Such a standard already exists, the US Dollar. It doesn't work though, as players from other countries end up paying extortionate fees simply to convery their currency into standard casino chips. Players prefer to play in their own currency (except for "bonus abusers", who prefer to eat the costs of playing in UK Pounds ) as there are no "hidden" costs in the conversion, and if they are charged any fees, it is obvious.

So long as you don't have to deposit double the amount to claim the bonus then ladbrokes are well within their right not to apply currency conversion rates.

    Example -
    100% Matchup
    £25 to claim £25
    $50 to claim $50 OR $25 to claim $25 - NOT $50 to claim $25...

    Get me?

Hmm, still no response from anyone at Ladbrokes to this issue Funnily enough, I just got an exclusive tournament invite from their poker room that starts off with the claim "We would really like to see you back playing with us..."
