Knowing When To Slow Down On Gaming !!!

Well some call it fun and some may call it an addiction but who is that real person behind the screen depositing hard earned money for those moments of pure pleasure and excitment or looking for that next virtual gaming high?

I found myself asking the same question over a year ago when I took a long look at all the money I had deposited over the years and realized that I could have bought a 6 figure house over the past 7 years , so what did I do you might ask lol , I put my brakes on and selected a couple of casinos I trust and made a vow to only spend xx amount of dollars , was it hard ? Hell yes it was , so I guess I can say I was an addict.

How many of us out there and tell the truth have spent more than they should and keep going back , guess its all about will power , I found my will power and posting about it now assures me that.

When I came up with the slogan ," Go Wild and have fun but play it smart when gaming " It was really meant for me with the hopes that it may help someone else.

Now don't get me wrong , gaming online is freaking awesome if your in control , just don't let the gaming control you and your hard earned money as its something that will play in your head till you take control over your addiction and admit either you need to quit which Bryan can help you do and has done in the past or slow down and pace yourself , set a limit for the month and stick to it.

Hope this helps someone, at least I feel better getting this off my chest and putting it out there.

    Great post, Laurie.

You know, the times I've enjoyed most playing online were the times when I made a minimum deposit, and managed to cash out nice amounts from that one deposit. And the worst times were when I made a $100 deposit (for example) and didn't get a single feature, it just all went zoop!, right down to zero.

so I guess what I'm saying is, yes, I now play only for entertainment. If I end up cashing out, so much the better, but it really is just for playing with mad money.

    Beautiful OP, Laurie.

I think everybody has his strategies to survive. Without rules you're a looser, correct?
I remember I read something similar into an interesting book, talking about self-distruction behaviours (drinks, drugs, game and so on)
It was suggested to ask to ourselves while doing something potentially dangerous:who am I, in this moment? The child, the father or the grown up?
    Answer: the child.Stop immediately
Answer. the father. Too much unpleasant...
Answer: the adult. Ok, you're adult. So now do what your mind says to do, not what you feel.

    Hope it's all clear enough
    Don't think twice:it's all right!

Great post Laurie. Takes a big person to make it.

    For that I applaud you.

The thrill of winning is overwhelming. Doesn't matter if you cashout. It's the high you get.

So glad you are able to see this. I'm sure many have been there and after reading your post may many be questioning what they do.

Maybe this will help one. If it does, then this post has succeeded.

Just keep the positive outlook. It's there for you!

Im having bad run for a month now and i hope it continues little more, becaouse when i just lose like its worth nothing i get really frustrated and i gets this "reality check" i already gets bored and nothing special happens of my deposits and eventually stops for a preatty long while, new hobby maybe..

i already have slown down on my deposits becaouse as one player said in other thred that if you are suposed to win, you will win with a 20$ deposit. and almost all my biggest win IS made of really small deposits.

and yes when i think about my deposits over 8 years period i could tell you its mind shocking to see the numbers, but before i joined CM i played much harder and much crazy bets on betsson & other netent casinos and ALOT of poker. i remember many of my friends payed me to play tournament and gave me 50% of the winnings, when i was 18 i won 50K one night at pokerroom started with 40$ depo, those was the times!

Super post, Laurie! I can't tell you how many times my greatest losses have occurred followed by large wins. I've chased that rainbow for even greater wins because that's what happens to a gambler. When we are winning, we want to win more, and when we are losing we want to get it back. I used to max out every resource I had, including credit cards. One day reality came home and I had to ask myself why I was doing what I was. It was no longer for fun. After that I realized that I either had to make smaller deposits and not feel bad about losing them and play for fun, or I had to quit altogether. I chose to make smaller deposits and keep my "entertainment budget" to no more than what others might spend in a month on going out for dinner, movies, etc. Rarely do I deposit more than $100 per pay period anymore.
