Sorry if it's been explained elsewhere on the forum(I haven't seen it if it has).

What does the facebook button do? I have pressed it and tried to open it in a new tab or window and it just opens the CM forum home page again?!?

is it supposed to log you in with your facebook login?

Something to that effect. I'll also show you who your friends are in the forum who have FB accounts. I've got to do some work in the backend to get it going though. Busy bees we be.

I still have to figure that one out. Thanks for the reminder.
I think I've figured it out.

Go ahead Chayton, click it and see what happens. Watch the forum disappear :p

And anybody else for that matter - click the button, and then make a post somewhere. It may (or may not) appear in Facebook. I'll check out the results in the morning :D

Cheers!

I tried it

But not much happened.... not that I can see anyway.....

I did find Max's facebook account though when I went looking for 'casinomeister' on fb though..
Wow max... 5 friends? that's a pretty damned exclusive friends list :)

hmm - same as Gremmy, I don't see what's happening.

EDIT: I just tried logging out from Casinmeister and went to see if I could log back IN with the Facebook button - all I got was a message that you can't log in with AOL (which I've never used) and went to Facebook and can't find anything. So huh I don't get it.

Yeah well y'know, when you got it you got it. :D

Actually I've never quite dialed into the Facebook thing. I created the account because one of the casino reps was reportedly active on there and I wanted to get in touch with them. No response ... and that was more or less the end of my Facebook experience.

I'm with you, Max. I get so frustrated trying to make sense out of facebook, twitter, even myspace. I just do not have the mindset for it. I like writing letters, phoning people, even e-mail, but the rest is simply a waste of energy to me.

I think I am too old or too jaded to get a kick out of these sites. They are just an invasion of my privacy. I got conned into signing up at facebook. Didn't like it, tried and tried to delete my account. Couldn't figure it out. E-mailed a number of times to get my account closed, never got anywhere.

Now my grand kids keep posting on my wall, just so I get an e-mail about them posting on my wall. They think it is hysterical to torment Gramma!! Brats!!! :p

I have a Facebook page for my one site (I've got like 68 or 69 fans, woot ) but they won't let you just have a Facebook page without a Facebook account - you have to create an account, then make a page, then make your account the administrator of the page.

So that's why I opened my account but I do have a few old friends on there too now. One chick who used to be my neighbor - I swear she spends all bloody day on Facebook, I had to hide her messages because otherwise every time I logged in, my wall was full of her little farmville or mafia games or survey results and she choked out everybody else.

I tried to open a facebook account a few months ago but i got an error message and then it told me I was invalid lol. My daughter opened one for me a few weeks ago because she wanted me to try out some game on there. i think i've been there once, and not sure I even remember how to get back there again  I'm with jod, I think I'm too old LOL

Or you might just have better things to do. I spent some time on Twitter a while back -- anonymously, don't bother looking -- and yeah, it was okay, but what a time suck! I think it's just interactive (very low bandwidth) TV, a fancy way to piss away the day with just enough treats to make you think it's worthwhile. Maybe I'll tune in if I'm part of the next revolution but other than that ... meh!

I think it's working now.

You click on the "connect" button and you connect to your Facebook account. The "Likes" are turned on for the Blogs at the moment, and for any articles published in the "Meister Beat". So when you "Like" something, it will show up in your profile at Facebook. Pretty cool eh?

Or nay?

Awesome.....Thanks!!

Really appreciate the hard work you put in around here to make CM the enjoyable place that it is! :D

Love that it can post my comments to my wall and the 'likes', etc...

One question. Can I like someone's forum post? Thinking the same as the thanks button here. Will there be a 'like' button so I can like a post a member made and it'll show up on facebook that I liked so and so's post on CM?:what:

Cheers
Gremmy

This is something that I am apprehensive about since a number of members have been abusing the "Thanks" button as of lately. I'm looking into this at the moment - it needs to be something that can be either turned on or off for individuals.

I don't get your profile, it just allows you to publish a post/thread/blog via Facebook. Some people are really into that.

.

What is a Facebook

To be serious, I have actually never used Facebook (never registered). My friends think there is something wrong with me :o

I like to talk to people instead of chatting with them...guess I am old fashioned

I got an email awhile back about how all the big social media (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube) are going to be merging - it's going to be called YouTwitFace. :p
