Omni up, and Sands scrap, the ante!

Well, Omni said they were going to review their bonus after all the fuss (as in Omni Casino Tricks thread), and they have:-

You now have to wager not $2500, but $4000 to get the $100 bonus.

And it looks like Sands have scrapped their monthly bonus completely!
(And increased the S.U.B. from 25x to 40x WR)

This is exactly what several of us feared would happen with the proliferation of 'bonus abusers' who are interested only in a short-term quick handful of bucks rather than long term month-on-month income...

Oh well, what can you do?

Inter Casino, Ritz Club Online are elegantly rich enough that they don't
even care a bit of such weird terminoogy like "bonus abusers". They just
give away like true rich men. I like Ritz especially, since they are giving out
the air of noble casino and truly so. " Bonus abusers " are the words usually employed by casinos which are trying to watch the movement of every cents like hungry birds.

Yep, the casinos love those players who make a long term monthly profit and would never dream of considering them 'bonus abusers'

Anyway, the Crypto casinos have been quite slow to 'rationalise' their bonuses the way the rest of the industry has. It's not quite time for an obituary to bonus whoring - there's still no earthly reason to play at 95% of casinos except for their bonuses, so unless they just want to shut up shop...

Seems to me that Omni "reviewing their bonus" is what created the fuss in the first place - their switch to granting the bonus after wagering. I would have guessed that the change would have reduced problems, since you "earn" the bonus before receiving it. But I guess they're going to sweat every penny. I personally don't care if they raise wagering requirements, as long as they are not astromonical (like 70 or 100x or something).

As for the Sands, I'll be much less attracted to their casino without the bonus to lure me in. Too bad.

Oh well, what can you do?

How true. Gamblers are so short-sighted. Well, what can you expect? And, like you said, what can you do? Nothing I guess. Human nature.

On another note, one thing I think you CAN do, is learn to play or improve your poker game. THIS, is a field of opportunity that is just going to get better. imho

I beg to differ. Intercasino excludes players from some countries from receiving the monthly match bonus because they feel that most of them are 'bonus abusers'. No qualms on that, though because they run a business and it is up to them to decide who to attract. But really, they dont give money away like true rich men,do they?

My problem with online poker is that there are so many people having a go these days, that you often find you're up against someone who hasn't a clue, or is too rich to care, and they'll chase you to the river and catch the one card they need to make their 4-7o into a winner!

I lost $1000's to online poker until becoming more controlled at the start of this year. My last deposit at TruePoker was $50 in January, I've played 3-4 times a week and now have $80-ish. $30 profit in 11 months is not that impressive really is it!

So I think I'll stick to casinos - at least until ALL the decent bonuses dry up...

KK, are you just playing limit? If so, play No Limit. That will stop alot of the chasing.

IMO Poker is way more profitable than any casino game. Even though rake is a factor there is no house edge.

Actually, I very rarely play Hold'em at all. I don't like the game.
I'm an Omaha Hi/Lo guy - and yes, I play mostly limit only.

I would like to play no limit, but first I need to grow bigger testicles!
