Most poorly designed video slot(s)

Here's a random question: I'm curious as to what people think are the most poorly designed video slot(s) in any of the different software's?

In Microgaming there is a slot called 'Liquid Gold' which is probably the worst slot I've ever played. The graphics are sub-par, the feature is awful - 10 free games x2 and can't re-trigger - and the pay-table it's self isn't that good I think. Overall it is just a very boring slot IMO.

So, what slots does everyone else think are badly designed be it with the feature or the graphics or whatever?

I agree that Liquid Gold is very lame. Or the News one. Both are ones I actually dreaded playing when Level 11/MG-US was still operating.

I'll have to give this some thought. In the running would definitely be Rival's Rock On!, as during the free spins, the drum set counts for NOTHING, and only gets in the way of possible winning combinations. Just douche-y.

One of the reasons Liquid Gold is very dull, is that it's very low variance.

I love slots with dark backgrounds, but it is kinda dull.

If you are trying to grind out a WR, maybe not as dull. But there are other slots I like better.

Platinum Play has the same dark backround, and more fun IMO.

I quite like Lucky News and play it from time to time.

I enjoy a wide variety of slots, nice that there is lots to pick from.

A rival i-slot pops up in my mind.
A switch in time, played it only once, no luck at all either.. for an i-slot its terrible

The casino has a horrible design too, just look it at, what were they thinking, lets get an image of the ocean, throw in some of the worst copy/paste work, add a model (wonder if she knows)

In a bit of a hurry, so I can't think of names right now (I think MG has one or more...?), but slots where you must get 3 scatters on reels 1 to 3 for the feature but there are also scatters on reels 4 & 5 which do nothing... except get in the way of other wins! :(

Also slots which award the exact same bonus round with no extra payout for getting 3, 4 or 5 scatters; The Hampsteads on Crypto is one example of that.

I also don't like any slot with a "picking sequence" where it is possible to win ZERO (or a really crap award) if you pick the wrong item first...

I'm thinking of "fugly" and the first things that come to mind are some of the slots that less than ethical companies design with ripped off graphics and ideas from some of the main stream providers.

Here is one of my favs - it'll make your eyeballs bleed if you look at it too long. "Thunderstruck" by Salus Technologies. They have removed it from their games suite, but you can go to the "way back" machine and see the other games they ripped off and mutilated from MGS here:

I think it's the "rams" that bother me the most. They're sort of like stick figures. I find them disturbing.

Oh god that looks horrible, the 10 J Q K and Ace look like they where ripped off from Carnival or something where as the 9 looks normal :/

I have never really liked prime property, dunno why but it is an annoying design and I am sure there's more like it.

I tried Lucky News just to see what it was like (I think I played it once before a month ago for like 5 spins) and it will never be a favourite but I got the feature twice pretty quick and the second one I picked a 100x bet coin award. So I can see the appeal with that one.

Oh wow that is "fugly"! Net Entertainment has a slot that is a basically Thunderstruck but at least they put effort into the graphics.

I am also not a much of a fan of slots where you have to get the scatters left-to-right - except 'No Worries' on MG because I've had a few really good sessions on that one.

As for the no extra reward for 4 or 5 scatters an example comes to mind where it is actually worse to get 4 of 5 scatters is 'Cash-occino'. I once got 4 scatters and because there is no credit value set for 4 or 5 scatters but there is for 2 and 3 I got paid nothing and I happened to be betting (rare for me on this slot) 4 or 5 coins per line.

and the picking sequence? I don't like Prime Property because every time I have gotten the feature first pick is always the start free games.

Magic Spell for me - Those letters just block wins - and when do spell Magic you STILL don't have the feature you have to pick a key first - annoying.

If you are slot player you should maybe like this "A switch in time" slot. It has 3 different game mode and you can win very big if you hit.

One of the best casino pictures...

Betonsoft has maybe the worst slots... Those slots looks "normal" and they have mostly only 9-15 freespins/x2. It's hard to win any bigger amounts....

Many microgaming slots have very annoying noises and their graphics are so bad... Why they put same sounds to all games and those sounds are also very cheap?

First of all I disagree with "A switch in time" is a bad slot, it is a very entertaining high-variance slots.

Any video slot from Boss Media software was horrible and all very alike. If you have not played any, don't cry. I also think all the new MG 'retro' slots sucks - the one where you can respin each reel.

