    document verification question

Hi im not sure if im posting this in the right place but i was wondering, when a casino asks you to provide copies of the front and back of your credit/debit card as part of the verification process is it normal for them to request that the CCV number on the back of the card be visible?

Also If you haven't ever used a credit/debit card to deposit and have used an e-wallet instead is it normal for a casino to still request you provide a copy of your card anyway before they will verify your docs and allow you to withdraw?

    thanks

The requests as you state them are 'normal' in that the casinos generally send out a non-player specific form letter to request docs. Do NOT send any CC info if you have not used a credit card to deposit at the casino.

Might be best to contact the casino as to what they specifically need from you.

And even if you send the required documents, never send the security number of your card, just scan it and delete the number with photoshop, they do not need any CCV pin number for verification purposes. If they ask you for your pin, something is fishy and i recommend you to discuss it with the casino manager.

If you did not use a card do not send them copies of one. If you did use a card, block out the CCV number as they do NOT need it and should not be asking for it.

The email they send out for verification is usually just a standard one, If you did not use a CC you should not have to send a copy in. Instead they might ask you for a pringscreen of your neteller account (or moneybookers or whatever)
Some peple do NOT have creditcards so how are they supposed to send one in.
Just contact the casino and ask, I am sure - as long as it is a recomende casino you will recive a reply that is Ok!

Block out the CCV on the back. I block the middle 8 digits as well. It should not be required if you haven't used a credit card, but if you intend to use your credit card in future there, I usually take the opportunity to send it as well. Then I won't need another verification if I do deposit with it.

If they continue to insist on it, I would interpret that as a very bad sign. To comply, I'd purchase a low denomination gift card, spend it somewhere else so there was no balance left, and use that.

thank you everyone for your help.

Although my deposit to this casino was done via moneybookers/skrill originally, when i sent my docs in to be verified i decided to send a copy of my credit card purely because it was likely that i would use it for future deposits so i thought it would be better to have it already verified. I haven't used Photoshop before so didnt think to use it to remove the CCV and instead i 'blacked' the CCV number by taping a small piece of paper over it (just big enough too cover the three numbers no larger).

i received a reply back from the casino saying they couldn't verify my visa card because- 'Front and back copies of VISA ************ - total card must be visible'. I interpreted this to mean that the CCV and all the digits on the front needed to be visible but maybe i have interpreted it wrong and maybe i just need to use Photoshop as suggested to remove them instead of covering it over. Anyway I haven sent them an email to clarify and also asked whether they could verify my docs minus the credit card as i have not used it to deposit anyway.

once again thanks everyone for your replies they have been most helpful

They only need to verify the card in part, the last 4 digits of your card should be sufficient.

I can hear it, send me your entire credit card info front & back via email or are they asking for a fax?

You obviously don't seem to want to name the casino here for some reason.
If you want tell us that, would at least tell us; Is this a CasinoMeister Accredited casino?

BTW, I agree - DON'T sent a full copy of your card!
