Happy Birthday!!!

Hey Ted......I knew it was your bday today, but I'm late, lol. I guess where you are, it's over now. If you're anything like me, it's getting to the point where you'd almost rather forget. :D

Hope it was a good one anyway!!

lauram, what bonuses? :( The only one I got, and the only one I get every year, was from Casino Rewards (thanks) :) All the others so far are match bonuses...

greedygirl - muppets can't blink, so I think I've a bit of an advantage there!

chuchu - not so hot, as usual... next time I'll leave the cash at home and take a small limit credit card for food :)

pinababy - not quite over yet, but the wife was late with dinner - I eat at home once in a blue moon so she has no excuse!

Anyhow, thank you everyone for the birthday wishes :)

A small story to tell, anyhow. As you know, today is the 9th, and the year is 2009.

In Thailand, the number 9 is lucky as the King is the 9th in his royal line, the Chakri Dynasty. He is known as Rama IX.

On my way home, I got into a taxi, which cost me 81 baht (guess that's a 9 too if you add 8+1).

When I got out of the taxi, I did something I rarely do - look at the license plate of the taxi. The last time I remember looking at a taxi plate, it was 888, that was about six months ago.

Today, it was 999.

Maybe finally it's my turn to be lucky - but according to the Chinese Zodiac, this is not a good year for dragons. So my wife bought a lot of chicken ornaments to ward off the bad luck!

Wonder if the chickens and the nines will finally change my luck... LOL...

Geeze Spear, now just when did you truly become to think and act like what your avatar show.:p If you did try to wear a rabbit's foot or chicken feet(never eat them I hear because you never know what they have trodden over) it would be your decision and your children should respect that. I am sure you wouldnt interfere in their affairs unnecessarily lol.

Actually, I am not talking about rabbit foot as it is an all-weather lucky talisman. Any rabbits will do. Try wearing one when you have a flutter next time at the races.

Many Happy Returns, Spearmaster! You are almost the best moderator here at Casinomeisterland!! (Sorry! Simmo made me say that!!) ;)

Seriously, hope you have/had a very good one, in spite of the chicken and rabbit "ornaments" all over the place! Those weren't your only presents, were they? :p

Jod - actually, I got nothing for my birthday other than dinner from my wife!! The chicken ornaments she bought a few weeks ago... around her birthday as I recall LOL.

All in all it was just another normal day... which actually I prefer :)

Dinner from your wife, assuming she is a good cook, is a great present in itself, IMO! I would love to have someone cook me a special birthday dinner! Unfortunately, none of my "guys", hubby, son, (even my daughter!) could ever even boil water! The only exception being pan fried hot dogs! :D Heck, if it weren't for restaurants, I would never, ever get a good meal if I didn't cook it myself!

Anyway, as long as you had a "Happy Day", that's what counts, Spear!

Maybe I should rephrase...

The only present I got from my wife is she actually COOKED dinner for me for a change! And she was late...

I eat out about 95% of the time... what my wife eats usually doesn't appeal to me :)

I take it that she's not a member of this forum?? You're harder on your wife (no pun intended :D) than KK is to his wife!

but, here if you have to dial 999 on the telephone, it's not because you have been LUCKY:D

This thread reminds me that soon I will be old, nearly as old as the Meister himself, and will have all those lucky birthday bonuses, including the ones I have to deposit for as well as the "real" presents.

How about placing yours all on 9 at Roulette, or even Sic Bo, and seeing if your luck is in.
