several months of constant badgering as it did with Fortune Lounge back then, and more recently, Spin Palace & Grand Monaco.

also, 9 times out of 10, they have programs that use a brute-force attack against email servers, trying each and every character combination until it gets a match, then continues on. That's why you will get spam to an email address that you've never used anywhere else.....
Most email providers have tight blocks against this, but yahoo/gmail/hotmail are prime targets...

Funnily enough it is a yahoo account. I find them pretty good for blocking spam. I dont really care too much about the spam, its easy enough to delete but a bit pissed off that my personal details are being passed on