Besides from those, I guess it is a more personal taste and preference.

BETONSOFT: 5, 4, 3 scatters pay NOTHING on none of the slots :what:
but War of Worlds is horrible.

RTG: Medal Tally and Tally Ho

RIVAL: The birdie game, I think it is watch the birdie

MGS: Fighting Fish

Hahahahahaha! That made my day, I mean, WTF? Im still laughing. Looks like it is created with the pen tool in MS Paint.

What's wrong with that one? :p
Actually I quite like it, but it is very low variance, as I found out when I hit the top-pay win (only Bet x 100)

Fearless Frederick by Microgaming.

Played it once, finally got 3 scatters.
Then you go into a 'funny' cartoon where Frederick has to make a rescue or something.
I chose the woman in the burning building.
And what happened?
The bastard crashed against a brick wall!!

Result: No free spins, just a big fat nothing.

Never played it again.

When I hit 3 scatters I want AT LEAST free spins!

Rival slots are nice but its bad that they not have any trustworthy casino available.

3dice "japan/chinese slot" is terrible. You try hit ying yang scatters and when you get all pieces for picture you get only few spins and low multiplayer (other slots you get much better freespins even one spin).

Oh gawd, ChingChing. It's a damn pretty game, but I certainly wouldn't touch it in real play. I guess there's a market for that kind of game, but it doesn't appeal to me one bit.

But, honestly, I'd rather play ChingChing than that god awful Slotronomicon. The fact that people actually win on that thing astounds me.

I quite like Slotronomicon. I never have won on it but and like you it almost seems impossible to me for someone to do so but I still play it.

instead of mentioning a specific slot can i just say Chartwell!

they are still producing slots today that look like they would have been out of date 10 years ago, the Italian Job for instance could have been such a good game if Netent or Ash Gaming had the license, it would have had car chases and doors being blown off instead of the boring 'Pick a lump of gold' effort they gave it

Theres very select few slots I hate - Rival; I like the majority of them, but Opera Night, come on. Seriously? Wins on any lines are nowhere near your bet; you have to get supremely lucky to hit a bonus round or free spins, and the free spins are god awful.

MG; I don't really play anything other than my 'favourites', so can't really complain, but I will mention Robin Hood, Feathers of Fortune. I dislike this game purely for the fact it seems to stink every time I play!

RTG, however, I reserve a special place for some of their games. Any of the games that make you have to get 3 scatters on reels 1 2 and 3 for example. Come on. If I hit 3 scatters anywhere, I want a bonus round. Ridiculous. Aladdin's Gold springs to mind.

And finally, as above, ANY casino slot that makes you have to hit 3 scatters on reels 1, 2 and 3, or 4, 5 and 6, and THEN has the audacity to say, "Oh no, you have to hit them on an active payline AS WELL" - seriously, like I'm going to play your slot :P

I understand what you are saying and why you feel these slots are "poor value", but in reality it doesn't make ANY difference at all.

A slot will be designed to give the feature in X number of spins on average - it doesn't matter HOW you trigger the feature, the chances are still the same.
What I'm saying is a slot where you need scatters on reels 1, 2 & 3 could well be more likely to give you the feature than one where 3 scatters anywhere will trigger it.
It makes no odds.

In reality, I realise that, but mentally, I don't :D

Thanks for complement quber, great to hear you like what we do with licenses. All I can say is keep your eyes out for some on their way :)

Haha! This thread made me laugh, your so right about 'Liquid Gold' and many other slots games. I saw this one the other day, think it was chineses and the graphics were apalling. Gold Rally is my favourite of the better quality slots sites, but my god there are some terrible ones!

Vikings Treasure. Similar but 15 lines.

I (almost) agree. There are perhaps two slots that are playable for a short while but compared to other providers they are miles behind.

Bingo! For me, it would be a toss up between Chartwell and Orbis for the poorest collection with Boss a close runner-up. I think Chartwell recently (and if I'm right, very sensibly!) did a deal with Novomatic?

---
As an affiliate I sometimes get contacted by casinos saying "check us out". The moment I see they have Chartwell or Boss Media software my heart sinks 'cos I just know it's a pointless excercise. Even if they are a good casino, no slots player is going to hang around for long once they see what else is out there.

Hopefully thats true. Wanna play Rockin Rome online. Also Rich Witch, Riches of India and Beetle Mania would be more than welcome online.
