Unhappy What to do? One mistake and my hope is gone?? :(

Wondering what would you do in the same situation?

I was just playing in one of the bigger MG casinos -> had a good streak, went up from 75$ to around 300$ playing "Adventure place". Then lost some on this whole reel-poker which was pointless, then got back with their new game "Dolphin Tale".

Just a moment ago, I switched to Alley cats, and wanted to play for $1.8 ...didn't notice denomination was set to 0.10 instead of 0.01.
Losing $18 isn't nice, but I'm worried about this irregular 30% or 25% rule?

Does this mean that this one stupid mistake in a split second turns my winnings into worthless digits?
5 minutes ago I was so happy that finally I might be able to actually win something rather that lose now I'm just depressed.

If I keep playing and lose everything noone will refund me right?
If I ask for my deposit back...I will never know if casino would pay me...and all my winnings and happines assosiated with it, will be gone like poof

Would you count on some goodwill here? It's not like I tried to obtain a "big win" since I've already won relatively big with 0.01 stakes... also it's not like I placed bets but only one bet (I know that's just nitpicking - but that's what casinos do anyway)

Hate those rules, why won't somebody @ MG block higher denominations while playing with bonus. Wish I never took that bonus in the first place, but didn't really expect to win anything, and certainly not to make a $18 bet by mistake.

It sounds like one of the casinos in the 32Red group...? If so, contact their rep - they'll look at your play history and maybe make allowances if it looks to them like an honest mistake on your part.

The simplest answer is just ask the casino!
Contact them & explain what happened & see what they say.
If it is going to be bad news, it would be better to find out now than after you do a load more wagering and possibly build an even bigger bank-roll.
If it's an accredited casino, I would hope they would grant you some leeway on this.

I guess you're right. I was just wondering if there's any point in creating extra drama. Especially that my gameplay apart from this one bet is absolutely regular.

Surely people have pressed "max bet" or have wrong denomination for their coins every day?
I know some casinos have t&c in order to prevent bonus abuse and that's cool.
Others actually use them as an excuse not to pay.

It just feels strange...going to a casino and almost saying "hey, out of 100s of spins I made, one was over your limit, if you want you can confiscate my winnings" Yes... it happed around 6pm while playing this and this slot".

But you might be right ...I was thinking what would happen if I went bust and then didn't even get my $50 back...but building my bankroll would be even more brutal.

ok....correct me if I'm wrong here, but it almost sounds to me, like you're hoping to keep playing, and should you lose, the casino would give you your deposit back, because you made a "mistake".
Yeah....I don't see that happening, and why on earth should they ? If they did that, how many "mistakes" do you think they would be presented with per hour ?
So your best option is to contact live chat, and tell them what happened, hope they'll let the one spin slide as an honest mistake, and then play normally, and hope to win, like most other people do....pretty much what KK said.

I am pretty sure brackets are in this situation is quite unbecoming LaHutti... ("mistake")
Just imagine how would you feel after winning around $300 with small bets and then by one single mistake giving casino a reason (if they want to) to take all of that away.
If you think anyone sane would deliberately make a large bet after winning some money then you're wrong I can assure you most (if not all) would prefer to have $300 in winnings, rather then get 50$ back. So I don't think we understand each other.

By mistake I don't mean that I made a "mistake", lost $18 bet and now want this particular bet back...

I just read a lot of complains here on CM regarding this issues (too high bets) and became somehow convinced that most casinos are just waiting to entrap players. But I might be wrong...

For example: I don't play at GoWild with bonuses, since they offer a 10% bonus on your deposit. How on earth can you ask players to place bets lower then $0.5 and void their winnings if they do place a bet higher than that? If bonus is given automatically then I'd say it is a type of entrapment.

I'm just saying, that doing 1 high bet shouldn't cause a problem, if you contact the casino right away, and explain to them what happened. If it's a good casino, I'm pretty sure, they'll let it go, specially since you didn't win on that one spin.
You were the one mentioning the option of getting your deposit back, if you lost everything, and I'm just saying, that I don't think that'll happen, and don't see any reason for it either.
The "" simply meant that if people expected to get their deposit back, because of a "mistake" they made, there would surely be a lot of "mistakes", and in that case the "" would be fitting

An accredited casino who is not deliberately setting rules in order to entrap players would look at the circumstances as well as the offence. If the mistake was due to a genuine mistake because the default coin on this game was set unexpectedly high compared to others (which seems to be the case), they will deem the breach to be unintentional. It could be a trickier situation had you won big on that first spin, as it is a case of judging intent, not easy when the player has no history at the casino.

32Red group are known to take cases such as this on individual merit, rather than jumping at the slightest chance not to pay. 32Red do not usually confiscate winnings down to a breach of bonus terms, but apply a WR of 100x on them instead. This at least gives the player a chance to redeem themselves by demonstrating further play, as well as the chance that they might make the 100x and withdraw.

With this % of bonus term now in widespread use, casinos really should be setting the bet defaults lower such that the average player does not inadvertently break the rules just by pressing spin on the default bet. There has also been much criticism about the placing of the "max bet" button right next to the "spin" button, making it very easy to misclick on it when the intent was merely to spin. Even worse, the "max bet" button sets this as the default, making even the "spin" button then carry on at max bet. It would help if this button could be removed under "options" so that players could protect themselves from making such a mistake. It would be more useful than many of the other options available.

What would count against you though would be to attempt to use the situation in order to get a "free ride" at the casino's expense, so the advice to contact the casino NOW to explain the mistake and ask for your case to be considered should be followed. Leaving it until the end, and using it (or not as the case may be) to either get paid winnings, or have your deposit refunded having lost it, is going to look like you were intentionally trying to "abuse the system", rather than it being a genuine mistake.

    Thanks for all your replies

I actually have a history dating back to 2007 with this particular casino and therefore feel now much more confident about approaching them. I know some slots (like Platinium Play) have higher denominations locked (they go to 0.05 AFAIK) so it is possible to prevent players from overbetting on their spins.

It wasn't my intention to suggest that once you've made this type of mistake, you could try and get your lost money back, that'd be crazy Just wanted to point out that in some cases you can really feel kind of entrapment when you know that if you lose, you lose, but if you win you get your winnings taken

Or that you sit at home, drink beer, reels are spinning, you are winning, and then suddenly you realize, that this one spin might have just costed you everything you have already won. The fact that you place bets with credits rather than hard cash, makes it even easier to slip trough.

Now I'm just full of remorse ("Why did I play Alley Cats, when I was supposed to play another slot", "Why did I play @ at this time, and of course, why didn't I pay enough attention!).

Did you win on this spin? I think that's rather an important point. You said you lost $18.

I think any casino you have a history with, contact right after the mistake, if the bet LOST would tell you to keep on playing, and to take more care with your bets.

If you won, that might be a different story.

If it is the 32Red group, they won't void winnings, but they do impose a 100x wagering on any such winnings. If you lost, it shouldn't be a problem.

I once inadvertently broke a rule with a bonus at 32Red, contacted CS as soon as I realized I'd made a mistake. My winnings were very small on the mis-bet, but they did carry a 100x playthrough requirement.

Whatever the group, the casino needs to give you the answer, not us, especially without being able to read their bonus terms.

If you need to wait until Monday to have management decide, stop playing and wait for the answer.
