When you reply to a thread the email option at the bottom of the page before you post is automatically set for email notification and you can change that if you want. Just look for that before you post your reply!

The short answer is "yes, if that's what you've selected". If you need more details, keep reading.

When you are in a forum, you're looking at the listing for the posts in that forum as opposed to an actual thread within the forum, you have a dark bar at the top of the listing that says "Threads in Forum" on the left.

To the right of that bar you have a gold coloured section with two drop-down boxes, the first of which is labeled "Forum Tools". In that drop-down is an item "Subscribe to this Forum".

Click on "Subscribe to this Forum" and you'll go to a screen that asks you what type of email notification you'd like: "No email notification", "Daily updates by email", or "Weekly updates by email".

Make your email notification selection and then click the "Add Subscription" button below the notification selection box. This will add the new subscription and you will receive email updates to your registered email address accordingly.

FYI, you can Manage -- modify and delete -- your Subscriptions from the User CP.

Does that answer your question? Ask away if you need more info on this.
