    Just Wondering..........

Has anyone else had a phone call in the past few days from Fortune Lounge about a promotion where you can win a cruise vacation? The caller explains that you have to go to the Royal Vegas site to sign up for the promo.

Not really trying to infer anything here, just wonderimg if anyone else has been contacted by phone.

Considering that thread going about Fortune Lounge affilates and spamming...
I'd suspect that phone call was from an affiliate.

Affiliates don't have phone numbers unless you give it to them.

OK, here's my dumb blonde question of the day..........my home telephone number (don't have a "work" number) is unlisted. How would an affiliate get my home number? Before you ask, I can tell you I do not freely give out my number and don't remember giving it to any affiliate (unwise even for a blonde).

And I will post about all the emails from "123skiddo" that can't be stopped in the appropriate place.

    or somebody else does.

Why the hell do many Microgaming casinos say that Home and WORK telephone are mandatory?

I don't know where from but some idiot has sold my phone number. I am plagued by guys calling from India. Me: 'I'm busy'. He 'I'll call back later' Me: 'No, I'm not interested.' He: 'How can you not be interested, I haven't told you yet'. Me: 'I'm not interested' He: <continues talking> Me: 'Bye'.

Won't take no for an answer.

I never gave an affiliate my email address, but they still manage to spam it.
With places like whitepages.com around, finding a phone number is simple enough.

I pay the freaking phone company every month to NOT list my phone number. How do places like whitepages.com get it? (OK, OK, maybe I am up to two dumb blonde questions for today.................)

If it's unlisted, whitepages.com won't have it... but read on...

What do you use for the phone number when opening a casino account?
As for getting your number... Ever get a telemarketing call generated by a computer? Computer dials number, gives schpeal, increments phone number by 1 and repeats. You answer the call, it grabs your number and stores it in the database that gets resold.

As Bryan says, affiliates have no access to any personal information about any player unless you give it to them.

However, if you have ever played at a Fortune Lounge casino, you likely gave them your phone in the sign up form.

My bet would be it was Fortune itself calling you - or Fortune Affiliates, which is the Fortune program that manages affiliates, they may have gotten the number from Fortune, or Slick Street, which is their advertising firm. But definitely not an affiliate him/herself.

The info just isn't available outside the company unless there is something weird going on.

It could also be that an ex-employee of ANY casino you signed up with in the past has sold your phone number and other info to an affiliate. Yours, along with who knows how many others on a list.
