    Problem with Captain Cook's Casino - Is this common?

    Hi,

    I'm an Admin on a Swedish casino forum and one of my members have a problem with Captain Cook's Casino. We don't promote Captain Cook's on our site but since he is a respected member we are trying to help him.

    He made a deposit and played Roulette. He managed to win 1000 dollars but the casino refuse to pay him.

    The casino says:
    "Placing single bets equal to or in excess of 25% or more of the value of the bonus credited to the account prior to the play-through requirement for that bonus having been met"

    The bets seems to be from 30 dollar - 200 dollar.

    Now I have never heard about this before and these types of rules don't exist at Swedish casinos like Unibet, Betsson, Betsafe or CasinoEuro. At least none of my players have ever had any problems on those sites and. Granted the bonuses are not very large at Swedish casinos, only a few hundred dollars, but still.

    Is this common at international casinos or is Captain Cook's rogue?

    Also, can anything be done about this?

    This is the mail from Captain Cook's:

    "The Casino reserves the right to withhold any withdrawals and/or confiscate all winnings for irregular play. ‘Irregular play’ includes but is not limited to any one or more of the following types of play:

    i. Placing single bets equal to or in excess of 25% or more of the value of the bonus credited to the account prior to the play-through requirement for that bonus having been met;
    ii. Using the double-up feature to increase bet values;
    iii. Even money bets on Sic Bo, Craps and Roulette"

    The player received a bonus of €50 on 23-Oct-2009 05:37:01pm GMT and then made the following bets prior to meeting the wagering requirements:

    305 View 10/23/2009 6:16:21 PM European Roulette € 32,00
    418 View 10/23/2009 7:40:21 PM European Roulette € 64,00

    779 View 10/23/2009 10:53:55 PM European Roulette € 60,00
    937 View 10/24/2009 9:11:10 AM European Roulette € 80,00
    1045 View 10/24/2009 9:34:56 AM European Roulette € 160,00
    1053 View 10/24/2009 9:37:03 AM European Roulette € 160,00
    1054 View 10/24/2009 9:38:32 AM European Roulette € 100,00
    1076 View 10/24/2009 9:43:53 AM European Roulette € 160,00
    1221 View 10/24/2009 10:21:58 AM European Roulette € 200,00
    1229 View 10/24/2009 10:24:34 AM European Roulette € 200,00
    1318 View 10/24/2009 10:45:14 AM European Roulette € 192,00
    1348 View 10/24/2009 10:54:16 AM European Roulette € 200,00
    1350 View 10/24/2009 10:55:20 AM European Roulette € 200,00
    and many more..

    Prior to meeting the wagering requirements he was only allowed to bet €12.50 (25% of €50)and he has breached the rules considerably by betting amounts up to €200. As such, the deposit was refunded and all winnings were confiscated.
    Looking forward to replies.

    that's the rule and there has been a few cases of payouts being denied.
    Some have had over $20k US denied.

    All the Casino Rewards casinos have that term I believe and All Slots and All Jackpots from the Jackpot Factory have similar terms. Others perhaps can comment on other MG casinos as those are only ones I know about.

    There was big discussion about it over a the GIA forum

    Common rule, people used to go in make a big bet then reduce to make the WR, Some of these rules need revamped because this player wasn't doing that. Obviously the player was making larger bets that could only be afforded with a bonus. doesn't seem like "abusing the spirit of the offer" to me.

    If I owned the joint I'd pay out and make 10 times as much back. High stakes martingale sounds like a winner for the casino to me.
