    New Tomb Raider?

    Hey,
I'm just wondering what you guys think of the new Tomb Raider slot. I ran through $20 playing it at Spin Palace, only betting an average of $.15-$.20 a pull and only got the bonus twice I think! I didn't get the bonus nearly enough to stay interested in the game. I don't think I'll be playing Tomb Raider anymore. I mean, the sound effects and theme of the game are neat, but not neat enough to make me keep playing when I get the bonus once or twice in an hour!
    What do you guys think?

It might just be paranoia, but it seemed to play a whole load better in the first week than it does now. I was hitting the bonus, free spins, five of a kind and allsorts... Now it seems nigh on impossible to get the free spins. Maybe as you get disinterested you play less?.. Dunno. Plus, it ruined Spring Break and Thunderstruck, so for that it cannot be forgiven.

Still.. four new games at the end of this month!

I just played it and it was pretty nice to me. Hit five of those lariat things during the free bonus spins for 500x3 quarters - a cool $375

The idols were pretty scarce though... LOL... and when I finally got them, they were stingy like hell.

I've had several looong sessions with this game, and I agree - the bonus rounds are hard to get. I have had a number of the "idol" rounds, some of which topped 1000 coins. Good game - but eye candy. I still prefer "What-a-hoot", Skullduggery, and Thunderstruck/Springbreak.

I've played Tomb Raider a bit and i agree its great eye-candy and it adds a slightly different slot to the armoury, combining bonus rounds and free spins, which is a good thing as it gives more options.

However, like the horrible (IMHO) "Tally Ho", TR only has 10 free spins, spins too slowly to keep the interest going and never seems to give much on the free spins. For me, the excitement of the "free spin" bonus slots is, funnily enough, the free spins where you get a chance to win big so i'd rather have 15 free spins and no idols than 10 free spins and the idols.

You see, with the idols you have a finite maximum you can win. No fun. With free spins, in theory, you can win so much more.

Plus its a bit on the slow side and the "quickspin" function is rendered useless now in all the 5 reel "free spin" slots. And like Slotster says, the "upgrade" has slowed down MG's best slot Thunderstruck, which is quite amazing and I think personally, the casinos will have something to say to MG about this

When the euphoria of Tomb Raider promotions die down and normality resumes, i think slots revenue, on the 5 reel free-spin slots, will be shown to have decreased on MG following this change. Not just because people leave the slots to play other games, but also because the speed the reels drop is now twice as long as it was before.

In Summary: Its OK but the effect its had on slowing down Thunderstruck means I'll be playing more poker from now on. Particularly as "Double Bonus Poker" arrives on MG later this month so, paytables allowing, i think i'll have a Thunderstruck replacement - woohoo

Ok - I'm sure Belle Rock are reading this board!!!

Just played at The Gaming Club, and hit the free spins feature on my second spin. Free spins came in AGAIN during the feature, and then the idols during the feature too!!!

Mind you, it only totalled up to 250 which at 3.75 a spin isn't that great I don't suppose for such a good run. Still... I like it again

** I have to agree that it is awesome in graphics... I do however like the simple things in life so I play Big Top when I am in a 'zombie' state! I always bet max (yeah it is not high) but I seem to break even over a period of time.

I like Tomb, but it gets a bit much after a while!

I think it's AMAZING that you managed to make $20 last an hour! And still 'complain' you didn't win much!
I also think there's something very dodgy about your whole post. Wherever I've played 'Tomb' the min bet is 5c/line.
You said you were doing 15-20c/spin = only 3 or 4 lines out of 15???
Even Kasino 'tight-ass' King wouldn't be THAT tight!

I like TR. I can be just as 'streaky' as all the other 5-reel slots, but generally you get a lot of bonuses which normally pay quite well (if you're doing 15 lines!)

But, like everyone else - I'm really fed up with the spin/stop rate problem - even 'quick spin' doesn't cure it.

I'm no software expert, but I think it's probably IMPOSSIBLE that adding TR effected the other slots. I'm sure MG changed them deliberately to try to improve them, but ended up making them worse.

If we all complain to MG & the casino's, we may get something done.

Hey, I'm offended! Why would I lie about my opinion about a game? I've played Tomb Raider only at one place and that was Spin Palace. They offer 1c lines, so I was playing all 15 lines for a penny each. They also offer 2c lines, so sometimes I'd play 2c, 1 line, 15 lines (30c a pull)(or sometimes 1c, 2 lines, 15 lines). And I said I averaged 15-20 cents a pull because I'd change it up somtimes and do more or less. It's not that hard to play off of $20 an hour, when you're only betting a few cents at a time! Anyway, please don't become so cynical that you think every post, innocent or not, is "dodgy"! You can check it out for yourself if you want... I have no reason or motivation to lie!

I still think Tomb Raider is fine, albeit a bit slow. I started my run with $20... playing Good to Go first, and some Tomb Raider, then mixing it up with Deuces Wild and Aces and Faces, both 4-play versions.

The 5 lariats in Tomb Raider provided the jumpstart after I was down to less than $10 if I recall correctly, or perhaps it was $15.

Right now, my total is $1159... I just cashed out $1K as per my rule "$1K or Bust" - not bad for a $20 investment, way better entertainment than the 20 minutes or so I got for my 20 Euros playing Magic Bingo in the Gran Barcelona Casino last week

Along the way, I drew 5 cards at Deuces Wild, and got dealt 4 Deuces on one hand (you would have seen the picture if you had subscribed to my newsletter)... and just now got dealt a pat 5 9s, again at Deuces Wild - and 4 Deuces playing Aces and Faces (aw shucks) - I swear most of the time I get the hands that I want to get in the OTHER VP game, and vice-versa - but it's still worked out well.

It's a bit slow at the moment, but Lake Palace is on fire as far as I'm concerned. Trident Lounge might be worth a shot if you want faster play according to my observations.

Tally Ho - I agree with Simmo, not particularly entertaining - but I still like Tomb Raider. And I most definitely prefer free spins but I'll happily take the idols, they have some pretty high win limits anyhow

edit: I have now tried all the bonus-type slots (Spring Break, Secret Admirer, What a Hoot, Big Kahuna, Skullduggery) and they are all playing poorly by comparison to the newer games (Tomb Raider and Good to Go).

So I went back to Deuces Wild 4-Play.... and got dealt a pat deuces royal... LOL...
