Only one in three of humans fart methane as they have the bacteria called methanogenic archaea in their gut. Most of us fart highly flammable Hydrogen. The smell comes from hydrogen sulphide.

I was expecting the beans to actually explode all over, and come splooshing out of my monitor in a flood, and I could roll around like Ann Margret from the scene in Tommy.

DERAIL

When I was in college, this kid use to "light his farts" until one night at a party he did it and when you are done farting you body actually sucks up air through your anus and the flames when through is pants and gave his butt a 3rd degree burn. Needless to say he was never seen "lighting his farts" again.
