iGlobalMedia invisible cards trick.

Spot the problem. Clue: the total on the second hand is NOT nine.

Just prior to this, the junk software started flashing and jerking on me so I knew something was up.

You'd think with the phenomenal success of Party Poker they could clean up their blackjack game. Apparently, once a crook always a crook.

Had something similar happen twice when playing at one of these casinos. Ending the session and logging back in restored it to normal, but obviously you don't want to be betting large amounts of money when something similar happens! I'd put it down to complete incompetence rather than any attempt at fraud, but it is something anyone about to play there should be aware of.

One tip: play the java games rather than downloading these casinos. The download version actually offers fewer games & seems less stable than playing in Java.

Hi Caruso;

This software is well known for this, particularly when there are splits involved. Have a good one.

The download version of that software has an estimated .82% dealer advantage, as opposed to the Java games with an estimated .41% dealer advantage for the Las Vegas Strip version.

Not to mention adding the casino's screwup shown in caruso's post!

Hi Caruso,

Have you reported this to the casino operators? What other actions have been taken on this?

I didn't consider reporting it since closing the software and and re-opening it did allow me to access the hand plus correct card values via an odd HTML-style version of the game - I should have mentioned that. It would have been very bad if the reload had caused the full hand to be lost, or if I had tried to play on and GUESS the value of the "hidden" card. I expect many players WOULD attempt to play on regardless.

FTR - this happened a few moments after the software suddenly started flashing and glitching like manaic, so I put this down to whatever that particular defect was and NOT that a split was involved. Previous splits had been correctly displayed. I've seen the "flashing & glitching" on many past occasions on this junk software, so wasn't overly bothered. I can send them the screenshot, but I can't see them being excessively bothered.

Hi Caruso,

I do recall that on the couple of occassions that this happened to me, it not only involved a split pair but a match split pair meaning that each of the split off cards were same suited as well. Have a good one.

In fact, these happened to me few times at CON before. Then, someone here (jam, I believe) told me it's probably my computer's problem and suggest me to do some adjustments.
